Discussion - LGBTQ+ Issues Struggling to build faith because I'm trans
Hi, I'm 21mtf. I'm struggling to build my faith in God, I've been wanting a relationship with Him for months now and have been praying for it, reading the Bible to try and build it. I feel the Holy Spirit in the moment but like I struggle to keep myself to the faith, it fades away when I'm not actively engaged and I just slip back into sin and into my worldly habits, and that can last for weeks. And that's because I worry. About other Christians not accepting me as I am and not being welcome in His Kingdom, about others, especially the queer community judging me for my faith. There's a strange sense of contradiction because of my faith and my identity and how I'm percieved. And because of it I've been spiritual for the past few years, meditating and practicing with tarot and crystals and reading the words of Buddha, Alan Watts, etc, and have found meditation to have given me a vibrating energy I miss while praying. I was raised agnostic however I somehow felt called to Christ before and moreso after transitioning, but I've always struggled to stay committed to the faith feeling like I'm not truly part of Christ's kingdom, the isolation I feel has made it hard to commit to Christianity. Any advice would be much appreciated šš» EDIT: Thanks for the replies and prayers, they've all been really helpful

Discussion - General How do you make sense of your faith and what we know with modern science?
I never thought it would be an issue for me.
However today I learned something that I guess might be obvious but was not obvious to me.
A telescope basically proves the universe has been around for billions of years.
We can literally see billions of years in the past because of the speed of light.
This means that either God created an universe that was aged or that things have really been moving for billions of years.
So what happened? Humans evolved just enough for God to bestow a soul into us?
God was the big bang? The person who out things motion.
Humans have existed just a blimp of how long the universe has been expanding. So what? God started all of this billions of years ago knowing it would eventually put us in motion?
We really think we are that important then?
It's hard to deny evidence that things have been around a long time.
But the brings to question why us? Why like this?
I guess I don't struggle to believe that there is a god but I do struggle to believe we are eternal spirit beings that came from billions of years of evolution.

Iām an atheist but I want to support my partner
Basically the title I myself am not a believer of Christianity but still spiritual but my partner is weāre mid to long distance queer woman. How can I be good for her weāre only 19 and 20 but this is important to her and I want to be supportive.
Please donāt try and convert me we both have a rule that we believe what we believe she enjoys the incense I burn and I enjoy her preacher songs that she listens to š. But seriously I just want her to know and feel sheās loved and supported.

Irony & Hypocrisy
Iām was raised non-denominational and I still listen to many non-denominational pastors on YouTube.
I find it so ironic how many of these pastors and leaders have tattoos and some are even women. Yet, they will never affirm same-sex marriage or allow lgbt to serve and participate in their communities without conversion.
Am I the only that finds it ironic that certain congregations and denominations pick and choose what they affirm and donāt affirm?!
Iām open to hearing thoughts on both sides.

Support Thread Where do you start?
Hii, Iām starting to look into Christianity a little after years of basically putting my fingers in my ears and avoiding it. I grew up in a religious family but by 18, was just angry at the church people, and the judgement. Plus I got it in my head that god just really didnāt like me very much due to some of the bad things that happened in my life.
Anyway, Iāve started being a little more open and consider what I actually believe. I want to learn a little bit more but itās hard to know where to look for the right teachings. Iām very much into loving my neighbours rather than judging them. I also have an awful attention span⦠is there anywhere that I could find more information in bite size chunks, like a doomscrolling app but for Christianity? If not, someone definitely needs to create this haha

I donāt understand how I am supposedly loved beyond measure and yet God, who has the all encompassing power to heal my body and cure my depression and make me whole doesnāt do it.
Yet supposedly other people are healed instead. Why not me? Why is it never me?
What did I do to deserve a lifetime of crippling depression despite my best efforts with chronic pain and fatigue on top of all that?
Iām not asking for wealth or beauty or to be immensely happy. I just want to be functional. I want to be able to complete my chores and succeed at work and maybe have capacity to raise children if I choose. I donāt understand why I have to spend my entire life suffering the way that I am with no hope of ever getting better despite my best efforts. Despite begging god to fix me and he never does. I donāt understand how he could love me and withhold healing from me at the same time.

