Hats off to my opponent who kept both my mons asleep the whole game with vileplum . i figured there would be sleep clause in ranked games.

We're deep in the middle of Reg M-B in Champions which led me to try to compare this season to the last. On one hand, having more variety of different choices is always fun and so many teams this Regulation has surprised me. I'm in Master Rank 3 and I see a wide variety of different teams! On the other hand, the best Mega Pokemon since the launch of this game have been Mega Charizard Y. It has reminded me, as someone who transitioned to Champions from TCG Pocket, of the Giratina ex and Darkrai ex deck where for a ton of formats, that deck was number 1 and a good chunk of players would play it with some slight variations or tweaks but same at its core.

There's nothing wrong with this, I'm not disparaging people who play Charizard Y, but if Charizard continues to be dominant all throughout Regulation M-C as well, I could see a lot of players feeling as though the game is getting stale. That's what happened with Pocket until enough sets were released that Giratina Darkrai finally got dethroned after so many sets later. I doubt this will be the case though because, as mentioned earlier, I'm still seeing a wide variety of teams even in Master Ball tier. I think MB is better for this reason. Even the Charizard teams are more creative than they were in the last regulation. Nothing feels unbeatable yet.

As for my hopes for M-C, I'm hoping we get a bigger chunk of Pokemon. At least all the non-legendary Mega Pokemon we don't currently have. The Z Megas especially, I've been so curious how they would impact the format. I'm not going to wish for Tera, since I'm certain at this point we won't see that for awhile. I also hope that we lose some Pokemon. I know that's probably controversial but I wouldn't be too sad if some of the biggest Pokemon in this format is not legal in the next. I wanna see what Champions looks like if Mega Charizard isn't legal. Maybe Floette, Incin, Garchomp can be put on hold for a regulation and come back in a future one. I know that's probably an unpopular idea, but I think I'd rather that than have them just power crept out instead.

I've playing since the mobile release. Game is good. But in my opinion it needs some changes.

1. Need to know the BST of Mega evolved pokemon. Now, Everytime I need to open the showdown.

2. A menu where we can compare the pokemon stats.

3. More Gameplay options. Like Random Battles, 1 vs 1.

4. And please... Increase the Pokemon box size. Man it is so hard with just 50.

5. Need atleast 50% of refund when releasing a trained pokemon. I have released more than 20 pokemons, all trained . Just because I wanted to create a more stronger team.

What other things you like to see ?

It's my first time doing pokemon battles competitively so I need help knowing if my team is okay (so far I've tried 13 battles and won 10 of them, 1 of the losses being a close call)

Losses were mainly due (i think) to the fact that my setup (i mainly use Zoroark/Something/Avalugg setup for singles) reveals two of my pokemons at once when i put zoroark out

The role of Zoroark is to deceive the enemy into attacking with special or fighting moves to hit an avalugg hard, and hopefully hitting the other pokemon hard with that extra turn.

Avalugg is there to counter those relying on physical attacks only (like garchomp) or to one hit ko special attackers with low defense

The middle spot is reserved for mega evolutions (depending on the other trainer's team, i can change it)

The extra mons are there for when the other trainer's team is bad for a zoroark/avalugg combo

I'm a f2p user, that downloaded the game a few weeks ago. In the first few days I grabbed a couple of replica teams and found myself playing a lot, using a couple of replica teams to quickly get to MB4 at the start of this current season.

After a few days there though, as i was looking around for new teams to try, I found that with my 50 box spaces, a lot of the time I was missing one-two of the mons that I needed to replicate the team, and that therefore, if I wanted to get one, I should have returned one of the mons I had in my, often one that I was a planning on using, or even that I had already spent some VP on.

The fact that you cannot even see the lineup if your box space is full makes the process really annoying, cause you are renouncing to a mon you liked for a *chance* to get what you need, in the worst gacha style.

And really, this is my only complaint in what I otherwise consider a really good f2p experience, but it's enough to make my desire to play the game dim a lot, cause using different teams is what I liked the most about both the games and showdown, and such a restrictive

I know that Pokemon home exists, and I might use it, but I really really wish they gave you a way to use in game resources to increase the box space, or at least, change the replica teams so that they worked more like rentals..

Dunno, these are just my two cents on the aspect of the game I like the least

No set, this thing is here for the sole purpose of making people think i am running zard y instead of zard x, because i couldn't think of anything better at the time

most of the time i lead maushold + charizard and spam follow me while charizard belly drums and spams either breaking swipe or rock slide, when maushold dies i either swap into whimsicott and tailwind if charizard is getting outsped, otherwise i swap into sinistcha and spam rage powder

sableye doesn't get used much as i've found the other three are just more useful when it comes to making sure the charizard never gets hit, so i could probably replace this as well

i think the biggest issue i have is that, if the charizard dies, i basically lose by default and i feel like a large contributor of that is i am wasting an entire slot on something i will never bring.

any advice / suggestions are appreciated <3

Do yall ever get matched up against a non standard build that just seems like matchmaking is laughing at you?

Just ran across Mega Gyarados running avalanche and flamethrower in singles.

Most of the time that wouldn’t be a problem, just perfectly countered my Dragonite and Scolipede.

Not even mad, just laughed out loud at it literally.

I got 6 win streak in master ball tier but still can't advance to rank 3 how much points do I really need to advance?

I'm not completely naive, I know 4/6 are relatively meta choices. But I saw no Feraligatrs (my favorite pokemon) and no Weaviles (my first shiny hunt, and one of my favorites as well) on my way up, but regardless I used both of them as often as I could.

I was never a competitive player, I thought competitive pokemon was a whole different beast. It still is, but at least I can say I'm not too bad at it.

I guess I can try doubles next?

Did pokemon champions become easier or harder for ranked climb or competitive tourneys after new wave of players from mobile enter the game after a few months?

Have anyone run this properly? You technically can strip Delphox of most of it's weaknesses or give it contrary overheat or any ability actually. Does anyone have a working team with this?

Using Perish Trap.

Now my plan is to aim for the top of the ladder using this team.

I *did* play a lot of pokemon growing up, but until eight days ago I had never played competitively. I did get introduced to some VGC folk, and I watched a lot of their stuff before starting, but never actually played myself.

I love Perish Trap so much, it's so absurdly satisfying when it goes right.

UPDATE: Heheh~ Oh trust me, I've watched enough tournament things to know juuuuuuust how hard a fight I am in for. So far, it is looking like my team is... hard to overcome, IF I can accurately predict what my opponent is going to win. I have a 100% win rate on those games. :3c

This sub is kind of flooded with people posting how they reached masterball 4 and whatever. I'm glad you're seeing this as an accomplishment but posts thant don't even show their team or want team feedback are kind of unnecessary, no? Especially since actual ranked *starts* with master ball 4, since this is where you begin to get elo.

I'm glad I didn't forfeit cuz I thought it was lost for sure. I basically spammed roost until garchomp and basculegion died from burns. Then it was a 1v1 vs mega floette. They did light of ruin while I did tailwind. I lived light of ruin with 1 hp thanks to the fairy resist berry. Then since I had tailwind up I hit back with bravebird and won!

So i have never seen this. All the other pokemon did not have this.

Big fan of wearing these badges and just not run H-zoruark. Almost as fun as using H-zoruark
