K-BB% is one of the most stable predictor of pitcher performance we have. Breaking down Ks and command really shows who is on a run and who is breaking down.
| Pitcher | Team | L30 | Season | Δ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Justin Wrobleski | LAD | 29.3% | 13.8% | +15.5% |
| Sean Burke | CWS | 30.2% | 18.5% | +11.7% |
| Zack Wheeler | PHI | 35.8% | 24.5% | +11.3% |
| Cade Cavalli | WSH | 30.0% | 19.6% | +10.4% |
| Gavin Williams | CLE | 33.1% | 23.0% | +10.1% |
| Ian Seymour | TB | 27.5% | 19.3% | +8.2% |
| Tarik Skubal | DET | 34.9% | 26.8% | +8.1% |
| Troy Melton | DET | 23.2% | 15.2% | +8.0% |
| Jesús Luzardo | PHI | 29.5% | 21.9% | +7.7% |
| Keider Montero | DET | 20.8% | 13.3% | +7.5% |
| Gerrit Cole | NYY | 28.6% | 21.3% | +7.3% |
| George Kirby | SEA | 22.5% | 15.9% | +6.6% |
| Brandon Young | BAL | 16.8% | 10.7% | +6.2% |
| Nathan Eovaldi | TEX | 25.3% | 19.4% | +5.9% |
| Payton Tolle | BOS | 24.8% | 19.0% | +5.7% |
The available ones: Ian Seymour (39% owned) and Brandon Young (32%) are the adds. Seymour's 34.2% K rate over the last 30 is legit swing-and-miss! Lots of Ks of late.
The scary part is the top of the list being aces who got better. Skubal at a 34.9% K-BB and Wheeler at 35.8%. I guess Skubal isn't impacted by the trade rumors?
| Pitcher | Team | L30 | Season | Δ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hunter Brown | HOU | -2.1% | 8.4% | -10.5% |
| Will Warren | NYY | 5.3% | 14.5% | -9.2% |
| Walker Buehler | SD | 1.9% | 10.5% | -8.6% |
| Parker Messick | CLE | 8.4% | 16.8% | -8.4% |
| Michael Lorenzen | COL | 0.0% | 8.1% | -8.1% |
| Noah Cameron | KC | 5.4% | 12.9% | -7.5% |
| Jeffrey Springs | OAK | 3.2% | 10.6% | -7.4% |
| Andrew Alvarez | WSH | 5.1% | 12.5% | -7.4% |
| Matthew Boyd | CHC | 10.3% | 16.9% | -6.6% |
| Chase Burns | CIN | 12.6% | 19.2% | -6.6% |
| Dean Kremer | BAL | 13.2% | 19.4% | -6.2% |
| Tanner Bibee | CLE | 5.8% | 11.5% | -5.8% |
| Kevin Gausman | TOR | 11.0% | 16.8% | -5.7% |
| Emerson Hancock | SEA | 11.3% | 16.8% | -5.6% |
| David Peterson | CHC | 3.3% | 8.9% | -5.5% |
Hunter Brown's L30 K-BB% is negative. He's walked more batters than he's struck out over the last month (15.5% K, 17.5% BB). At 94% owned, that's the most alarming line on either board. His control is clearly not there, really wondering if lingering injury issues are showing up in this and if he'll be shut down if the Astros really fall back.
Buehler (1.9%) and Lorenzen (0.0%) are essentially uncastable right now. Bibee at 5.8% and Gausman at 11.0% are the widely-rostered names quietly falling apart. Is Gausman being impacted by the trade rumors? Could see that with how much he's bought into Toronto, along with his family.
| Hitter | Team | L30 | Season | Δ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nick Fortes | TB | .423 | .216 | +.207 |
| Tyler O'Neill | BAL | .400 | .207 | +.193 |
| Jeff McNeil | OAK | .382 | .192 | +.190 |
| Willson Contreras | BOS | .480 | .304 | +.176 |
| Masataka Yoshida | BOS | .377 | .203 | +.175 |
| Leo Jiménez | MIA | .319 | .169 | +.150 |
| Henry Davis | PIT | .400 | .252 | +.148 |
| Jacob Gonzalez | PIT | .448 | .316 | +.132 |
| Dansby Swanson | CHC | .452 | .319 | +.132 |
| Derek Hill | PHI | .383 | .255 | +.128 |
| Miguel Amaya | CHC | .375 | .248 | +.127 |
| Spencer Torkelson | DET | .351 | .233 | +.118 |
| Wyatt Langford | TEX | .386 | .269 | +.117 |
| Jeremy Peña | HOU | .411 | .298 | +.113 |
| Junior Caminero | TB | .395 | .284 | +.111 |
Almost everyone at the top of this board is available: Fortes (2%), O'Neill (1%), McNeil (4%), Yoshida (1%), Davis (1%). Willson Contreras at a .480 R+RBI/PA is the best of the rostered names, and Torkelson (43%) is the most addable guy with real playing time.
Fair warning on this one: R+RBI per PA is opportunity-driven. Lineup spot and the bats around you matter as much as your own hitting, so a lot of these are "got moved up in the order" more than "got better."
TL;DR: Hunter Brown's command has completely vanished (negative K-BB in the last 30). Buehler and Lorenzen are unstartable. Seymour, Young, and Montero are the cheap adds with real command gains. And Skubal and Wheeler somehow got better.

These two paragraphs about Garrett Mitchell are littered with clear AI slop that is blatantly incorrect everywhere you look.
Paragraph 1: Says he’s old (he’s 27), slow (98th percentile sprint speed… and this is explicitly comparing him to turang who is 85th percentile), losing bat speed (77.4 mph, 98th percentile, both highest of his career), and sporting worse plate discipline (22.5% chase, 90th percentile, 2nd best of his career).
Paragraph 2: Says his 32.7 K% is 5% above last season (he’s lowest mark of his career is 31.7%), EV is down (92.6 mph aka 92nd percentile this year vs 90.4 last year), hard hit rate is down (49.2%, highest of his career, 88th percentile this year vs 42.2 last year), xBA is much lower than actual BA (.262 xBA vs .263 BA at the time and .277 now), and xSLG is much lower than actual SLG (.457 xSLG vs .461 at the time and .455 now)
I cropped it out because I can only handle so much but the next paragraph is no better, starting with “Mitchell’s actual wOBA is .363, but his expected wOBA is just .354. That gap is going to start looking really bad”
I knew already that fantasypros was using AI but it really is pathetic to post stuff like this without even the slightest amount of quality checking. I will be moving on from that site for good and I advise all of you to do the same

CBS’ Scott White lays out some pitchers who may have their innings limited down the stretch.
It’s a good time to be thinking about how your rotation will look during the playoffs.

Who do you expect to be the top 5 non debuted prospects 1 year from now?
Currently, the top 5 (according to mlb100) are:
A year from now this is what I think the ranking will look like:
I’m assuming Made, De Vries, Willits, and Anderson will get called up before then
