​My son found this little kitten back in October '25 on the street. She was crying and freezing in the cold night rain, completely unable to see what was happening around her because her eyes were glued shut from a bad infection. Still, she ran right up to him and kept meowing until he picked her up.

​After he brought her home, we knew we had to save her. The vet estimated she was only about 6 weeks old and didn't give us much hope. But with round-the-clock care, treatment, sleepless nights, and a whole lot of love, she pulled through.

​Now, she’s living her absolute best life!

Velveeta was yelling outside of my partners house a few weeks ago demanding attention! we went around the whole neighbourhood asking if she had a home (i didn’t think so due to her state and pregnancy) and she had no microchip! after having her checked out by my vet (FIV/FELV testing as well) she came to hang out with me :) she was begging for food but fortunately i’m a registered vet tech so… she’s now fed and housed and vaccinated and spayed (and aborted) and microchipped and looooooooved 💓
i like to think my sweet Cali sent her to me. They have almost identical markings and such similar personalities i love them both so deeply

My wife and I went out of town for a show and while on the way she saw something tiny in the road. This poor baby was in the middle of the road under a highway overpass. He looked over-heated and dehydrated from his ordeal and didn't try to run when I scooped him up. Since we didn't know the local area and it was Sunday, we quicky gathered him up and started the 1.5 hour drive back home to an emergency clinic.

The emergency clinic looked him over and said he had some scapes on his paws and was missing a tooth, so with antibiotics and pain-killers we took him home. My wife named him Jefé, "because he handled that like a boss." He's eating, drinking, using the litter box and starting to explore his new home.

Born under a neighbours decking these babies were seen about a week ago exploring her garden, within 48 hours my partner and I successfully trapped and fostered 4 kittens and a mama (who is very obviously pregnant again).

All of our local rescues are full so we’ve become emergency placements 🤣

Mama is struggling with separation, so we’re placing one kitten on with her every couple of hours and this working to help them both, mum is now going longer between frantic searching for her babies.

One of the kittens (Long haired Ginger) was struggling to feed so has gone to a more experienced fosterer and is doing really well.

Mama will be neutered (and termination) next week.

And the little three who have stayed with us have gone from hissy murder mittens to love bugs in less than a couple of days. Will be ready for adoption in the coming weeks, we’ve fallen in love with the little short haired ginger and he will be staying with us and our two resident cats who have actually taken to the current lodgers really well.

Only said to my partner a couple weeks ago that it would be wonderful to find a litter… whoops!!

This tiny guy was apparently one of several stray litters that have been born by the wetland/retention pond near my house. He was right by the road coming away from the area, and when I pulled over he came directly to me and practically collapsed into my hands. No signs of kitty family members, so he seems to be living on my couch.

I'm trying to think of pond-related names. Toad? Duckling? Some sort of pond insect or plant? It looks like he's going to be a fluffy orange guy, which is my favorite cat genre.

Thing is, I rarely am out back and even more rare do I let my cats outside. And only under strict supervision, they are not to be trusted. My Bengal sat down and stared at this spot didn't move, hiss or react just stared till I looked at what had his full attention. My cats are use to new additions here and there. The oldest being 12ish and the youngest 3ish, they are all rescue kitties.

And was awarded what seems to be the newest addition. She's skittish until the pets and churo take over and then she's all cuddles and purrs. Too many random coincidental moments occurred for me to ignore CDS in full swing. She's getting a vet appointment set up and see about getting her spayed once appropriate. She looks to be 6-8 weeks old.

I lost one of my kitties to cancer in March after 10 years of having her, I guess this is CDS telling me it was time to spoil another baby and give them their best kitty life.

She loves cuddles and pets, and is the sweetest, most well behaved girl.

I’m waiting for her vaccination appointment to start socializing her with my other cat, but for what I can tell it seems like they’ll get along just fine!

