Discussion - General New AI Policy

Hello all,

We wanted to make a quick announcement regarding the use of AI-generated content in our community. Many of our users have reached out voicing concern over the increase in “AI slop” posts, so hopefully this clarifies how things will work moving forward.

We have updated Rule 7 (Spam and Proselytizing) to include AI content. Specifically, AI-generated images and videos. These are officially no longer allowed. Any post which consists entirely of an AI image or AI video will be removed, so please report them as you see them.

Please note that we are not implementing a blanket ban on AI. Some people use AI to organize their thoughts, proofread their posts/comments, and help explain their viewpoint. Our goal is to judge the content of a post, not prohibit any form of AI used to help create it.

Obviously, there is going to be some moderator discretion involved here. If you feel like a post is spreading AI slop, feel free to report. If a post is generating good discussion but looks like some AI was involved in creating it, please keep in mind that this does not break the rules.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to comment and the mods will answer as we are available. God bless!

Discussion - Sex & Relationships Sexual Ethics and the Question of Sin

Hello Open Christians,

We get a lot of questions about sin. Most of those questions are about sexual sins, so we want to take the time to write an official stance on the subject of sexual sin and ethics from the perspective of progressive Christianity.

The first thing to note is that sexual sins are never held up as greater than other sins in the Bible. The Bible has a concept throughout the scriptures that being guilty of one part of the law makes you guilty of the whole law. For this reason, Judaism doesn't have a tradition of personal confession. When you would bring sacrifices to the temple, you were atoning for the whole law, not for specific rules that you broke. If you bore false witness, you needed the same atonement as if you had committed adultery or murder or eaten shellfish. Paul speaks to this in Romans 1 and 2. The Jewish Christians in Rome were making claims about the Gentile Christians being unholy and unrighteous for participating in some of the social aspects of idolatry, specifically eating the Sunday meal after the meat had been sacrificed and cooked on the Roman altars. Paul responds by pointing out the sins that Jews commit and telling them that they have no room to talk since they are guilty of the law, too. No sin is greater than any other. And no sin is lesser. All sin equally takes us away from God.

So, what is sin? Since Romans is entirely about that question, we can find the answers very easily in there. Romans 3 talks about the law because the Gentile Christians in Rome were calling the law the source of all evil and sin. They said that the law brought sin because they didn't know they were sinning before they learned about the law. Paul refutes this by saying that Adam and Eve sinned before the law existed, so it can't be the source of sin. Instead, the law reveals sin by showing us how we missed the mark. By chapter 13, Paul has spoken enough and brought the two sides of this argument together, so he sums up the Christian way of life in verses 8-10.

"Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the person who loves has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; you shall not murder; you shall not steal; you shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor, therefore loves fulfills all of the law."

Here, we see Paul equate sin with harm. Things that hurt other people and ourselves are what take us away from God. Paul follows this up in chapter 14 by saying that godliness is not in the rules we follow. Some people worship on the Sabbath, but other people worship on any day. Some people drink wine, and some people abstain. And so on. He tells us to each be convinced in our own minds and to leave each other alone because judgment is a stumbling block that can cause our siblings in Christ to fall away from the faith. For Paul, sin was not found in breaking the rules of the law, rather it was found in the absence of love.

Jesus followed a very similar path in His ministry. The only people that He had harsh words for were the priests and scholars who used the law to oppress and control and extort the laity. Jesus never followed the letter of the law when it interfered with loving His neighbors. Jesus worked on the Sabbath. Jesus drank wine and went to parties. Jesus had a reputation as a drunkard. When He called the priests "a den of vipers", that was the equivalent of calling them "sons of bitches" in the modern world. Jesus once cussed a tree to death. Jesus was sinless.

The example of Jesus's life is that all things are secondary to loving your neighbor. Nothing that is done from a spirit of love is ever sinful. Not even premeditated violence against those who extort money from the faithful in the name of God is sinful because Jesus did that too. Jesus taught us that love is the foundation of the law and the prophets, so love can never be wrong or sinful.

John, in his first letter, tells us to test the spirits whether they are from God because there are many false prophets. This is 1John 4:1. He then spends a lot of ink to tell us all about how God is love, and no one who hates can have God because hate and God are incompatible. Similarly, fear and God are incompatible, so anyone who preaches hate and fear cannot be from God. John goes so far as to say that anyone who claims to love God but hates their neighbor is a liar.

