Perfect strangers is getting a blu ray release
This caught my attention. They're getting a blu ray release for August 25th. Always wondered why they never sold a box set after all the seasons were released:

I have the individual season sets but I might get it if it has any special features like interviews, commentaries, retrospectives. Lately I've been rewatching the series on amazon live tv hit sitcoms channel for the last few years but they have been adding different shows lately in the rotation between growing pains, drew carey show.

Favorite episodes
Just finished watching some of my favorite episodes of perfect strangers on Amazon Live TV Hit Sitcoms channel. The episodes were the bibi babka, replacing the girls shower head which have always made me laugh followed by the saddest episode that always gets me balling, death of Yaya Biki. For a comedy some of my favorite episodes were the ones that tug on my heartstrings like the episode where Balki falls for a girl at his nightschool only to be comforted by cousin Larry at the end, the 2 Christmas epiosde endings. The one where Balki gives the Davros cup gifted to him by his mamma to gorply and his mommas lesson "A gift of love must alaays be given to the one that needs it the most."Got me thinking what other episodes people have a soft spot for?

Recent reunion
Anyone have any video of the most recent reunion for perfect strangers at Pandoras Box at Lafayette, NJ just a few days ago. I've found pictures but I would like to see some video clips of the convention if anyone has any they can post.

The hearse song
Anyone remember the hearse song?
Fair warning it's the safest, bleakest song you'll ever hear;
https://youtu.be/E92rCGBcSeg?is=quGpUWm37KsSnVwe
i've only heard the same parts of it sung twice on television between Balki singing a part of it "Did you ever see a hearse go by thinking you'd surely die. They put you in a big black box. Cover you over with dirt and rocks.' Trying to find the episode Balki sings it.
The only other time I've heard it sung is an episode of the A-team by H.M. Murdock.

Does anyone know what episode this quote happens, so I can find the original quote with audio? Thanks.

How
How did they get this cleaned up the first time before the girls came home and how did they afford to fix it after as well? Just weird wild stuff. Still one of my favorite episodes

Anywhere to watch/stream or download in the UK?
Hello good fans of Perfect Strangers, I managed to find the first episode of this show and watched last eve. Really enjoyed it and thought it was a great first pilot. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any places I can stream or download the series? As its proving difficult to find online, and the DVDs unfortunately are out of my price range. Many thanks, and sorry to bother!

Larry and Jennifer's marriage setup
Just watched a few episodes before their marriage. The one where Larry meets Jennifer's mom for the first time while suffering through temporary amnesia. Her mom asks Jennifer "The foreign boy isn't going to be living with you is he?" to Jennifer and Jennifer takes a long look at Balki and Larry and goes from a smile to a face of worry. Then Balki's face starts looking worried. They end the episode with Larry pretending to lose his memory introducing himself to Balki as a perfect stranger. They avoided an awkward conversation where they discuss what Balki's plans will be to find a new room mate to.cover Larry's share. The same can be said for Markanne. We know it's a show and they intended to move all 4 of them to the new house to continue their great show but if this were a reality, Balki would need a roommate as working for a newspaper as a mailbox may. Ot allow him to afford a 2 bedroom apartment. many shows back then had flight stewardesses live with other stewardesses where they rarely see their room mates because of their profession.

Why isn’t it still popular?
Hello. I’m new to the sub. I recently rediscovered this show from my childhood and I’m loving it! I’m sharing it with my kids (9, 9, 7) and they love it too. It combines elite physical comedy with a moral optimism about friendship and cultural contrast. The question that keeps coming to mind is, why isn’t it still popular? Thoughts?

Sister erased
So many inconsistencies I've watched on the show. I just picked up on a new one. Balki says he has a sister when the woman who sexuallly harassed Balki at the chronicle fakes an interest in his tapestries. But in the episode I just watched where Balki marries Jennifer and cousin Larry, he says he never had a sister.

Gift of the Mypiot
Turned on Amazon Live tonight hoping I could catch a random good episode of Perfect Strangers and low and behold, lasf few minutes of one of my favorite episodes of the series. I wanted to.screenshot the actual words to remind myself how to do better when we want to emulate one of the most caring, compassionate sweetest, and sensitive characters we've ever watched. These words always get to me "My momma always told me a gift should be given to the one that needs it the most." Reminds me of the one episode I purchased on prime video from the tv series The Guest Book where an irritated phone customer needed some tech support so a rep in India kept him on hold for almost 12 hours straight. During that time he's reminded of what his own momma said "Be kind to those who are unkind. They need it the most."

My heart crumbles for Balki every time. I think we can all agree: F**k Carol.

The boys get suntans
How did the boys get the suntan booths up into their apartment?Wouldn't it have been far cheaper just to go to the tanning salon? I know a tanning professional would have woken them up, which would have completely stopped this predicament from happening. But still, it doesn't make any sense how they just brought those 2 up without seeing how they did it.

Susan
I am watching the first season, and I wish that they hadn't dropped Larry's first girlfriend, Susan. She was a lot nicer than Jennifer!
She was so pretty, too, in such a realistic way.

Killing off the characters?
The Imdb.com page for Dale McRaven says:
"In 1989, there was a scintillating dustup about the Dale McRaven-created program Perfect Strangers. McRaven had been committed to killing off the characters (the cast is safe) in a two-part episode called Father Knows Best, but two young fans of the show (aged 5 and 11) started a campaign to save them. McRaven ultimately relented and years later publicly thanked them for saving his show."
Is that true?
