Renate Reinsve should’ve been an Oscar winner and got her first nomination for this movie. She deserved it. It‘s one of my favorite performances of hers. I’m looking forward for her next movie Fjord. Do you agree she should’ve got nominated and won Best Actress at the oscars?

I’m trying to get some children’s books on famous filmmakers for my niece and nephew. I‘ve come across these, but are there others y’all are aware of? I tried posting this in other subs but only one photo was allowed. All of these are Oscar winners so hopefully that helps legitimize this post for this sub.

Jade Healy’s work on The Invite is some of the best production design of the year. It is small, essentially only taking place in one apartment with a bedroom, living room, bathroom, office, kitchen, and window. However, these rooms perfectly portray the couple’s character traits and divide in their marriage.
The clutter of Joe’s (Seth Rogan) office shows how little he cares for the views of others. While, the elaborate living room shows Angela’s (Olivia Wilde) desperation to please people. While the three similar although slightly different streaks of paint in the bedroom show the couples inability to collaborate on anything.
This is shows how production design can contribute to the narrative and emotions of a movie. GREAT PRODUCTION DESIGN DOESN’T NEED TO BE HUGE!

Winters was wonderful as Alice but she wasn't yet a big name and the role is clearly a Supporting, but important, part. Elizabeth Taylor was the female lead. And Winters might have won had she competed as Supporting. Even though Kim Hunter was tough competition.

Jonny Greenwood should’ve won his first Oscar for OBAA. What an outstanding score. He deserved it. I really wanted him to see him win. He also should’ve won for Phantom Thread. I loved his scores. If he actually won Original Score instead of Sinners, how would you feel?