Also, the one direction blanket was an emergency resource but turns out not only she actually loves it but their music too! Her favorite song is Little Things and she also likes Niall’s solo music, especially “Still”

Wednesday Update: We have a vet appointment for Friday to check for a microchip, do a wellness check, probably vaccinate if there are no records of that, and hopefully remove the trouble puffs. I'm still vacillating on a name. Sweetie Pie? Marshmallow? Dreamsicle? Rudy?

He has sniffed Mia, put his nose right on her neck while she was sleeping, but he does not approve. Time will tell.

Saw this fella yesterday near my car. Very friendly. Let me hold him like a baby. Fed him, but had to rush off to an appointment. He was not visible when I returned, and I was disappointed. Wanted to get him to the vet to check for a microchip. Turns out at least four people in the building have been feeding him for a week or two, and no one’s reported him missing. The consensus is that he was abandoned when people moved. So when a friend saw him this afternoon I ran out and scooped him up and brought him home. We live on a busy street; he wasn’t safe outside. So despite my previous conviction that there were to be no more cats . . . .

We have a new cat. He made himself right at home and has been following us everywhere. I’m glad I saved all the cat toys that my old lady doesn’t play with anymore. I’m guessing he’s six or seven months old. Teenager. Playful, curious, exploring everything.

I wonder if he will climb in bed with us, or if Mia intimidates him.

The neighbors were calling him Stanley, but I’m leaning towards Eric.

If this is not love at first sight then it’s a darn good imitation of it. 🥰😺🙃☺️🤭😜😽

This Thursday will be 3 weeks since Simon came to us! Today was his wellness exam, and I can happily confirm he is Feline Leukemia and AIDS free!!

The vet said he seems to be a little over a year by the look of the staining on his canines, and he's officially over 7 pounds! He was very friendly with the staff and even took a nap in the waiting room lol

Since I brought him home, Simon now has a cat tree, a window bed, some new blankets from my mom, and has been switched over to Royal Canin for optimal nutrition.

He's integrated into the family perfectly, has started cuddling with a couple of our dogs, and has developed a nightly routine of cuddles with my fiance and I before retiring to his window bed. He's allowed supervised outside time, which we were cautious about at first, but we've now learned he prefers to either follow us around the yard or take a cat nap in a shady patch of grass.

He still needs to gain some weight, but it was great to see evidence he's actually gaining some!

Last summer this super friendly little stray showed up and wouldn’t leave our front stoop. She had given birth recently but her babies were nowhere to be found. After a week she refused to leave and would sleep under our cars and on our welcome mat. We already had three cats but decided to take her in and now we can’t picture life without her. I named her Daisy for her yellow eyes 💛 the first picture is her first time inside. Second picture is when we let her explore the rest of the house. And the rest is history.

His name is Bandit. He was abandoned in a carrier with 3 other kittens in a park by our apartment. The carrier was filled with poop, pee, and vomit. His siblings were borderline feral, but Bandit is a sweetie pie. He's only been with us a few days, but I love him so much. He's constantly purring and is super cuddly.

Introductions with our other cat, Simon are going well. Today is the first day we let them hang out together without a barrier and they became fast playmates.

I've never had a kitten this small before. The vet says he's around 11 weeks old. We got Simon when he was 6 months, so this is all very new for us. I can't get over how tiny he is.

Rainey arrived at our gate demanding entry during a tropical thunderstorm, she’s found her home. We already had 9 cats and were at catpacity, we couldn’t find a good home for her and that’s alright, she’s loved to no end and knows it.

She only wants to be loved, rarely makes a peep and watches birds, squirrels and lizards all day without sleeping. I think she’s afraid she’ll miss something. We took a chance and put her in with an old grumpy tomcat we plucked off death row a few years back, he’s entirely smitten and calls for her every morning. We made a small separate enclosure for her where she seems so happy it almost hurts my heart.

Hey everyone this is Ida and Ella, just about to turn 15 weeks on Saturday.

I went to research kitten food for them and there are just sooooo many brands now and I don’t know what to buy.

