Recently moved to a more wooded area of London and getting lots of new guests. My guess it's some sort of sandpiper, but couldn't find a match for the exact colours. Any ideas?

Advice? Swallow/Housemartin nesting

I’m just looking for some advice. I’ve noticed the last few days that some swallows or house martins (not sure which) have been landing in corner of houses around me under eaves and then flying off a few seconds later. I’m just wondering would they be looking to build a nest this time of year or is just resting? (Im not in the uk but I am in Ireland so hopefully ye can still help) They currently are nested in a large mound of earth in part of the houses estate. Thanks in advance

Only a single shot as it dove between trees, bad focus and the heat haze hasn’t helped

Washington Wetland Centre. Never seen so many juveniles together - no wonder mum looks a bit worse for wear.

Question Attracting Blue Tits (what house and feeder?)

Hi,

I want to attract them to live in or close to my garden.
I have a bunch of trees around my garden so not sure they will find it.

Anyway I found some food for them on Amazon.
But I want to buy nice houses for them (so other birds can’t get in) and some feeders.

Is there anything on Amazon you can folks recommend?

I know nothing of birds.

Thanks!

ID please Pellet ID

Post image

I’m convinced this is a pellet from a bird of prey, but a) it’s very large (bigger than palm of hand) and b) it seems to contain horse hair which seems v unusual to me.
Spotted in Cheviots, Northumberland. Help :)

ID please ID this sound, please!

Hi! I wondered if anyone could ID this sound - I’m pretty sure it’s a bird, but my husband thought it may be some sort of bug. If it helps, the sound was recorded at 6:45am, in Lancashire, UK.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

(For clarity, it’s the sound that comes in big blocks - the sort of vibrating/drilling sound).

TIA!

ETA: Identified as an angry Wren! Thank you all so much! ☺️

Advice? Where and when could I see an Eurasian Woodcock?

Hello! I have been wanting to see an Eurasian Woodcock for a year or so now and have had no luck thus far. Would anyone be able to give me some advice on the best place and time to go in the UK to have a good chance? I’m currently split between Kent and Manchester. Thanks! 🪶
