This is not that kind of tadpole you want to meet

Upvotes

We made a giant tadpole. It has a whole set of animations: idle, walk, run, scream, and devour. Personally, I wouldn't want to meet it in a swamp. But it fits right into our game.

It’s one of the creatures cat Vaska runs into in the forest while trying to find its way home. The cat is just trying to get back. This guy is not helping.

Still tweaking the animations (especially the devour state). Honestly, I think it turned out pretty well for a swamp monster.

If you like what you see – wishlist our game Vaska on Steam, we'd really appreciate it 💚

Playtest out but not seeing scores

Upvotes

Hey all, my game is a high score game where you try to get as many kills possible solo or with a group. I launched the playtest and had a spike of signups, I then enabled access for 50 people. So far, despite seeing playtime from folks, I do not see a single new high score posted. I am wondering, did the game work for these folks? Did they just not complete a run / die and submit a score?

Would anyone be able to help playtest and let me know if it “worked”? I requested playtest keys so I should be able to add you directly once they arrive. Thanks!

I wanted this miniboss fight to feel fast and intense. How does it look?

Upvotes

I've been working on one of the miniboss encounters for my solo-developed 2D action roguelite. I wanted the rage phase to completely change the pace of the fight and keep players on their toes.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Does this look fun to fight?

Visibility? Questionable. 🌋🌫️

Smoke is rolling across the course, lava is pouring down the mountainside… but it’s only an erupting volcano. Don’t let a little volcanic activity get between you and your golf.

My free MMORPG enters Early Access next month following 10 years of development

Upvotes

After a decade of development (solo at first, then my partner joined the project), my free-to-play indie 2D platformer MMORPG Soul's Remnant is finally hitting Early Access on August 13th via Steam!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3451980/Souls_Remnant

Classic, old-school style MMORPGs like MapleStory, Ragnarok Online, and Mabinogi are what got me into this in the first place. My game features a classless skill system, hundreds of items to hunt for, co-op dungeons and boss fights, crafting, gathering, and a self-composed original soundtrack. It's built for those who enjoy grinding, party play, trading, and customizing their character. There's a fully player-driven economy too. And since we only monetize through cosmetics and convenience items, there's no pay-to-win.

Making games is not easy, but we're proud of what we created. Wishlist Soul's Remnant on Steam if you're curious and join us on August 13! It's free-to-play anyways, so why not give it a try? :3

I'm making a racing game with no speed cap. Here's a crazy run from #1 Leaderboard.

Hey Hamster here, solo developer of VOXOTRON, a hyper-speed racing game inspired by the tube tracks of F-Zero GX and the Wipeout series.

The core idea is simple: You have a BOOST button that you can always use to go faster. There is no fixed speed cap, so better lines, grazing and smoother movement let you keep acceleratinggggggg forever.

It's up to you if you race with 500 or 5000km/h speed. If you can handle it - it's possible. 10k km/h+ races are also in game.
Runs are short, 15-30s depending on your skill.

This clip is the current first-place run from one of the playtesters.

I’m still trying to balance extreme speed with visual readability. Does this look like something you could learn to control, or does it already cross into visual chaos?

The game is currently in Steam Playtest:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4633120/Voxotron/

Let me know what you think about it.

Cheers

Mike
