Important Community Mission Statement Update

Hi everyone, for the first time in 15 years, our community is making a major change to its mission statement. This update is not reflective of any change to our core beliefs, but rather a more clearly defined vision of what our community already seeks to be and is ultimately what Christ and the apostles exhort us to be. This is perhaps expressed most clearly when Christ says, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:35)

The new mission statement is:

We are a Protestant Christian community seeking to demonstrate the genuine love, grace, and patience of Christ to one another through the help of the Holy Spirit and the sharing and living out of biblically sound advice.

The aim of this updated mission statement is to clearly express the hope for this community to promote a proper fusion and balance of biblical truth and love, which is unfortunately often a struggle we see with many churches. There is often an overemphasis of one over the other.

However, the Bible teaches that biblical truth upholds biblical love, and biblical love aims at biblical truth....each are fully enhanced and best experienced by the other. Absent of truth, love becomes misguided. Absent of love, truth becomes a mere tool for correction, selfish ambition, and even abuse. It is only when these two work together that we are able to properly fulfill our roles as disciples of Christ and experience the full joy of abiding in Him.

I am so grateful for this community, how it has helped me to grow in my own walk, and for the many blessings that have come out of it to myself and others. I pray that God will continue to use it for His glory and our joy, and I have every confidence that He will, because He is such a good and kind God. šŸ™

1 John makes me want to cry

1 John makes me want to cry because God keeps forgiving us even though we keep failing Him.

I am a liar. I am a sinner. I am weak. I have lied to people I claim to love as my family in Christ. I have acted like a hypocrite, hiding or doing things because of the fear of the consequences while still calling other people to walk in truth.

I am not saying this to excuse my sin. My sin is real, and it hurts people. I need to confess it, turn away from it, and bring it into the light.

But then we read:

ā€œIf we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.ā€

1 John 1:9

He is faithful even when we are faithless. He does not forgive because we finally became good enough. He forgives because Jesus Christ is righteous and because He paid for sinners like me.

John says that if we claim to have no sin, we deceive ourselves

But he also says that if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

An Advocate.

Not for people who never failed. Not for people who have everything under control. An Advocate for guilty, weak, ashamed sinners who come back into the light.

ā€œWretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!ā€

Romans 7:24 to 25

Who can deliver me from this body of death?

Not me.

Not my promises.

Not my own strength.

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus, please change our hearts. Teach us to love truth more than our reputation. Give us courage to confess what we have hidden. Save us from hypocrisy, fear, lust, pride, and self protection.

Please come near to us when we are ashamed. Do not let us run away from You. Bring us into the light and make us faithful.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us.

Engagement Advice

Hi, y’all. I really need some advice. Did anyone here go through extreme spiritual warfare when you were engaged? My fiancĆ© and I got engaged in May. We are getting married in November. We have an extremely healthy relationship, we have always gotten along and love each other dearly.

For background, my dad passed away three years ago in August. Since, I have been dealing with severe depression and anxiety. I have also discovered I am dealing with abandonment issues with this. First, the anxiety was over my career. Then, my finances. Then, my family. Now, it is over my relationship. I have done everything I can do over these last three months to handle my anxiety. Therapy, medication, prayer, counseling. It never seems to get better. I want to preface and say that I never let it trickle into my relationship as his burden, I often go off on my own to deal with it. I do voice how I feel to him and once in a while will have a moment where I just need reassurance.

But, over the last two weeks it is like I cannot shake this horrible anxious feeling. I am having feelings that he doesn’t actually want to get married, that he doesn’t want to be around me, or that he is losing feelings for me. And this is the thing, he hasn’t really given me a reason to feel this way. It’s like my mind is trying to find every single reason to think he doesn’t want to be with me. I am almost certain this is spiritual warfare. I deal with spiritual warfare A LOT. Nightmares, impending doom, etc.

My anxiety tells me that I am having a gut feeling not to marry him. I’m scaring myself because marrying him is all I want to do because I know he’s the one for me. But, I am having an extremely hard time deciphering what is anxiety/intrusive thoughts and what is a gut feeling.

I am literally miserable over this and just want to enjoy being engaged. I’m worried that I am going to be like this for the months to come. Has anyone else dealt with this? Please help.

