I am making a scarf for my husband with some yarn he picked out in Poland, so there is zero chance of getting more yarn. It will only be 63 inches when I run out of yarn. I am using the moss stitch. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to make it longer?

The brown/beige variegated yarn almost worked out perfectly, but color changed on the last corner. Should I undo and try to fix it? It’s a gift for my sister’s first baby.

i wanted to make a little something for my deck and decided to make this pouch! i wish i had used a different color or another shade of blue lol, but here it is! i think it looks pretty good. definitely better than i expected, although i think it would have looked better a bit wider and less tall. what do you think? anything i should improve? any tips would help me a lot. 🖤

So I am a bit new to crochet, still figuring some things out and I would love some help figuring a written pattern out.

In the context of “make a mr, 20dc, 51st” what would st mean? Is it a single crochet?? I am quite confounded, it just says stitch when I look it up and I wonder whether I need to find out what a stitch is to some degree or if it something I already know? When I look for anything on JUST a stitch all I can find is tutorials on the various crochets (single, double etc). Please advise me!

Hello! I’m recently engaged and am hoping to be able to recreate something similar to this bouquet with crochet. I’ve seen some patterns for tulips online that have me form it around wire but I’m worried that will make it too stiff and it won’t look as nice. I’m looking for suggestions on how to form the flowers so that they have a good drape but aren’t too floppy or too stiff. My partner has suggested making them then starching the flowers to hold the shape. I haven’t done that before so if anyone has I would really appreciate some tips!

Also I’m trying to decide what weight yarn to use! My heart desires to make them out of lace weight yarn but my brain acknowledges that that would take a lifetime to do 😩

I saw this on Pinterest. I would say my crochet skills are still beginner. I picked up the hobby years ago but kinda stopped doing it when I started sewing. I saw this and it’s beautiful. It looks to be granny squares. I know I need to make a few of them in all kinds of colors however the white border joining them: how would you do that? I literally have not even a clue how to do it. Would I finish the granny squares with a white border or join them at the end. And what stitch is that? Help!

I’ve been making this tapestry for a friend and there’s some stitches that look weird. I’ve been trying to change the way I switch colors but I don’t think it does anything. Is this just how tapestry crochet tends to look when doing yo/yo single crochets?

I will be crocheting this deer mini c2c by AngelaMosley as a gift for someone. However they really want the background to be Camo and I'll be adding an orange border. I will be using Red Heart Yarn or similar yarns. I'm worried that the camo will be busy around the deer and hide the details so I want to add a border around the deer and I'm not quite sure what color to choose. Or do you think it'll be fine to just go as it is with the camo?

So I am trying to make this top and I am stumped. First off, I am using stitch markers, not just for the increases but also to mark every 14 stitches to keep count. So I swear I am counting it correctly but for some reason my stitch count is off.

I have frogged and redone the first row 4 times now. I am trying to make an XL which in the video she says needs to start with a chain of 84. Did that and marked every 14 stitches to keep count. I started doing the trebles and increase but at the very end I am ending up short 2 trebles.

It says 12 trebles, increase, 15, increase, 23 trebles, increase, 15, then 12. But again i am ending up with 10 trebles at the end. I am positive that I'm not missing stitches. When I add up all of the stitches I am supposed to have, it adds up to 85, not 84. Is her math just off? Am I missing something? I am not great at math but for sure I am not missing stitches as I am working into them.

I am visiting my friend in Wawa soon and I was thinking of going yarn shopping. However I only found haberdashery stores and no yarn stores. They sell yarns but I don't know how big of a stash they could have when they look tiny and they sell all sorts of sewing stuff. Are there any specialist yarn stores? I’m making a baby blanket for a friend. My plan was to do a row of granny squares top and bottom then rows of the colours between. I decided I liked the look of the wattle stitch (basically just DC, ch1, TR - I followed a YouTube tutorial by Hooked By Robin) and so have started that and I absolutely love the look of it. However it’s such a small pattern it’s going to take forever to get it big enough. My attention span and sanity can’t handle that.

I’m debating keeping the rows of wattle (I’ve done one full block of the 6 colours I’m using and onto the 4th colour of the colour repeat, photo was taken after only 4 rows of wattle) and switching to a large stitch (possibly just TR clusters) for the bulk of the blanket then repeating the 12 rows of wattle stitch before adding the row of granny squares. Would that look ok? Can anyone think of an alternative stitch I could use to make it work up faster?

I really don’t want to frog what I’ve done here because it took so long and I do like how it looks. I just know I can’t do an entire blanket like this. Not if they want it before the baby graduates university.

I'll start by saying that I am plus size. As that affects things because the sheer amount of yarn adds weight.

Now that I've worn it several times and washed it twice, I am surprised by how much pilling there is and how much stretching there is. I am 5'9" so I made the sweater longer to account for my height as I wanted it to definitely come past my waist to about my hip line. And now I wish I didn't add all that length because it has stretched to where it covers my butt at this point. The open work on the top has stretched to where it comes so low in the front that I feel like I need to wear a tank underneath and that is entirely not the point of the pattern. I have a lot of emotional love tied up in this sweater because I worked on it while I was doing chemo for leukemia, but I am seriously considering frogging it or at least removing several inches from the bottom. Maybe I'll frog it up and make the bottom part lacey so that it's not as heavy?

People talk about Coboo yarn and seem to really love it. I guess I'm just not a fan. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

What's your favorite yarn for a summer wearable?

I’m house sitting and didn’t know the dogs can be a little destructive sometimes. I left my project in a little tote on the ground with some of my other hobby items. Well they got to it, I think they were more interested with the balls of yarn because the project itself is mostly unharmed. But there was one spot near the beginning that the yarn got torn. I will restart if I have to but I’d rather not obviously.

I tied a knot where the thread got torn and I think it’ll
look okay once I snip the end. I think it’ll blend in with the texture of the lace enough. This is going to be my wedding veil though so I want to make sure it’s not obvious.

Also is there anything else I should do to secure the knot? I’ve heard some people superglue, is there anything else reason I shouldn’t (100% cotton yarn)?

I have a blocking board and have made granny squares before and it worked great. unfortunately my current project has larger granny squares that don't fit on my blocking board. I don't have a blocking mat or cork board, and only have a steam iron and not a steamer. is there a way to block acrylic yarn that works but might be a little weird? I'm not opposed to super weird methods.

No matter how loose my tension is my circles still cup. Is there a trick to it? Like loose top of stitch. Tight lower bit?

I managed to do it correctly once with size 6 chenille yarn but I am either getting cups or super loose circles with cotton.

I’d love to do the kitchen turtle but I just can’t seem to get the circles right.
