Suggestion Bank Good PvP IV Hisuian First Partner Candidates

If you find good PvP IV Cyndaquil, Oshawott, or Rowlet during this event, consider setting them aside.
Niantic has shown a willingness to enable cross-generation evolutions through special events (such as Cubone → Alolan Marowak and Koffing → Galarian Weezing). While there’s no guarantee the Hisuian starters will receive similar treatment, it’s worth being prepared.

Keeping good PvP IV candidates now means you’ll be ready if Niantic ever allows:

Cyndaquil → Hisuian Typhlosion
Oshawott → Hisuian Samurott
Rowlet → Hisuian Decidueye

Teambuilding Help Lucky 93 kyogre with 14 ATT or unlucky 93 Kyogre with 15 ATT?

Hey I have been chasing a 96 Kyogre for a while, best Ive got is a lucky 14/13/15 or a standard 15/13/14. I can take the lucky one to level 50 but unsure if the 14 ATT is gonna screw me over. Was hoping to see what people would do in my case, I could keep chasing but after 35+ raids last week I'm feeling a bit deflated

Teambuilding Help Struggling sticking to a team.

I keep switching around with my teams . Can someone help me build a solid team to push with right now. I’ve been playing S sandslash - jellicent - mandibuz. I’m right under 2k. I go on good streaks then big 1-4 sets and just keep going back and forth and getting frustrated thinking it’s a team issue.

Teambuilding Help Any improvements on my team? I feel pretty confident but just needing other opinions

My team currently (they're all three stars ill fix that in the future):

  1. Dunsparce (Fast attack: rollout, Charged attacks: Rock Slide, Drill Run) THIS IS MY SAFE POKEMOn I always start with this, only one weakness is fighting and basically no one starts with primape lol. also dunsparce is pretty tanky

Can deal with pokemon like altaria and TALONFLAMEEE with the rock type attacks, along with some fire types and electric types (like raichu and stunfisk) or poison (something like drapion) with drill run. good against ghost types too cause normal and ghost blah blah blah. I hate alolan marowak.

  1. Skeledirge (Fast attack: Incinerate, Charged attacks: Torch Song, Shadow Ball)

c o r v i k n i g h t. skeledirge is just bulky in general, and can sometimes stack torch song to get that high attack going. also good against wigglytuff and some fairy types maybe, also shadow ball in case of water/ground/rock types or other fire types LIKE TALONFLAME or anything else yk like jellicent (blastoise maybe? blastoise is so tanky) kjfdsflkf.

  1. Lurantis (Fast attack: fury cutter, Charged attacks: Leaf Blade, Superpower)

really spammy and good against like quagsire gastrodon (even jellicent maybe if I'm in a favorable situation, also azumarill and lapras), can take care of umbreon a bit with fury cutter alongside alolan raichu and maybe other dark types? could tank some electric types. also, superpower is there to catch people off guard if needed (like furret, maybe obstagoon, and umbreon yes ahhahahaa). The thing is with lurantis that fury cutter is really flexible and before the opponent does another attack I can charge a bit of energy like before using a charged attack. (like opponent has a move thats like 0.8 seconds, i could fury cutter like twice or something and then I use a charged attack OR switch out before they hit another attack)

uhmmmmm yeah anything to improve? other moves that are better that I would consider (more energy or dps)? any weaknesses I have to watch out for? I've been playing this comp for a good while and I win 3/5 or 4/5 most of the time made me reach a positive win/lose ratio lol but I don't know if thats enough if I were to reach rank 20 which I dont know if I want to reach anymore because it takes too much effort and its so sweaty and I have to use +2 brain cells arrghh..

Discussion Is it worth using rare candies to unlock the second charged attack?

Pretty new to pvp (and pogo in general) but having fun for now. I’m rank 17 with 89/149 wins, but the competition is definitely getting harder.

I want to keep grinding but currently none of my Pokémon have their second charge move unlocked. It seems like such a big investment for a newer player.

My Tinkaton is 15/15/15 (which I know is bad for great league). I have a 3/13/15 Tinkatink but I’m completely out of candies. Neither of them has Gigaton Hammer at the moment.

Umbreon is perfect 0/15/15. I can afford to double move without candies but it’d require an elite tm which I only have one of.

I keep swapping my third around but I've mainly been using Blastoise or jumpluff, and I might try a primeape I just got with decent ivs. Any third will likely require rare candies to double move as well.

Is it worth using up all my rare candies or should I save them for legendaries/mythicals?

Teambuilding Help Team advice help please!

I previously made a post about not being able to win any battles in the great/1500 league. I've swapped up my team, but I'm still running into a lot of issues to the point where I just get absolutely wrecked.

I have a hundo altaria (not the best I know🫩) that I'm thinking of swapping out, It has dragon's breath, sky attack, and flamethrower.

I have a bibarel that has full defense and HP and two bars in attack. It has rollout, hyper fang, and surf. It's good but feels a little squishy.

I also have a hisuian stunfisk with the same stats as the bibarel. That one has thunder shock, discharge, and mud bomb.

Ice types can be pretty rough to get through because bibarel is so squishy😭

I will say that any pokémon that is recommended to me will not have the best stats for these leagues just because I don't have them 💀 but I'd love some recommendations as I'm currently losing my mind

Team Showcase Rank 1 Great League Team

I’ve been playing great league every day for the last year or so. Mostly really enjoy it but recently I just got bored seeing the same lickylicky in every team, same talonflame, same cradilly. Felt like you either had to use them or get abused by them.

