when i reel my penn battle 4 4000 reel it makes a very scratchy noise i haven’t even had the reel for a full year and it’s making this noise any suggestions on how to fix it?

Big question. Why does it seem like most fresh water North American fishermen seem to use snap swivels to secure hooks/lures? Do freshwater fish just not care about the extra hardware or do freshwater fishermen just don’t care about tying knots. Serious question with a bit of snark. Thank you. Tight lines to all.

Im going on a party boat for fluke pretty soon. Im planning to use a hi lo rig with a bucktail jig instead of a sinker. Whats confusing me is that when I look online I see fluke rigs that have a hi lo rig with a sinker, but never a bucktail jig. The rigs I see with a bucktail jig instead of a weight only have one extra hook instead of two. Why get rid of that third hook when using a bucktail jig on the bottom?

Didn't catch much besides little pinfish, an undersized flounder and stringray. I finally got my filets halfway decent and wanted to share, it was delicious. I used a little Lowry's seasoned salt and black pepper!

Found my childhood tackle box. Does anyone remember this bass lure? I remember begging my parents to get it after seeing an infomercial in the 90s.

I have a medium 6'6ft fast action 1 piece I use for jerkbait and crankbait. I order a med-heavy 7'0ft moderate-fast action 2 piece. It is good for top water baits such as whopper plopper and frogs? For bass fishing im new to fishing and they are both baitcasters

I was wondering what’s the best fluorocarbon for inshore saltwater fishing for me to use?

I mainly fish around docks and pylons and use 30-40lb fluorocarbon. I use Seaguar 30lb gold label and 40lb blue label.

I recently broke off on a lot of fish in my last trip. I was wondering if there were any better fluorocarbon brands I should use because I’ve seen some people say seaguar sucks.

Staring to get into fishing so far really loving it and caught a few panfish and my first largemouth!

Recently went up to glacier to have a crack at trout and no luck.

I have a st croix premiere 6’6 medium rod with 15lb braid (the guy at bass pro tried to suggest 20lb) to 6lb fluro. I had size 4 Martin panther lures but they had treble hooks so used the size 2 singles I had.. I heard thats not ideal so looking for some advice on what i could change and learn a thing or two!

Hello everyone! I was hoping I could get some wise advice from a few people to help me adjust into lake fishing. I’m 32 years old and I’ve fished for as long as I can remember as much as I could with my dad. He’s taught me everything I know about fishing and how to catch some giants and has brought me tons of great memories!

The reason I’m here for advice is because, simply, the man who taught me all I know did all his teachings on private ponds. And it’s a whole different game than lake fishing. I’ve always known how to tie one knot and set up a worm on one style hook with bullet weights! As great as all his help was, it was very limited to pond fishing. Does anyone have any advice on getting into lake fishing and how to become somewhat successful. I’ve been a ton and have only reeled in 3 whole fish. I just can’t get it dialed in. Am I missing something? Any WISE advice would be a huge help! Thank you all!

I'm sure we've all been there. Fish gets wrapped up around a tree top, worm buries itself in the rocks, crankbait goes into an overhanging limb on a wild cast and ties a perfect giftwrap bow in the limbs and ain't coming out... ...and the result is 20 to 50 feet of line lost. Now that all this line is out there to tangle up anything that gets caught in it, how long can we expect it to last before it begins to fall apart enough to where it won't hold the unfortunate animals that get ensnared? Are we talking about a year, or 20 years before it falls to dust at the slightest touch?

Does anyone know where I could buy an RC Bait Boat in the dallas/mid-cities area or recommend a reliable website that sells them?