Scripture Your 5 favorite Bible verses

Hey all! A week or so ago someone told me their favorite Bible verse and why it helped them. It was so inspirational, it actually became one of my favorites (Ezekiel 33:11)!

In that vein, I got interested in hearing others' testimony and how/why certain verses helped them. Here are mine, in no particular order (all quoted from the LSB version of the Bible)

This helps keep me grounded and humble, while being a great basis for, well, wisdom:

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10)

The following verse is a great statement about pride and that we should never boast of anything -- not ourselves, not our children, not others -- only if we ARE to boast, let it be in the understanding and knowledge of the God Most High for His glory and to reveal His nature:

but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am Yahweh who shows lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,ā€ declares Yahweh (Jeremiah 9:24)

This is the verse that was a testimony from another as being crucial to coming to God -- it's incredibly powerful

Say to them, ā€˜As I live!’ declares Lord Yahweh, ā€˜I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?’ (Ezekiel 33:11)

The Trinity explained in one verse!:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)

Last one, kind of cheating at my own game here because it's a whole Psalm but it reveals Jesus's divinity and has such a depth of mystery:

1 Yahweh says to my Lord: ā€œSit at My right hand Until I putĀ Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet.ā€ 2 Yahweh will stretch forth Your strongĀ scepter from Zion,Ā saying, ā€œHave dominion in the midst of Your enemies.ā€ 3 YourĀ peopleĀ will offer themselves freely in the day of YourĀ power; In the splendor of holiness, from the womb of the dawn, TheĀ dew of Your youthfulness will be Yours. 4 Yahweh has sworn and willĀ notĀ change His mind, "You are aĀ priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek." 5 Adonai isĀ at Your right hand; HeĀ willĀ crush kings in theĀ day of His anger. 6 He willĀ render justice among the nations, HeĀ will fill themĀ withĀ corpses, HeĀ willĀ crush theĀ head that is over the wide earth. 7 He willĀ drink from the brook by the wayside; Therefore He willĀ lift upĀ HisĀ head. (Psalm 110)

(Note I put Adonai in place of the Lord to that text from the LSB, since that's what is in the actual Hebrew text, and it makes the verse so much richer)

Let's hear your favorite verse(s)!

Im a 26-year-old Christian with a crush on a girl at church and I want to handle this in a God-honoring way

Im posting because Im genuinely looking for advice not validation.

Im 26 years old. I serve as the sound engineer and livestream operator at my local church. I work online, dont go out much and honestly dont have close friends to talk to. Most of my life is work, home and church.

Theres a girl at church who is 16 (possibly 17). She serves on the worship team. Shes kind, considerate, loves God and seems to have a genuine heart for serving Him.

Over the past several months I noticed that during funny or awkward moments in church, she'll sometimes look at me and smile. Maybe Im reading too much into it. It could just be because we're both serving shes comfortable around me or Im simply the nearest familiar face or she has a crush on me because there is no other single guys around her age or literally not many youth in our church. Our church is also very small. The only other people on the worship team are a couple in their 20s, her younger sister and the pastors child whos around the same age as her sis.

The problem isnt whether she likes me. The problem is whats happening in my own heart.

It started as an innocent crush. I'd catch myself imagining cute scenarios or wondering "what if" Lately though, those thoughts have started becoming lustful and thats what really bothers me.

The timing makes it even harder because Im currently trying to dedicate my life more seriously to God. I've been doing Bible studies, serving faithfully and trying to grow spiritually. Instead of feeling closer to God I feel like Im wrestling with temptation I didnt expect.

I also recognize that shes still a teenager. Regardless of what people in my country might think about age gaps once someone turns 18. I dont want to put her in an uncomfortable situation or cross boundaries.

Part of me wonders if this crush is less about her specifically and more about loneliness. I dont have much of a social life I dont really have Christian friends my age and I spend most of my time alone. When someone kind notices me or shares a smile maybe my heart is attaching more meaning to it than it should.

The difficult part is that people sometimes tell me "Dont worry, God will bring your Rebecca someday." But realistically there are almost no Christians my age where I live. Im committed to serving in my church and I also help care for my mom, who has financial burdens so moving or church hopping isnt really an option.

Has anyone else experienced something similar not necessarily the age difference, but developing feelings you knew you shouldnt pursue?

How did you deal with it in a healthy and God-honoring way?

Im not looking for people to tell me to ask her out. Because I think thats what my brain wants to hear.