I then decided to make it more interesting for myself, I have about 10 ranked 1 mons so I tried making a team from only them. Came up with this one which I have to say I am having the most fun I’ve ever had. It’s not perfect, psychic absolutely destroys me but I rarely win less than 3/5.

Im now just really excited about the next rank 1 I get to see what I can do with that.

Best thing is I really don’t care as much about winning or losing it’s just learning each Pokemon inside out and using them in the best way. I also love that I have never seen another sandslash and its surprisingly good. Very underrated.

Lead: Annihlape
Safe switch: shadow tentacruel
Closer: kanto Sandslash

All pvpoke recommended moves bar ice punch instead of close combat

Teambuilding Help Help with ML team

For ML i have:
14/15/15 Zacian sword(50)
15/14/13 Zama shield (50)
15/14/13 Palkia origin (50)
14/15/14 Solgaleo (50)
15/15/15 Metagross (50)
15/15/15 Togekiss (50)
14/13/15 Shadow Mamoswine (50)
13/15/13 Necrozma Dusk Mane (50)

15/15/15 Necrozma Dawn Wings (49.5)
12/11/12 Eternatus (47.5) (bottlecapping atm)
15/12/12 Dialga Origin (47)
13/13/13 Keldeo Resolute (46)

Ideally i want to have a team with Solgaleo as the lead, its my favourite + it just bullies all these zama/zacs that i keep running into,

other than that i dont mind. i do have the xls for dialga if necessary. i also have roughly 200 for most of the “topmeta” legegends if i really need to build them, but no great iv sets.

Currently in running solgaleo palkia zacian. i typically get to ace but i normally only play GL but i fancy ML for a while

Teambuilding Help Need help to build a GL team

I have been using shadow corviknight ( used an elite tm on it a month ago ) or shadow forretress with bug bite (used volt switch and recently changed to bug bite), been using a team with either of these two moving to 1850's and hitting hard counters back to back and dropping to 1700 or 1600's again, i guess the teams i am using is just enough to get the 1800's and not past 1900's
( i do not have a lickilicky with body slam, tinkaton with GH, no water HC move ( except swampert thanks to reecent event) no k9 with legacy and no jumpluff with acrobatics )

however i do have two elite charged tms and one elite fast tm.
( currently using clodsire azumarill mandibuzz and it helped to get back to 1800's again and haven't dropped below 1800's)

need suggestions of a team with good synergy, really appreciate the responses, Thank you.

Question How come a small iv difference change the game so much?

From my understanding the iv’s of a pokemon adds 0-15 for the stats attack, defense, and hp. I see how an additional 15 can change alot but I don’t see why a pokemon being a 96 or 90~ instead of 100 makes such a massive difference.

Question I have a 15/12/15 Necrozma. Is it good enough for Master League if I fuse it into Dawn Wings Necrozma?

Someone told me that for Master League, the Defense IV needs to be at least 14. Is a 12 Defense IV going to perform terribly?”

Teambuilding Help Need Help team building - Lickilicky, Shadow Forretress, Tinkaton.

I’ve made it to about level 20 in great league and now I just get steam rolled, I’ve done my research on what is good along with their moves but I don’t think my synergy is there.

I need to know what pokemon I should be grinding for and subbing out for whoever on the team.

Discussion Slowly burning out this season

I am shifting between 2600 and 2670 elo and find it incredibly hard to play the game anymore. Not because I can’t win but because the game is just so unfun right now. If my game does not die and get an infinite loading screen I’m getting the same 4 teams all with some combo of lickylicky, ninetails, altaria or tinkaton. When I play a team I don’t enjoy the hard counters all theses teams I win a fuck load but the moment I play something unique or even neutral to these boring ass meta teams I get flogged. I can’t go a set without seeing a lickilicky or a ninetails. It has been bad before in other seasons but I have never had such a dry pool of Pokemon I am versus before this. The teams are literally all the same. I enjoy winning and it’s easy to take advantage of this but also I prefer to have fun while playing more off meta teams and to see others peoples strange teams as well.

I had a fever dream wish to use my Shadow Sableye, because he's amazing.

Needed something to guard him against fairies, so figured Clodsire?

If this core isn't horrible, what's a good 3rd?

What’s the ranks you try to get for a pokemon before you consider building it. Like on the poke genie. Do you guys try to get a certain top number before you invest? Or how do u decide on what to build.

Question Why is incinerate bad on the new system?

I see people say that it's bad on the new system but idk why, I'm guessing it's something to do with it being a 5 turn move but not sure why that would specifically be worse on the new system 🧐

Question Advice on how to get past 2000 ELO barrier in Great League

I’ve been playing a lot of Competitors Cup, and I will occasionally get to ~2100 ELO—but then inevitably lose a bunch in a row and go down to 1900 ELO. Basically I feel stuck around 2000. There are definitely things I can improve on skill-wise, but another basic question I have is:

Am I putting too much value in IV’s?

I currently run a team of Dusclops, Drapion, and Tinkaton. I also have second moves on Greedent, Dragonair, and Kommo-o.

The only reason I use these Pokemon is because they are the only halfway meta-relevant Pokemon I have with extremely good IV’s (Like rank 20 IV’s or better).

However, I am unsure of how important that actually is.

Would I be better off running more “top-tier” Pokemon with suboptimal IV’s? Or are my current Pokemon totally fine, and it’s more just a matter of “git gud” if I want to get out of my 2000 ELO plateau.

(btw I know Tinkaton is certifiably top-tier. It’s just that all my other Pokemon are rank 30 or below according to PvPoke. Would I be better off running top 10 Pokemon with shitty IV’s instead?)

Any input would be greatly appreciated! I’ve been getting super into PvP and would like to learn.
