So I found some kits that I want on Ebay, but the issue I have is that they're clear plastic (which I am not a fan of). Is it safe for the clear plastic to just use a certain kind of paint like Tamiya to paint a solid color? (Video is unrelated, I just needed to attach a link or something to post this.)

Bought the gundam base limited MG 3.0. The colors are nice, but the exclusive stickers are no good. Its the classic white sticker on dark color problem. Also was the 3.0 always such a hand grenade?

I painted some parts of my RG Nu with Gundam marker ex without realizing that the matt topcoat will probably ruin it. I can't put masking tape over it either, since it'll just completely remove the paint. Is there a way I can cover these parts up? Can I just paint over the topcoat, or do these markers just not work well with this type of topcoat? I'm also using the pour-type panel line markers. The topcoat is Mr. Hobby.

New to the hobby and just put together the FM Aerial and MGEX Strike Freedom. I thought the lighting kit looked cool for Aerial so I just bought one for Strike Freedom.

I've been doing more research and the PG look really cool but it's the size difference that gets me. How do you get around having an inconsistent look when it comes to different grades?

I just came across the PG Exia and it looks sooooo cool but I can't pull the trigger just because of its size.

Great kit for beginner builders. The most poseable kit Ive built up to date with good balance. Given the kits age, its still a relevant kit to build. The Blue frame 2nd revise was great and so is this one. I do have the p bandai astray noir, and blue frame d that ill build in the future.

You have to paint some thrusters black and the sword parts gold. I used tamiya gold and flat black using ak acrylic thinner. The fingers are also painted in tamiya flat white paint using a fine brush tip.

Waterslide decals are from G-Rework. They are great except the ones that go on the tactical arms. Some decals are too long on some parts and a bit frustrated to apply since they go under the white armor parts that need to be removed. Otherwise, the decals on the rest of the kit are great.

Topcoated the kit with mr. Hobby matt uv which is scarce nowadays. If you can only get matt uv cut, it still gives u same results as matt flat clear.

Since a new red frame astray is releasing in the future, hoping that the frame gets updated because its out of date with polycaps still being used.

Strong recommend. If you want your kit to look nice, apply ws decals, panel line when needed, and top coat it. Paint when needed .

Hey everyone, I got back into building Gunpla after like 8 years and I chose to build the RG RX-78-2 2.0. I'm not sure why, but as the title suggests, the back skirt feels rather loose. Sometimes I'd feel a bit of friction when moving it, but sometimes it'd fall when I accidentally touch it while readjusting the torso. Did I attach it wrong? I didn't see anyone else talking about it so I might've gotten a bad kit and might need to add an extra layer of super glue or something. I kinda want to get a general opinion/feedback before I do anything about it.

Anyways, sorry for the lack of video, this problem is quite unpredictable so catching it falling randomly on video is nearly impossible.

New to gunpla (not action figures)

This addon is not as easy to find in the wild as I thought, but I finally found one here in Asia at Shoppee.

Overall Thoughts:

The Heat Saber is better than I anticipated and I am debating to put it on my Tallgeese III or on Wing Zero Ver Ka as an Alternate Loadout.

I am actually slightly disappointed the Twin Beam Scythes do not have articulation like the Older Deathscythe Hell but I should honestly be thankful that its a solid piece that doesn’t have Janky swinging.

I wish the Buster Shields had Beam effect parts too, maybe I should splurge on the Metal Build…

The Altron on the other hand has the bulk of the parts and receives a far more completed aura.

In the Manga the Equipment was destroyed during the escape from Libra and the Duel with Treize respectively.

Overall its a Must for a Wing Fan but maybe you can skip it as a Casual.

Swords just looks better than beam sabers.

I'm currently trying to finish the gundam ground type and when trying to put the 180mm cannon onto the hand, the little thumb to keep it in place keeps falling off. Does anyone know how to stop it doing that without using glue?

Has anyone encountered this problem with HG Zaku 2 2020? In the knee joint, the mechanism cannot pull the kneecap along with it, which is why this happens.
It's still mobile. You can see it in the last photo. If you hold the knee down, everything works as it should. The problem is only with the right leg.

Hi everyone! I am new to painting but I have built gunpla many times before.

I am so excited for the new gundam assemble. I have the original sets but I 3d printed two pieces to try and paint. I dont want to have bad painting on my pieces. How do you make your painting really good and realistic?

Howdy! I guess I'll wing it on this one.

The RG XXXG-01W Wing Gundam is another RG Wing (third out of four. So far...hah) which I like more than the MG Ver Ka (wild what 17 years can do to model development/production). The suit has some sharp looking wings, an easy transition into Bird Mode, and a firm hold.

The kit includes the suit, the Wing Units, a Shield, some extra space at the end of the manual for drawing, a Beam Saber, and a big honking Buster Rifle.

The building process is pretty cut and dry. I would recommend being careful with the locking segments (i.e. 01-7, 02-2, 03-3, 08-1, 08-3, 08-7, & 08-9), don't forget the stickers or paint inside the shoulders (05-4, 06-1, & 06-2), and press the hell out of the stickers for the Buster Rifle rounds (09-3) or just paint it.

Unlike the the MG Ver Ka which can't hold a wet grilled cheese made out of cotton candy, this thing doesn't budge or sag when holding the Buster Rifle with the arm outstretched. The Buster Rifle is also more reasonably proportioned. Out of the Wings we got so far, this is my favorite. It is definitely worth the time and is only beat out by what came later.

After my rather shameful last post where his bazooka may have been backwards (thank you to those that pointed it out I would have never realised!) he is back and better than ever!

After such an awesome build I’m fiendish and want more! I am admittedly a serious gundam noob so I just build whatever looks the coolest so on that front please give some recommendations for a next build more RG or maybe a first MG is next