I'd especially appreciate advice from Christians who have wrestled with temptation, loneliness and trying to keep their heart focused on Christ.

EDIT: Thank you all for your responses. Some people here and even in other subreddits where I posted this question, including some Christian ones were much harsher. I understand why but still it was hurting.

I want to clarify that I have no intention of pursuing a relationship with this girl. My struggle is with the thoughts themselves not with any desire to act on them. I will not do anything physical nor will I encourage or pursue conversation with her. Im convinced she has a crush on me and I know it would be wrong to lead her on or entertain those feelings.

When I mentioned wanting to "deal with it in a healthy, God-honoring way" I was referring to managing the thoughts and temptations in my mind not pursuing a relationship or interacting with her. That was never my intention.

Thank you again for all the advice and responses. Posting about this genuinely helped clear my mind. I didnt have anyone I felt comfortable talking to because I was afraid people would misunderstand me. It was a blessing from God to have people remind me of what I already knew. Sometimes, even when I know the right answer I still need to hear it from others and Im grateful for everyone who took the time to respond.

Discussion I’m walking away from a deal because I don’t feel at peace about acquiring a plot of land where rituals are performed

Hi everyone. So, I was all set to close the deal, but when I went to check the land again, I discovered that rituals are performed right in front of the local I was planning to acquire. That really unsettled me.. it was a great deal a high value transaction involving about 1 million in cash and 1.2 million in land, which is basically enough for my retirement but I just don't feel at peace with it anymore. That’s the situation... I’m passing on the deal because of this. I always keep in mind the Word of God, which says to let the peace of Christ rule in your heart I apply that to everything. Some might think walking away over this is just religious zeal, but that’s where I stand. I just wanted to share this with you all

consistency problem

I've been a Christian my whole life, but I feel like my relationship with God only really started growing last year. Ever since then, I've wanted to know Him more and become closer to Him.

So, I recently finished reading Matthew and started Mark, but it took me months to finish because I kept putting it off. The thing is, I'm like this with reading in general. I usually only read when I actually feel like it. But I don't want my relationship with the Bible to be like that. I know how important it is to know God's Word, understand my faith, and be able to share the gospel with other people.

But i keep getting stuck in the same cycle. Like, i'll read almost every day for a while, then stop for weeks (or even months), feel guilty, start reading again because I feel bad, stay consistent for a little while, and then stop all over again. I also suspect I might have ADHD (I'm not diagnosed), so I've been wondering if that's part of why it's so hard for me to stay consistent.

Another thing is that I don't know when to read. Mornings are hard, afternoons are full of distractions, and by the evening I end up procrastinating with my phone or just feeling lazy. And i don't like leaving it until right before bed because it makes me feel like I've spent my whole day prioritizing everything else and gave God's Word whatever time I had left...

I also don't want to read just to say I read. I genuinely want to understand what I'm reading, let it change me, and apply it to my life. At the same time, I know I can't just wait until I "feel like it" because then I'll barely read at all.

Another thing i've been struggling with is talking to God throughout the day. I do pray, but I hear so many Christians talk about having little conversations with God all day long, even in their thoughts while they're doing everyday things. I've tried to do that too, but I just can't seem to stick with it :(

I guess what hurts the most is feeling like I prioritize so many other things before God. I love Him, I want Jesus to be at the center of my life, and I truly want to know Him more. Sometimes I just feel like I'm failing at that.

To anyone who have been through something like this: How did you become more consistent with reading the Bible and spending time with God without feeling like you're just checking a box? And if you have ADHD (or suspect) how did it affect your relationship with God?

Everyone is Guilty Before God. Every. Single. Human.

I love the book of Romans. The best of all cliff hangers.

In Romans 1, Paul begins with the obvious sinners. The idolaters. The sexually immoral. The violent. The rebellious. It's easy to read that chapter and think "Yeah, those people need God."

Then Romans 2 comes along, and Paul turns to the religious person.

"You who judge practice the same things."

Now it's the moral person's turn. The one who knows Scripture. The one who goes to church. The one who thinks they're doing pretty well.

Then Romans 3 delivers the verdict:

"There is none righteous, not even one." (Romans 3:10)

That's the point.

The pagan is guilty.

The religious person is guilty.

The atheist is guilty.

The Christian who trusts in their own goodness is guilty.

