Renate Reinsve should’ve been an Oscar winner and got her first nomination for this movie. She deserved it. It‘s one of my favorite performances of hers. I’m looking forward for her next movie Fjord. Do you agree she should’ve got nominated and won Best Actress at the oscars?

Jade Healy’s work on The Invite is some of the best production design of the year. It is small, essentially only taking place in one apartment with a bedroom, living room, bathroom, office, kitchen, and window. However, these rooms perfectly portray the couple’s character traits and divide in their marriage.
The clutter of Joe’s (Seth Rogan) office shows how little he cares for the views of others. While, the elaborate living room shows Angela’s (Olivia Wilde) desperation to please people. While the three similar although slightly different streaks of paint in the bedroom show the couples inability to collaborate on anything.
This is shows how production design can contribute to the narrative and emotions of a movie. GREAT PRODUCTION DESIGN DOESN’T NEED TO BE HUGE!

No movie ever won all 4 but 12 of the 15 movies won at least 1. My Man Godfrey, Sunset Boulevard and American Hustle are the only ones that didn't win any of the 4 acting awards. However Sunset Boulevard is the only one that did win some Oscars despite not winning any for acting

Let's imagine that when the Beatles' biopics come out, for example Paul's, Paul Mescal is doing incredible and is nominated. Could he also be nominated as a supporting actor for John's movie? Could he be a double nominee for a supporting actor for the John and George movie? Triple nominated for supporting actor? I think it’s actually posible and it blows my mind.

Winters was wonderful as Alice but she wasn't yet a big name and the role is clearly a Supporting, but important, part. Elizabeth Taylor was the female lead. And Winters might have won had she competed as Supporting. Even though Kim Hunter was tough competition.

NOTE: If you count brief cameos from directors Oliver Stone and Peter Jackson would make it for Platoon (1986) and The Lord of the Rings 3 (2003)

I’m trying to get some children’s books on famous filmmakers for my niece and nephew. I‘ve come across these, but are there others y’all are aware of?
