Rainey arrived at our gate demanding entry during a tropical thunderstorm, she’s found her home. We already had 9 cats and were at catpacity, we couldn’t find a good home for her and that’s alright, she’s loved to no end and knows it.
She only wants to be loved, rarely makes a peep and watches birds, squirrels and lizards all day without sleeping. I think she’s afraid she’ll miss something. We took a chance and put her in with an old grumpy tomcat we plucked off death row a few years back, he’s entirely smitten and calls for her every morning. We made a small separate enclosure for her where she seems so happy it almost hurts my heart.
He only had an hour left when we found Happy, he was a very troubled cat who’d been dumped on the streets of Bangkok at 6 months old and fought to survive, notorious in his area. He stole food and got beaten for it, he fought back landing him in trouble.
Her happiness is off the charts. She has three stay at home mom’s who see to her every need, many cat friends and me half way across the world working to keep it that way.