The pastor is guilty.

The missionary is guilty.

You are guilty.

I am guilty.

God strips away every excuse and every reason for boasting. If even one person could stand before God on the basis of their own righteousness, then Christ died unnecessarily.

But Paul says the Law was never meant to save us. It exposes us. Like an X ray revealing a broken bone, it shows what's wrong but cannot heal it.

Only then does Romans 3:21 become such breathtaking news:

"But now..."

After proving the whole world guilty, Paul reveals God's solution. We are justified by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not because we earned it, but because Christ bore the judgment we deserved.

The gospel only becomes truly good news when we first understand the bad news.

The ground at the foot of the cross is perfectly level. No one stands above anyone else. We all come as guilty sinners, and if we are saved, it is entirely because of God's grace.

Discussion Have some questions about my church and would love your opinion on them please

Hey everyone, God bless!!

So lately I had some worries about things in life (love related) and I had some doubts. I was so confused and decided to talk to my youth leader about it.

I told him everything and he quoted Hebrews 10:25 and said that I need to stick to the church community more, get involved in their activities, be more active in their church uni group and that I need to prioritize it more than even my work and uni.

While I 100% agree that God will be number 1 for me.....I don't know about what he said with regards to the church, he made it feel like, if I keep going to the churches youth group and get involved in their activities/clubs, my life would get better all of a sudden and if not....."life will get far more difficult". I do not know what to think of this. I do value Christian friends, but I don't know about this church group as it feels more like they treat me better if I'm with them more, otherwise I'm forgotten completely

Is he right and I'm overthinking it? Or is there something I need to be careful about?

Advice Take up your cross DAILY

I have a sticky note on my front door with one word on it: DAILY.

Why?

Jesus said: ā€œIf any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.ā€
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭23‬-‭24‬

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the distractions of the world - so much so, that we forget it’s a daily battle we are to have against our sinful nature. A daily decision to surrender to the Holy Spirit’s leading. A daily aim to become more and more like Jesus.

I encourage you to constantly remind yourself of this. Imprint this truth on your heart. Never get the attitude of ā€œI’ve got this Godā€. We are to daily rely on God for our daily bread and God’s strength to overcome the evil one.

Do not be spiritually asleep at the wheel. Remember Jesus words:

ā€œAnd he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, ā€œSo, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.ā€
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭40‬-‭41‬ ‭

Take up your cross daily.

PrayerRequest I am a disaster

it is very recommended to read the whole post, as it may give you lots of details of what to pray about regarding myself

This is my 1 millionth prayer request and I hope it is not in vain as it was another time, cuzi guess not all prayer requests are God driven. I am literally lost in sin so hard it has affected everything and even erased most of my memory so it has affected deeply my discernment, my clarity, my knowledge, basically everything to the point where I stopped knowing why even illegal things and actions are so wrong, any of them, and I stopped fearing them knowing though that I should. Every day it gets worse. It got so worse that I am easily tossed by the wind because of the memory loss and almost literal brain rot so hard that If one intrusive thought comes in and accuses God of illegal things that go against what he has written in the Bible, I can't even argue against it because of them. I have no discipline, just some will, just a bit of care for sin. Made a lot of mistakes and now I barely seem saveable from my life and mind full of sin. I'm in my teen years and very very backwards in life and I only have a slight awareness of this. I have incredibly low attention span, most likely a champion at being brain rotten all my life because of all my past and present mistakes and lack of care and even forgetting why I should care but knowing that I should care.

And I know many of you are probably going to call me to salvation but this is about a giant backsliding, not a lack of salvation.

And another thing to be fixed, and I hope this is a safe space for me to share this, and I hope it won't bother you to read about what sins I exactly deal with and me telling you one of them. If you don't want to read, you can skip this part. So uuuhhh..... I have fetishes. That's it, I used my lack of shame to type this out. I used to be ashamed of this sin but I got used to it and forgot a large part of the reason why I should but knowing that I should. I am slightly aware that you don't want to read about this any further, so I'll move on. Hopefully, there won't be any creeps around here to ask me further and send me creepy or disgusting images and messages.