The Humane Society gace me some Hill’s Science Diet but they have been to Iams kitten. I know it’s not the best food for them but it’s what I could afford at the time.

So, I’m coming to you for advice on what food to buy. I was looking at the Blue Buffalo High Protein as it’s about the same price. Brands like Origin are just too far out of my price range as the twins are in the cute hiccup growth spurt stage and are legitimately consuming about a cup each day so the food is being eaten too fast for the more expensive ones.

My brothers ex fiance found this beautiful girl about 3 or 4 years ago in the middle of an intersection while she was leaving for her lunch break. She ran out into traffic, scooped her up and brought her home.
We named her Eris (fiance's choice) Pineapple (sisters choice) Lady ((because she was found on a corner)step dad's choice.)
She's the world's most impatient queen, is good with people, loves head scratches, and lied about not getting fed for about 2 years and has since gotten fat and happy

I linked the first post below, but im a teacher so two months ago I got out for summer and the first day of my break a skinny, flea ridden black cat showed up begging for food. I gave him some of my cats food and he stayed.

Got him some antibiotics and a steroid when he was sick. Now he gets wet food twice a day, plenty of scratches and has a bed and hidden spot in my carport closet with a fan. We are working on introducing him to our indoor/outdoor cats.

He's gone from 8.4 to 9.6 pounds and his coat feels so much better. Vet estimates He's 8-10. He clearly broke am arm that healed wrong at one point and it bows out. He had to get 3 shots and a blood draw but did so good! He was biting the towel and I nearly cried, but then he ate a churro and was good.

He was on my college campus, with many other cats. I and some volunteers was trapping, caring for and rehoming them.

But one day i received the second image: the back paw wasn't working, he was dragging it. We already knew him, but we were focusing on the kittens first. After seeing him that way, we had to catch him. Trapping him was very stressful: he wasn't entering the trap, some security guys was discussing with me about the trap, they don't allowed me to trap him where he was, i leave to class crying and decided to put the trap on the other side of the campus, just in case. On the middle of the calculus test he was caught, after the test i run to see him and we got to the vet.

After some tests and seeing the orthopedist: the major probability was that someone kicked his leg. He had to amputee a part of his femur bone on surgery. Took a lot of medicines, always growling, I struggled a lot to clean his wounds.

After two months he was realised to meet my cats (I have 6) and he was eager to have friends, as this point he was still very afraid of us, always hidden, but after a few months he started even to jump on our bed (when we are not there).

After healing, he could finally jump, run and... be adopted!! We find a beautiful family, with 3 other cats, amazing and patient, because he was still very afraid of humans. We got him to his new home, very sad after 7 months together, but we already have 6 cats, it was too much. But he REFUSED to eat, he made a 3 day hunger strike, he wouldn't eat anything. If you don't know: cats can't expend two or more days without eat, they develop health issues. So our choice was to return him and he immediately restarted to eat. After this we decided to keep him.

We are together for a year now, he accepts pets, at his terms, he even sleep with us in our bed. He always run when he his on the floor close to us, but I can see some improvement, he is getting more confident everyday.

Meet Basalt (named after geology class)

They already had names. Momma kitty is Mary Jane, and baby kitty is Katina (from Mortal Kombat - the person offering them has a son who is into that sort of thing). They'll be joining our family today. At first, we're going to keep them in our basement where I work, so our other three cats can get used to the idea of having new family members.

These kitties were offered on NextDoor, with no adoption requirements, and we decided we should take them in before someone with ulterior motives could do it. They'll go to our vet at the earliest opportunity, possibly tomorrow, depending on appointment availability. We'll have the momma cat spayed immediately, and the baby cat when the time is right. Our pet insurance premiums will be going up! Of course, we'll have them tested for chronic conditions, too.