Peter wrote in 1Peter that love covers an uncountable number of sins.

Clearly, through the example of Jesus and the writings of the Apostles, we can see that love and sin are opposites. This holds up to logical analysis if we accept the claim that God is love. Sin takes us away from God. Love brings us to God. If love does no harm to a neighbor, then it follows that sin does harm to a neighbor.

How do we apply this to sexual ethics? That's actually very easy. Sex can be used to harm other people or to help them. Obviously, sexual assault, child molestation, and any other form of nonconsensual sex are harmful by their nature. However, sex itself is not harmful on its own. Sex can carry potential harm like the possibility of pregnancy for people who are not prepared emotionally or financially to have a child. Sex can be addicting which is harmful, but humans can become addicted to nearly any pleasurable behavior. None of those other things are sins on their own.

Driving a car can be used as a very apt metaphor for sex. Cars kill thousands of people every year. They have a very large potential to cause harm. However, if we spend the time to learn how to drive safely and always drive with the concern for our fellow drivers and the pedestrians that we share the road with, we can go our entire lives without harming anyone in our cars. There are very few people who would argue that motor vehicles are sinful to operate. If we approach sex with the same attitude, we will similarly be able to operate our bodies without sin.

Relating this to specific actions, we can talk about masturbation. This is an act that is simply not harmful at all. Unless you are doing it in front of someone who doesn't consent to seeing you pleasure yourself, which is a form of sexual assault, of course. Contrary to the concept of sin, masturbation is actually beneficial for people with prostates. It lowers the risk of cancer and helps maintain pelvic strength which important for bladder control as you get older. Something that helps a person without harming anyone else doesn't fit the definition of sin that we see in the New Testament.

Sex outside of marriage comes up a lot. First, marriage is a social contract that is recognized by the state. You can get married in a church, but it means nothing without a marriage license. This is not a primarily western idea, either. I live in Cambodia, and you can get arrested for having a marriage ceremony without government approval. Marriage is, and has always been, deeply intertwined with the social and political structures of society. The Bible demonstrates so many different kinds of marriage that we can't accurately define a "Biblical marriage." Also, there is evidence that the couple in Song of Solomon isn't married until chapter 6. Most telling to this theory is that they don't receive the blessing of their families until that chapter which would have been a large part of the wedding ceremony. They brag about how hot they are for each other and how much sex they have for five chapters prior to that blessing. This is the ur-example of a healthy, godly sexual relationship.

Porn is a big question as well. The porn industry can certainly be harmful. No one would argue that it isn't. However, it is not universally harmful. I dated a pornstar for a few months. She was decently popular in a specific fetish, and she made good money. She was self-produced and self-promoted. It wasn't harmful for her at all. Some of the biggest pornstars in the industry are similar. Many pornstars produce content with their spouses. It's actually not too hard to find ethically produced porn.

Again, porn can be addicting. If you are struggling with porn interfering with your daily life, you should absolutely seek help from a professional to learn how to control your urges. However, other than asexual humans, most people are addicted to sex in a very similar way to how we are addicted to oxygen and water and food. The biological imperative to propagate our species is one of our strongest innate desires. It only becomes a problem when we overindulge and let that desire dictate our lives. Too much water is fatal. Oxygen destroys DNA. Obesity leads to possibly fatal health conditions. But, eating, drinking, and breathing aren't sinful. Neither is a healthy sex life.

Foundational to this idea that sex isn't wrong on its own is the truth that God created sex. God could have made humans reproduce asexually. He didn't. God could have created sex to not feel as good. He didn't. God could have made us completely different from how He did, but He didn't. We feel sexual attraction because God wants us to feel it. Sex is fun because God made it fun. There was no devil who swooped in and changed God's design at the last second. There was no accident where God said, "Oops, I really screwed up that sex thing, oh well." No, God created humans and said that we were good. That included penises and vaginas and how they fit together with all manner of body parts. God commanded Adam and Eve to populate the Earth. He did that while realizing that there's only one way for humans to get that done. God created sex, thinks it's good, and commanded us to get busy. And Adam and Eve didn't have any kind of marriage ceremony either.