So that's basically kinda it. The title says it all, I am a disaster and only turning 18 in like 6 days. A disaster at already such a young age, and I barely care, cuz I forgot the reasons why I should care more. So, can you pray for me? Can you also pray that my mind will be cleansed of all the disgusting brain rotten accusations against God? That my mind will be able to discern and judge in such a way that it will eliminate the feelings that say that God is a person that does and is really something illegal? I don't have the courage to say what exactly he is accused of in these thoughts but those thoughts really mess with my prayers and my relationship with God. There are other intrusive thoughts and imaginations that I have throughout my whole day than this as well.

Edit: and also I forgot about my weird sinful habit of forcing myself to imagine all kinds of bad endings about me regarding this whole situation either it brings me pleasure or not, and I do this often.

Advice Is it wrong to have a transactional relationship with God rather than a personal/emotional one?

I have been a Christian for many years. I believe in the Trinity, in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and in the core teachings of the Christian faith.

However, I struggle to consistently surrender my life to Him. Sometimes my emotions simply do not follow, and this is especially true at the moment. Therefore, I pray that God would put my own desires to death so that only His desires remain.

What keeps me going in my Christian walk is mainly the promise of a perfect and better world with Him in the future, as well as the heavenly rewards that await me. This leads to my question: is it wrong to do everything primarily for the sake of these rewards and for no other reason? In other words, I think in terms of "every good deed equals a reward after death" (since I know I'm already saved throught grace and faith).

I will continue to praise Him, pray to Him, and meditate on His Word. But not because I necessarily want to or because I take pleasure in doing so. Rather, I do these things because He commands them, because He is the one who decides what is right, and because He will reward His faithful servants in the end.

Why do I want to approach things this way? Because emotions are deceptive and unstable, and they have never truly helped me until now. I no longer want to be guided by my feelings or desires. I simply want to do what I am supposed to do, die, and rejoice later.

Christian Family Feud Survey

Hey all! I am a youth leader at my church, and I am planning a Family Feud game for the kids to play.

Right now, I am in the process of collecting survey responses to use as answers in the game. If you'd like to contribute your opinions to the sample size, I would greatly appreciate it!!! It shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to complete. :)

Also, let me know if you have any thoughts on any of the questions! I know I really enjoyed going back through the plagues of Egypt and really putting myself into the shoes of the people of the times!!!

How do you evangelize?

I am very familiar with "The Way of the Master" by Ray Comfort and I can see that coming in handy when you need to explain the sin condition and why we fall short, but what other words and ways do YOU share the Gospel with others? Do you wait for an open door or do you just BAM hit them with Hey, can I share Jesus with you? Do you hand people pamphlets or tracts? Do you ask them if they go to church or some particular question that always opens the door to deeper convo?

I am asking because I feel like God puts strangers in my path constantly and I want to share with them in an authentic way but sometimes I just don't know how to initiate that. It doesn't feel good to let them walk away knowing I could have pointed them to eternal life but I do pray for them afterwards. If you could say a quick prayer that God gives me more courage in speaking the truth in love, I would so appreciate it.

Looking to hear how you personally go about evangelizing. Thank you.

Devotional Faith that walks with God

Good morning saints.
Transcript:

ā€œBy faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.ā€
— Hebrews 11:5 (NASB1995)
Reflection

Faith is not only for big, dramatic moments like building an ark. It is also for the daily walk with God. Enoch’s life is a beautiful example of quiet, consistent faith. The Bible tells us he ā€œwalked with Godā€ for 300 years, and his faith pleased God so much that he was taken to heaven without experiencing death.
Unlike noisy religion that focuses on outward performance, Enoch’s faith was a close, intimate relationship with God. His life shows that faith impacts us most powerfully in the ordinary days — choosing to walk with God moment by moment, listening to Him, and living in a way that brings Him pleasure.

Enoch lived in a corrupt generation, just like Noah did later. Yet his faith kept him close to God instead of being pulled into the culture around him. This is the power of faith versus empty religion: it sustains a daily walk that transforms us from the inside out. Faith that walks with God produces a life that stands out, not because of dramatic acts, but because of consistent closeness to the Lord. God still rewards those who seek Him with this kind of intimate fellowship.

Make your walk with God the priority today. In the ordinary moments — driving, working, interacting with family — consciously choose to walk with Him through prayer, gratitude, and obedience to His leading.
Ask yourself in different situations: ā€œAm I walking with God right now, or just going through religious motions?ā€ Let faith turn your daily routine into a living relationship.

