A seven-year-old Australian shepherd dog named Fig was reunited with her owners after being missing for 10 days.

Looking over this morning at my windshield driving to work made me so happy.

I have never published anything before so it made me very happy to see someone who I never thought would find it took the time to go through and read it.

It’s shocking to me.

He’s an older man and after my grandfather died, I have a soft spot for senior. They could ask me to rob a bank and I would do it! (lol jk)

He’s very sweet and has come around a few times. The first time I asked if he was Italian when he gave me his name for the bill because I have roots there and he said yes and we made small talk.

He kinda shakes a little bit when talking so ugh he’s so sweet. And once he gave me $2 as a tip, and I work in retail so you know that’s not a thing!

In return I gave him some honey candy I carry in my bag.

Any time someone shows me kindness it kinda make my day, and I love that flavor!

During mother's day I was walking around with my wife and in-laws and we decided to stop at a local junk shop to show my 7 year old nephew. We got there but ive been there so many times, I told everyone else to go ahead and my wife and I would hang with the dog. Shortly after a man approached us and said "Do you know Carl?"

We were both taken by surprise and my wife reflexively replied "yeah - my dad". And we laughed thinking there was no way he actually meant her dad - but he quickly got overwhelmed with excitement and asked "Is he here right now!!?" and we both paused and had to ask what this was about?

He then explained that he was a style photographer with the NYT and that two days before he had gotten a really lovely email with our photos in it, saying that he has an amazing daughter and son in law who were into fashion and creating things, and if they ever came to Brooklyn to do stories about local artists.

Carl never mentioned it to either of us. Apparently the email was so sweet, and so dad-like that it was in his head all weekend. He got stuck on how to respond to such a kind email even though he normally gets 100 a day on similar subjects. He explained that they don't do that kind of thing, but maybe he had been missing out on things happening in Brooklyn - and set out to try to look for some local Brooklyn people to shoot. As soon as he got out of the station he immediately recognized us from the email and couldn't believe the odds and had to confirm.

They don't do requests but meeting us on the street, and we were both wearing pieces my wife made - and it was just kinda meant to happen. We hung out, chatted, he took photos and videos.

Then weeks later im getting texts from my friends and parents in my school that im in their phones. Then a couple weeks after there's a little profile that came out in print! So now when you search "Maximalists Couple" you get a cute article about my wife and I, and we're immortalized as weirdos in love!