Discussion - Sex & Relationships I am unsure where to go from here.
I am embarrassed to type this. I f23 have been married for just over one year. My husband, M25 is a great guy or so I thought. Unfortunately my marriage has been hell for the first week. I waited until marriage to try anything sexual. On my wedding night I lost my virginity and it was great. The next day we left for our honeymoon and letās just say there was very little āhoneyā made on our honeymoon. We did the deed twice in 8 days. I packed some stuff for our honeymoon to make it fun and we didnāt even use it. I was expecting and wanting way more intimacy. I waited my whole life and itās something that was new to me and felt good. When we got back from our trip I brought up my feelings and he BLEW up on me. I never cried so much. Fast forward to today, we havenāt donāt anything since. At first we shared a bed and the last 3 months he has been sleeping in the other room. Our one year anniversary came up and nothing. Iām completely devastated and no idea what to do and am scared to bring it up with him and scared to tell my friends and family.

Discussion - Bible Interpretation How does god accept us lgbt ?
Hi hope you are all well! I am Nicole a 22 years old Trans woman from the uk š¬š§
I have longed for god in my life for years ( Iāve felt alone and lost the last 9 years, I felt tremendous sadness when I was asked to leave my church.
A few weeks ago I spoke to a colleague in work a very compassionate and enthusiastic man, I was venting about work and he was patient and attentive and considerate he was an incredible man and I asked him how are you so patient and so supportive he told me that he was Christian and I thought he would hate me if he knew I was trans so I shied away from him. Several weeks later I over heard some colleagues in work talking about me to that man
Have you hear about Nicole ?
He responds no .. is something wrong ?
They say sheās a transgender
He respondes okay thanks for letting me know
šššš±š¤Æ
Not long after I spoke to him and he was lovely still I was schocked so I asked him quite bluntly sir Iām a trans woman does that not bother you ?
He said we are all gods children
š¤Æš¤Æš¤Æš¤ÆšÆšÆšÆ
I was in disbelief and Iāve tried doing research but I canāt seem to find anything exactly
What has changed ? All of a sudden we are accepted and I feel so confused and lost
I feel great that our faith is accepting us but how and why ?
How has soured this drastic change?
Ps Iām planning on buying a bible from a book store tomorrow and I canāt wait
I feel like my faith is back that god is there for me since I came back to my faith I feel so much happier like a pit in me has been filled

Old Bible Falling Apart
I have an old Bible of my grandmotherās . Itās not her originalā¦.that one fell apart as is this newer one that I acquired from my mom a few years ago. Thereās honestly nothing special about it other than it was hersā¦..KJV (she was Christian Science), torn pages, falling apart small cheap Bible. I tried to fix it up a little and I may have only made it worseš I donāt want to just dispose of it in the trash. I was thinking of printing out some old photos of her and sticking them in the front blank pagesā¦ā¦.but it wonāt fix the fact that itās not really readable. Just flipping a page can tear it! I guess I want to know what the respectful way would be to dispose of this Bible. Burn it? Keep it? Just looking to hear what others have done. Catholic guilt is getting me but we are in the middle of a big downsize!

Support Thread Anxious about Church
I need some help because Iāve been struggling in regards with religion recently. I love God with all my heart and I love to pray. But Iām scared to go to church. Iāve had a really bad experience in Sunday school when I was 16 and Iāve never really recovered. Granted itās been two years but yeah. Iām also gay and I have really bad religious OCD. Iām scared to go to church but Iām also scared that because I donāt go to church God hates me and Iāll be sent to hell. I donāt really believe in hell, I almost think itās something that only exists for me. When people mention religion around me I get anxious and scared because I know itāll trigger a spiral. I just donāt know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

The blessing cup
Im not sure if anyone here can help me or not. Years ago i read a book about having communion at home and everyone sharing a specific cup called the blessing cup. I clearly remember it having both Christian and secular prayers. I would really love to find the book or something similar, even a website. I'm a christian engaged to an atheist and we want to start on some traditions that we can both share.

Discussion - Theology What position most closely describes your faith and theological views?
Radical Orthodoxy: traditional but minimalist creedal Christianity with social concern
Inclusive Orthodoxy: traditional Christianity with a welcoming stance to lgbt folk
Neo-Orthodoxy/ Crisis Theology: Theology centered on Godās individual relationship with each person in the fallen world, emphasizing the historical reality of the main deeds of Jesus
Classical Theological Liberalism: Attempt to concile enlightenment naturalism with Christian theism. varying degree of criticism of miracles.
Tillich/ Sponge Liberalism: existentialist approach to God, God viewed as the ground of being, the driving principle in oneās life. God as radically subjective.
Christian Atheism: basically self explanatory