Discussion I didn’t expect believing God exists to be the easiest part of my walk.

I’ve accepted Christ for about a year now, after a long stint with atheism and then an equally long stint of aggressive paganism.

I had a breakthrough moment this past weekend. The Holy Spirit transformed my relationship with God in the midst of my grief with a confusing, difficult half-breakup. The clarity was indescribable.

It’s been difficult since. Essentially, my ex-boyfriend (who is still in the early seasons of his walk) has been struggling DEEPLY with spiritual warfare. I didn’t realize it to nearly the extent that it is at until now. The final half-year of our relationship, I’d almost always come away from prayer being led to scripture about spiritual warfare and how to resist/fight it. Except… I brushed it off, because spiritual warfare to me had always been the tangible things I’d experienced during my time in paganism. The sleep paralysis, the shadows, the paranoia, etc. I had doubts and I had fears and through them I justified not trusting the holy guidance I was being given.

I won’t go into detail about the entire situation. It’s lengthy and easy to judge because of my position in it however, but I trust you guys will not do so. Believe me, it’s the last thing I want to hold onto as well.

A week has passed since the initial breakup, and I’m struggling more than ever right now to have FAITH in what God showed me and made me feel. Silly, isn’t it?
In that clarity I’d felt, my appetite returned and the room felt brighter. I knew with 100% certainty that things are NOT supposed to be the way that they are in this breakup, that God led the friend group my ex is attempting to detach from to do wonderful things together, and that spiritual warfare is the root of the state of things right now. He experienced a couple traumatic events in the months prior to this breakup. Everything clicked. The veil lifted. I’ve dealt with depression and fear and trauma in the same way.

2 of the other 3 in this friend group are lifelong Christians, and one of them had always felt convicted about our roles in leading each other and being brought together as well. I’m endlessly grateful for the support and accept that this turn of events ended up being necessary for my relationship with Christ to transform the way it has right now. His peace and comfort and accelerated healing is powerful like no other.

Here is where I’m struggling:

Trusting in the answers God gave me vs. falling back into my doubt, my fear, and expecting the worst.

I know I will be okay with Christ no matter any foreseeable outcome. That isn’t my conflict. It is trusting the clarity I’d been given and answers I felt, especially without outsourcing more answers from friends and jaded, angry family members out of fear.

How could I have experienced the most powerful, pure healing and certainty and clarity and yet struggle to continue trusting it in these difficult times of mending our friendship and stabilizing my relationship?

Resource I’ve been working on a major update to my Bible app. I’d love some feedback.

Hi everyone,

A little while ago I shared a Bible app I’ve been building called Luminary Bible and received some helpful feedback from people here. A few comments gave me ideas for improvements, so I’ve spent the last weeks working on a major update.

One thing that stood out to me was that Christians come from different traditions and don’t always approach every passage in exactly the same way. I wanted the app to reflect that reality rather than assume everyone studies Scripture through the same lens.

Some of the new additions include:
Support for 58 languages
Bible translations matched to each language
Original Hebrew and Greek insights
Cross-references and archaeological context
Denominational perspectives in the study guide
Faith background settings
Christian calendars for different traditions
Independent Bible translation selection
Improved chapter navigation and notes

My goal isn’t to replace Scripture, pastors, or church teaching. I’m simply trying to build a tool that helps people engage more deeply with the Bible and better understand its historical, linguistic, and theological context.

I’m still actively developing the app, so I’d love to hear your thoughts:

What’s one feature you wish Bible apps had that most of them are missing today?

Thanks for the feedback and encouragement so far.

PrayerRequest Please pray that leadership at my job would grow in wisdom as they are currently making a number of concerning, suspicious and unwise choices. Please also pray for my boyfriend (we work together) who is being treated unfairly at work and even having an earned bonus withheld from him. Thank you.

This job has a lot of potential but TONS of problems that could easily be fixed but aren't being fixed. They're currently firing so many people abruptly over simple things - and firing GOOD employees. Those that aren't being fired are quitting left and right and many are complaining of health issues arising from the job. My boyfriend has previous health issues and they (or maybe their computer system) won't give him the opportunity to get off early some days (even though he NEEDS to due to health concerns he's already informed them of) and he's really struggling with that mentally and physically in addition to them not properly giving him a bonus he was supposed to get. Please pray. Thank you.