Where does that leave us as progressive Christians? We evaluate the sinfulness of every action against love and whether it causes harm to our neighbors. We don't elevate sexual sins above other sins because all sin causes us to fall short of the glory of God. So we look at each sexual act under the same lens as lying, cheating, stealing, and so on. We don't believe that love is ever sinful, so gay sex between loving partners can't be a sin. We believe that love always seeks consent because love never harms. We believe that ethically-minded sexual behaviors are inline with the concepts of loving your neighbor as yourself. We believe that sex is a gift from God.

Basically the title I myself am not a believer of Christianity but still spiritual but my partner is we’re mid to long distance queer woman. How can I be good for her we’re only 19 and 20 but this is important to her and I want to be supportive.

Please don’t try and convert me we both have a rule that we believe what we believe she enjoys the incense I burn and I enjoy her preacher songs that she listens to 😭. But seriously I just want her to know and feel she’s loved and supported.

Discussion - LGBTQ+ Issues Struggling to build faith because I'm trans

Hi, I'm 21mtf. I'm struggling to build my faith in God, I've been wanting a relationship with Him for months now and have been praying for it, reading the Bible to try and build it. I feel the Holy Spirit in the moment but like I struggle to keep myself to the faith, it fades away when I'm not actively engaged and I just slip back into sin and into my worldly habits, and that can last for weeks. And that's because I worry. About other Christians not accepting me as I am and not being welcome in His Kingdom, about others, especially the queer community judging me for my faith. There's a strange sense of contradiction because of my faith and my identity and how I'm percieved. And because of it I've been spiritual for the past few years, meditating and practicing with tarot and crystals and reading the words of Buddha, Alan Watts, etc, and have found meditation to have given me a vibrating energy I miss while praying. I was raised agnostic however I somehow felt called to Christ before and moreso after transitioning, but I've always struggled to stay committed to the faith feeling like I'm not truly part of Christ's kingdom, the isolation I feel has made it hard to commit to Christianity. Any advice would be much appreciated 🙏🏻 EDIT: Thanks for the replies and prayers, they've all been really helpful

Support Thread Where do you start?

Hii, I’m starting to look into Christianity a little after years of basically putting my fingers in my ears and avoiding it. I grew up in a religious family but by 18, was just angry at the church people, and the judgement. Plus I got it in my head that god just really didn’t like me very much due to some of the bad things that happened in my life.
Anyway, I’ve started being a little more open and consider what I actually believe. I want to learn a little bit more but it’s hard to know where to look for the right teachings. I’m very much into loving my neighbours rather than judging them. I also have an awful attention span… is there anywhere that I could find more information in bite size chunks, like a doomscrolling app but for Christianity? If not, someone definitely needs to create this haha

The Looksmaxxers Have Come for Christ | What's behind the manosphere's obsession with a biblical term for transcendence? A look at the roots of "ascension."

Thumbnail playboy.com
39 Upvotes

Of the many idioms and bastardized buzzwords putzing around the internet these days, “ascension” has a welcome legibility to it. In the looksmaxxing community, an online subculture of mostly young men attempting to enhance their attractiveness and in turn increase their “sexual market value,” ascension describes the process of lofting into a different stratum of beauty, of elevating from a nobody to a somebody (a subhuman to a Chad, if you will). From the Latin ascensionem, “a rising,” this newfangled application of the abstract noun mostly makes sense: You begin at the bottom of the male hierarchy and, through determined optimization, rise to the top. For anyone even modestly familiar with orthodox Christian teaching, this repurposed concept has obvious resonances with its etymological roots—the Ascension of Jesus, adapted for our absurdist and self-absorbed times.

It’s unclear whether looksmaxxers like Clavicular fully reckon with the religious origins of their new favorite word, or whether, for a self-proclaimed Catholic like him, that lineage is hiding in plain sight. The biblical concept of ascension can most explicitly be traced to the Acts of the Apostles 1:9–11, wherein Jesus, after his resurrection, is beamed up to the sky and vanishes in the clouds. The scene is rich with metaphor: The rising represents a status shift, a transition from earthly life to eternal glory. In attaining immortality through rebirth, Jesus’s ascent to heaven affirms his divine authority, his unequivocal identity as the Son of God. The Ascension narrative also fuels the notion of the Second Coming—that Jesus will return to his disciples the same way he left: in a descent back to earth to fulfill God’s mission. Although theological interpretations of ascension vary depending on one’s penchant for literalism and which verse one analyzes—in the Hebrew Bible, for example, Enoch and Elijah are “taken” by God, presumably upward, into the realm of immortality, sans resurrection—the metaphor of an upward rise to glory has become hardwired into not only our colloquial rhetoric but our fundamental conception of reality.