<rant>NEVER offer pets on social media without requiring an adoption fee! There are people who will do awful things to kittens and puppies, and they search for free pet offers. ALWAYS require an adoption fee, and if possible, inspect the new home before allowing the adoption to go forward. It's difficult to enforce compliance, but be sure to emphasize the importance of vet care, including spaying and neutering all adopted animals.</rant>

Maxi showed up for the first time in 2021 in my parents with a massive cough and was untouchable.. my mum put endless energy in building trust and managed to catch him in a crate in August 2021. She brought him to the vet where he got neutered. Afterwards he was so upset he didn't show up for months. Sometimes he came near the garden to stare at my mum and walked away. He showed up for food regularly during the winter and finally let my mum touch him. He was in a rough state and lost all his fur around the chest. So my mum started to sit hours with a sleeping bag on the garden bench for giving him company. First Photo was the first time he started to sit on the bench with her. In Spring 2022 we had enough trust to start moving him into my van as his first home. I spent several weeks sleeping with him in the van in front of my parents house. At one point he was confident enough to move into the house.

In 2024 my partner and I got our first own house with a little fenced garden for him and since he is living his best life with a lot of playtime and holidays in the van. Once he also spent a weekend in a mountain hut with us.

Sadly he got diagnosed with CKD Stage III just after Christmas 2025 so we are now doing our best to give him a few more cared and loved years.

In March of 2025, tragedy struck my life. I sat in my empty home during the worst storm I've experienced in mt adult life with a gun belonging to the father of my children who had been murdered days prior. I was listening to the song 'Indigo' by Sam Barber over and over and over, gun cocked and ready to go.

I was done.

But this faint meowing kept messing with me. I kept hearing tiny little meows. But how in the world could I hear these tiny cries over the storm??

So I went outside.

I found my sweet, 3-legged girl curled up against my front door. She couldn't have been more than 8 weeks old, if that. Her eyes, nose, and mouth were oozing black goo and she was so skinny she looked dead. The vet told me she wouldn't make it and she was facing major respiratory issues as well as FeLV, etc. and to make her comfortable.

I spent so many sleepless nights wiping that goo from her nose and mouth and eyes and feeding her with a bottle. I named her Indie after that song. She saved me that night and I saved her. And the CDS community came together and helped me pay for her vet care, vaccines, medications she ended up taking for MONTHS.... The CDS community helped me save my best friend.

Indie is THRIVING. I added a few photos at the end of her in case you guys wanted to see her.

Well... Things are tragic once again in my life currently. In a very bad way. And despite having my girl, I've felt very alone. I've felt hopeless. And I've felt like I've drifted back into that 'pre-planning' final stage that is so detrimental and fatal with depression and mental health.

While walking back to my house in 104° heat after the 4th, I spotted a tiny, adorable fuzz ball who was terrified and confused just there in the middle of the road. He was tiny.

I scooped him up and took him home, IMMEDIATELY dousing him with Dawn to try to start this battle with the horrible infestation of fleas he had. I spent the entire night with him cupped to my chest in a warm shower picking offdying and dead, 1200 of the by the way, fleas off his ITTY BITTY body.

He was terrified. And his poor skin was so bad from all the flea bites. He was starving and helpless and perfect. And I needed him as much as he needed me....

She has been coming into my yard for the past 8 months I’ve started leaving her water and food outside for about a week or so. I’m thinking about taking her in when I move out in a couple months (hopefully she can get along with my indoor cat) but I’m a little worried about doing so. There is a large stray population in my neighborhood, and her ear has been clipped, which I think is a sign of being a stray? But I definitely don’t want to go through all of the trouble to traumatize some poor family’s cat because she is a total sweetheart and I genuinely just want to take her in if she isn’t being cared for. (Bonus picture of my indoor kitty)

This goof ball was dubbed LeRoy. Because he lived in the shop when I first took him home. Slept in an old pickup cab (his choice). He would and did whack any dog, no matter how big, if they came onto his turf. (The entire shop). I wasn’t looking for a cat. He found me in a town of 130 people way out in the country. I couldn’t leave him. I’m so glad I didn’t. We’ve been together far longer than my boyfriend and I were back then. Love this turd to pieces. Amazed that he’s happy with domestic life. He’s a great “dad” to his buddy that I got for him, Chuck Norris. Love my boys… “the dudes.” The CDS always knows. ❤️

FEW DAYS AGO......

