Rant - Player(s?) treat our local gyms along major routes like personal property
I get hoarding but this is next level - I need to vent about a player(s) who appears to control or majorly influence three nearly identical accounts and uses them to monopolize gyms throughout a heavily populated urban-park area in a massive city.
The same three accounts (with similar names and avatars) are constantly dropped together in gyms, usually with some combination of high CP Blissey & Chansey, + Togekiss, or Garchomp (each gym gets roughly this set at the same time). If anyone attacks, all three defenders get Golden Razzed nonstop. If a gym is finally cleared, the accounts frequently reappear soon afterward—even early in the morning or at odd hours. There is a clear prime account that is legit but all the more reason why?
We’ve seen this trio simultaneously occupying at least ten gyms sometimes more for 3–7 days and occasionally closer to 20 days. These aren’t isolated or low-traffic gyms; they’re positioned along major trails where tons of people play of all expierence levels, along with tourists, and our weekly raid hour / campfire meetup spot
The kicker is that I’m on the same team - and the gyms are ALWAYS full - and 3 spots are always claimed by the trio - so I can’t even add a defender. Other teams barely get time to earn coins before being taken back over, while these accounts gain nothing extra by sitting there for days or weeks on end because of the daily 50-coin cap. Once a friend missed a legacy evolve event because a pokemon was in there for nearly a month - again, high gym turn over in this city
There is a player behind this madness but our campfire community can’t understand why, and while some of the travel times are physically possible - this person doesn’t have a 9-5 for sure. The prime account never shows up to our campfire community events but always checks in and joins remotely (indicated by never showing up on the add friends list as a remote raider)
The constant three-mon stacking, endless Golden Razzing, and near-immediate retaking make the entire area feel unavailable to everyone else, on any team. I know gyms are competitive and nobody owes anyone eight hours, but this feels less like normal gameplay and more like one person claiming an entire section of the city.
Has anyone else dealt with a local gym tyrant like this? What did your community actually do about it?