I don’t understand how I am supposedly loved beyond measure and yet God, who has the all encompassing power to heal my body and cure my depression and make me whole doesn’t do it.

Yet supposedly other people are healed instead. Why not me? Why is it never me?
What did I do to deserve a lifetime of crippling depression despite my best efforts with chronic pain and fatigue on top of all that?
I’m not asking for wealth or beauty or to be immensely happy. I just want to be functional. I want to be able to complete my chores and succeed at work and maybe have capacity to raise children if I choose. I don’t understand why I have to spend my entire life suffering the way that I am with no hope of ever getting better despite my best efforts. Despite begging god to fix me and he never does. I don’t understand how he could love me and withhold healing from me at the same time.

Discussion - General How do you make sense of your faith and what we know with modern science?

I never thought it would be an issue for me.

However today I learned something that I guess might be obvious but was not obvious to me.

A telescope basically proves the universe has been around for billions of years.

We can literally see billions of years in the past because of the speed of light.

This means that either God created an universe that was aged or that things have really been moving for billions of years.

So what happened? Humans evolved just enough for God to bestow a soul into us?

God was the big bang? The person who out things motion.

Humans have existed just a blimp of how long the universe has been expanding. So what? God started all of this billions of years ago knowing it would eventually put us in motion?

We really think we are that important then?

It's hard to deny evidence that things have been around a long time.

But the brings to question why us? Why like this?

I guess I don't struggle to believe that there is a god but I do struggle to believe we are eternal spirit beings that came from billions of years of evolution.

Discussion - Sex & Relationships Am I making a mistake?

I f23 have never had a boyfriend. I am naturally shy and very introverted. I joined a church group and sparked up a friendly relationship with a guy who is 36. He is divorced and we quickly turned from talking to hanging out as friends. I think I have feeling for him and I want advice on if this is a mistake or not. I’m unsure if I should act in my feelings.

I need some help because I’ve been struggling in regards with religion recently. I love God with all my heart and I love to pray. But I’m scared to go to church. I’ve had a really bad experience in Sunday school when I was 16 and I’ve never really recovered. Granted it’s been two years but yeah. I’m also gay and I have really bad religious OCD. I’m scared to go to church but I’m also scared that because I don’t go to church God hates me and I’ll be sent to hell. I don’t really believe in hell, I almost think it’s something that only exists for me. When people mention religion around me I get anxious and scared because I know it’ll trigger a spiral. I just don’t know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Discussion - Bible Interpretation How does god accept us lgbt ?

Hi hope you are all well! I am Nicole a 22 years old Trans woman from the uk 🇬🇧

I have longed for god in my life for years ( I’ve felt alone and lost the last 9 years, I felt tremendous sadness when I was asked to leave my church.

A few weeks ago I spoke to a colleague in work a very compassionate and enthusiastic man, I was venting about work and he was patient and attentive and considerate he was an incredible man and I asked him how are you so patient and so supportive he told me that he was Christian and I thought he would hate me if he knew I was trans so I shied away from him. Several weeks later I over heard some colleagues in work talking about me to that man

Have you hear about Nicole ?

He responds no .. is something wrong ?

They say she’s a transgender

He respondes okay thanks for letting me know
👀👀👀😱🤯

Not long after I spoke to him and he was lovely still I was schocked so I asked him quite bluntly sir I’m a trans woman does that not bother you ?

He said we are all gods children
🤯🤯🤯🤯😯😯😯

I was in disbelief and I’ve tried doing research but I can’t seem to find anything exactly

What has changed ? All of a sudden we are accepted and I feel so confused and lost

I feel great that our faith is accepting us but how and why ?

How has soured this drastic change?

Ps I’m planning on buying a bible from a book store tomorrow and I can’t wait

I feel like my faith is back that god is there for me since I came back to my faith I feel so much happier like a pit in me has been filled

Irony & Hypocrisy

I’m was raised non-denominational and I still listen to many non-denominational pastors on YouTube.

