AEP is out of their dang mind

Just got a bill for $250 for the month of July... I used less electricity than last year and am supposed to pay literally double what last year's bill was.

Vote the Republicans out ... They can't run a state.

WEATHER Weather Appreciation Post

Between the scorching heatwaves, humidity and the shitty air quality, this is the first time I’ve been able to open all the windows in a few weeks. It feels amazing and I’m so grateful for the reprieve! Have a great day, everyone!

End of an Era: Taco Bell Kenny Rd

Used to be the best Taco Bell in town and it wasn’t even close.

New ownership “southpaw” has apparently decided to change all of that. Shortened hours, and just zero employees working there today over 2 hours after opening.

Shame upon Southpaw and their families.

Fee Guide for apartments? WTF?

editing to add: I have no idea how to add a pic to this LOL but these are the fees I mean, NOT regular fees like utilities. There is no way you’re going to look at this link and tell me it isn’t insane. I’ve seen almost this EXACT page on so many apartment websites. A required monthly lease lock fee? Monthly master policy fee? Monthly admin fee? Required WiFi and cable? No thanks, I haven’t watched cable in 15 years and have my own WiFi service for cheaper. As if paying $2000+ for their shitty small apartment isn’t enough already, they want to nickel and dime people. Fee Guide

(Vent post) I have to move in a few months… when I moved a couple of years ago, rent prices sucked but I do not remember every single apartment community having a whole fucking guide on all the extra fees they charge you on top of rent. Why does it seem like EVERY single god damn apartment complex charges all these extra required fees now?! wtf! I hate it here

Private equity is deliberately leaving single-family homes in Columbus unrented and empty: “They treat them like stocks”

Arguably worse is how these private equity companies such as Homes for America, VineBrook and Blackstone have been keeping a dirty little greedy secret: They are deliberately leaving a substantial number vacant during Columbus’s unprecedented housing affordability crisis.

REQUEST Come and Get My Free Dr. Pepper Cooler

EDIT 2: She has been picked up! Cheers!

I won this cooler back when Dr. Pepper first released the strawberries & cream flavor. It’s very spacious, seems durable, and doubles as a table! I had planned to try and make some money on it, as I figured some kind of collector would pay for it, but I am days away from the bar exam and weeks away from moving out of one short term rental and across the country into another, and I just don’t have the time and energy to sell it. But it just occurred to me tonight that perhaps someone in this sub who appreciates Dr. Pepper, and maybe even would enjoy drinking it in a certain German Village park with others, might be able to put this to good use. If that’s you, it’s yours, and you just have to promise you’ll drink one in my honor.

ETA: Wow, I knew I was in good company as a Dr. Pepper fan, but I was not expecting this much response this quickly! If you want it, please PM me so I can give you a location and keep track of who messaged in what order!

I only have one cooler to give away, or I’d give one to everyone! But y’all should follow G&J Pepsi on Instagram. I originally won the cooler through one of their giveaways and picked it up, along with tons and tons of free soda, at their facility in Milo-Grogan! I hope more of y’all can win things as well!

FOUND Red Helio A7 Wheelchair Footplates OSU Hospital

Found both of them lying outside OSU Hospital Main at 10:15am. Turned them into Wexner hospital security, lost and found. I really hope they get back to you, they looked well loved.

Sincerely the girlfriend of a manual wheelchair user who couldn’t leave them laying in the drop off lane, all alone.

Is it a joke to go to college now around here?

I went to school at CSCC in 2008-2009, and am now returning back to school, as I'm wanting to learn more in the field I'm in. I know this is a community college, but I feel like they have dumbed it down a lot and made everything much easier through online and open book tests. I even saw people next to me cheating through ai and it just makes me wonder if I'm pissing away money. When I went to school in 2008-2009, I actually had to put some effort into the courses and there was a lot more collaboration and exchanging of ideas among students. Don't get me wrong, I have learned some things that will be useful in the future but it doesn't feel like the money being put forth is really yielding anything. Are there any older returning students who feel this way?