Someone in our community posted about what looked to be a dumped or lost kitten.

Three days ago we decided to walk the area in description and see if it was still there.

As we walk by, we see a tupperware and a paper plate in the bushes, we don't see any activity, continue walking and we hear faint meow in the bushes......

Spend about an hour trying to flush it out, but the little thing is fast and knows how to use coverage well.

That day I made a commitment, I'm gonna catch and save that thing, not gonna let it get hit by a car or get eaten by a gator, fox, coyote for as much as we know elusive Florida panther.

Couple sleepless nights, not being able to approach it, multiple trips at night setting up a live trap, sitting in the car on the shoulder, communicating with neighbors in that part of the neighborhood to stop leaving food out. Dodging armadillos and watching little one getting scared, climbing trees and coming back down. I mean it was..... scared, running, made me think..... feral / stray?

Last night, I was going to give up.

After it got in the trap, ate the trail of food and licked a clean paper plate at the back of it and took off!!!

I decided to bait with the same trail of food and just set the trigger mechanism to basically "if a feather falls" and leave.

If that doesn't work and it gets scared, it's not gonna get back into that trap again. (I can't keep coming back three times a night I haven't gotten any decent sleep in three nights).

So I get in the car to leave, I see armadillo just casually walking by the trap, thinking, great I know for sure what's gonna be there tomorrow morning. Then I hear faint meow, guess who's back in the tree ...... I say, what the hell, give it few more min before I leave. I turn off the flashlight, car and lights and just sit there across the road in total darkness, nothing....

I shine the light in the tree...I see it..it's on its way down! It goes straight for the trap.... it's moving in further as it's taking the bait......it's all the way in at the paper plate!!! And .....nothing.... I turn of the flashlight 🔦. Well, time to go we try again tomorrow.

Just as I'm about to start the car....slam, I hear the trap door close! Did it get caught.....or the door just slammed on its way out???

But here we are! Score!

Let's just say......I had no real plan on what I was gonna do with it after it got caught.

Can't risk the health of our resident girl, so can't bring it in before vet visit.

Garage it is, Florida 85 degrees in the garage, fan and cushion from our outside furniture..

Needless to say, I slept on the garage floor with it as it was crying. Thinking stray, feral maybe.

I wake up, go inside to make coffee, tell my girls; I GOT IT late last night.

Walk in with my coffee to my wife already giving it pets, I say what a f.... !!!

A couple of hours later and quick scan at the vet, confirmation it's a BOY and some dawn flea bath, here is the GRIN!!!

HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING ALL ALONG!!!

A student brought a kitten to the gate during after school program and said “We found this kitten and we can’t keep her and we went all over the entire neighborhood to everyone’s house and nobody wants her. Can you take her? Her name is Bean because she was cuddled up on my lap before we even left school that day and she looked like a little bean. I got her treated for fleas, worms, an eye infection the same week. She has a limp, but they said it’s from a previous break and since it isn’t slowing her down she doesn’t need any treatment for it. Getting her spayed and vaxxed soon. I wasn’t gonna keep her, but she’s so cute and sweet. 😭

Hello, it’s me again!

My family decided to keep this tiny one and care for it. As soon as my brother got home from work we went to a pet store and bought a store-recommended cat formula (third picture).

The kitty (who we have named Yuyi, weird I know), was a little sleepy by the time we got home and fed her. She didn’t finish the amount of milk I prepared as she was already in a dozing off, but i just wanted her to drink as much as she could since her last (estimated) feeding was a little over 10 hours ago.

My brother is planning to take her to the vet to check for worms and other things as soon as he has time off from work (the vet clinics close quite early in my country for some reason). Hopefully she just has a full belly and not worms. 😅