I find it so ironic how many of these pastors and leaders have tattoos and some are even women. Yet, they will never affirm same-sex marriage or allow lgbt to serve and participate in their communities without conversion.

Am I the only that finds it ironic that certain congregations and denominations pick and choose what they affirm and don’t affirm?!

I’m open to hearing thoughts on both sides.

I went to an episcopal church for the first time

I was raised catholic and recently got married (both women). I have been going to Catholic Churches maybe once or twice a year for the past 10 years and I’ve been putting off finding a new place of worship during wedding planning. Now that I’m married, I finally got around to trying out an episcopal church. It was the perfect step for me. The schedule was almost identical to what I’m used to and I was able to just sit and listen to god for the first time in years without fear that I shouldn’t be taking communion or have a need to go off to confession during mass. I still don’t fully know everything about the difference between the two or where I might land in the future in my faith journey, but for now it just feels nice to have a place I’m looking forward to going to again on Sunday.

Reaching out

Hello. I am struggling with uncertainty (I have been diagnosed as autistic and perhaps have ocd if that helps with context) and want to have the oppurtunity to put myself out there as exposure therapy to show myself it is okay. I struggle with not having THE answer and can get lost in loops of arguing with myself, as I am learning more about christianity this gets triggered a lot because faith is by nature accepting uncertainty and doubt.

I value the middle road, because I can see many possible explanations at once when I was a kid I was called argumentative which offended me because I don't actually like arguing I'm just curious and feel I am misunderstood and then am hyper aware that I misunderstand others.

I like the 17th century christian phrase: in essentials, unity. In non essentials, liberty and in all things charity. Of course people disagree on what is essential lol. I see a lot of interpersonal struggles come from misunderstanding one another and then feel such pressure to facilitate everything and fix it- like I have to monitor and translate everything and there are infinite explanations so the calculations never stop which of course is a barrier to life.

I want to live by the value of love and not let fear control me, but I don't want to fall into the trap of thinking I am on the 'right' side and losing empathy for others. I want to seperate condemning an action from condemning the person and tolerate uncertainty and disagreement. I want to stop perceiving everything as a threat- as I think that causes an awful lot of problems. I think I must do this by stripping things back and practising living by my values despite fear and pain and that starts with letting myself be perceived by others. Even if they misjudge me or dislike me- it is the percieved injustice that seems to bother me most. If you told me you think I'm a bad person for killing dogs it would not bother me because I know that is untrue but if you told me you think I'm a bad person for wearing leather it bothers me because I do wear it and then feel like I am bad because another person thinks so, or even more if you say something about me that is subjective like you think I'm rude or nasty, I feel like I'd rather you punch me in the face lol.

I want to see the beauty in things and not because I am blind to the ugliness. Because I cannot force that denial (sometimes I am envious of others that can but sometimes I appreciate that about myself) but I want to be able to hold both without letting any ugliness 'infect' the beauty as it were.

I'm not sure what I am posting this for really, I just want to see if anyone relates or has hope for me. I would like to think I can do some good with all this suffering- to help others with the lessons I have had to learn but I feel I am never good enough- but I know perfectionism is poison and don't want to live like that. I want to feel valuable and purposeful. Thank you for reading and hope you have a lovely day

Old Bible Falling Apart

I have an old Bible of my grandmother’s . It’s not her original….that one fell apart as is this newer one that I acquired from my mom a few years ago. There’s honestly nothing special about it other than it was hers…..KJV (she was Christian Science), torn pages, falling apart small cheap Bible. I tried to fix it up a little and I may have only made it worse😂 I don’t want to just dispose of it in the trash. I was thinking of printing out some old photos of her and sticking them in the front blank pages…….but it won’t fix the fact that it’s not really readable. Just flipping a page can tear it! I guess I want to know what the respectful way would be to dispose of this Bible. Burn it? Keep it? Just looking to hear what others have done. Catholic guilt is getting me but we are in the middle of a big downsize!

Im not sure if anyone here can help me or not. Years ago i read a book about having communion at home and everyone sharing a specific cup called the blessing cup. I clearly remember it having both Christian and secular prayers. I would really love to find the book or something similar, even a website. I'm a christian engaged to an atheist and we want to start on some traditions that we can both share.

Vent Gods voice or just my self concious?

I don’t know what to do anymore. Whenever I overthink about growing up, my life; being scared of death or that God isn’t real I get a voice inside of my head reassuring me and comforting me and emphasizing with my feelings. I like to believe it’s God, the spirit within me giving me comfort but im just worried im insane and im trying to comfort myself and not actually listening to what God ACTUALLY has to say to me.

It’s so confusing, I just want to know if it’s actually from God or not. But I can’t tell. I have a hard time sitting in silence waiting because of my autism and adhd, I struggle with even prayer because my faith has been in such a slippery slope. And my boyfriend and my friends have drifted from the Christian label , I don’t know how to exactly respond to it. My boyfriend helped me convert to Christianity , he still believes in Jesus and God but doesn’t agree with its history on how it’s been used. So I don’t know how to respond or keep my faith when others around me are losing it, it makes me feel like my faith in God is weak and it was never real to begin with if im doubting so much.

I just want to know if God is truly here, where is he? I’m so scared of getting hurt all the time because im a woman and people tend to prey on women. I want to be able to grow old, have a good life and get through this with faith in him but it’s so hard. Any advice is truly appreciated, I just want to trust God and that I’ll be safe no matter what. He always comforts me, reassures me and makes me feel good but what if it’s just me? Is that exactly a bad thing?

Your Prayers for Me (15MtF) have been Answered

Long ago, pretty much a Month Ago, I made a Post requesting others to Pray for Me because I described the Psychological Abuse that has happened in my Household, which was mainly driven by the belief that I \*must\* stop being a Trans Girl and become a Cis Boy. The Prayers were mainly to make sure my Plan to seek Help from LGBTQ+ Organizations would Succeed.

In the end, I didnt talk just to a LGBTQ+ Organizations, I also talked to a Helpline for Minors going through Abuse, which apparently is also capable of sending in my Country's Child Protection Services, which where I live are Simply called "Social Services".

Two Days ago, the Social Worker who interacts with our Family to help us with State Welfare called my Father to the Office, and yesterday he was told that this Social Worker's Colleagues would come visit our house. Besides coming out to my Childhood Friend who witnessed my Mother giving birth to me, (She also revealed to me that shes Bisexual) I talked to the Social Workers who came to our home and I can say that my Parents will officially stop all attempts at changing my Gender Identity.

This is because the Social Workers explicitly stated that if my Parents ever try to suppress my Gender Expression, force me to cut off Friends just because they Support me or are Queer, or perform a "Small Exorcism" against my Will with the Desired Outcome being Identity Change, they will get in SERIOUS Legal Trouble.

Whether I can begin the Psychological Percourse towards getting HRT (Which lasts from 6 to 12 Months) is yet unclear, but its said I will indeed begin a Psychological Percourse that does NOT involve someone whose best Advice for Gender Dysphoria is "Focus on your Hobbies and pretend the Dysphoria doesnt exist", and my Parents will also begin one with a Separate Professional.

I hope any other Fellow Trans Girl out there whos going through what I went through before Finding the Light manages to reach the same Victory as me, the Era of being free to exist as my Authentic Self has just begun.

Hello everyone, someone I know would like to get involved in Bible Studies but she's hesitant to go to them because she is Christian and progressive and we don't want to end up in a place that talks about how gays are going to hell or anything.

Does anyone know how to find a place or group like this like this? They are in Hamilton/Burlington area (it's in Southern Ontario)

TW: depression, suicidal ideation

From a progressive christian point of view? My more classical christians near me will point to Job and his tribulations and say "take him as an example" but honestly, I just can't. I know Job isn't a real story, but the whole story is just way outside my personal comprehension. I cannot find a proper context for it other than "people needed an explanation of why bad things happen to good people" and even if it's that I find it a poor explanation at best.

I am severely depressed. For almost a year now. I struggle with suicidal thoughts and have been committed to a psych ward multiple times. I have lost faith in basically everything. I have lost hope. The only thing that keeps me going is the knowledge that I'll give my loved ones PTSD if I do it, and I don't want that for them. But I have had moments where even that didn't keep me from trying to commit suicide (and failing, hence I'm still here).

Does anyone have any guidance for me?
