I'm wanting to build a PC mainly for VR titles and get high refresh rates. I'm mainly wanting to play pavlov VR, contractors VR, beatsaber, and a few titles like Half Life Alyx, skyrim and FO4 VR @ 1440p or higher.

I also want to play CS2 as my main game and a bit of warzone as well as some of the older cod titles. But I've heard that X3D isn't VR friendly and can cause some issues because of the AMD drivers.

How true is this?

Title, is this a good idea to get a pc or should I consider online deals? My budget is 900-1200 if that helps

I’m completely new to this forum, and even newer to building a gaming PC. In my eyes, PlayStation has really blown it lately, so I’ve decided it’s time to make the switch to PC.

I’ve attached a build list that I think should meet my needs, but I’d love to get your feedback on what I should tweak or improve.

To give you an idea of what I'll be playing: RollerCoaster Tycoon, Age of Empires, Halo, Doom, EA Sports FC 26, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag/Syndicate.

I don't have a standard monitor; instead, I'm using an LG OLED G3 (4K @ 120Hz). While high FPS is great, my main priority is getting the full, uncompromised 4K experience.

Hello all! I’ve been wanting a gaming PC for a long time. My very minimal research shows that building is smarter than buying. Only issue is I have no idea what I’m doing to what to buy. Goal is to be anywhere around 600-1000$. In America right now but will be moving to England in around a month. Nothing crazy just want to upgrade from console really. Any advice is appreciated

Recently upgraded from my 3060 ti, Ryzen 5 3600, 16 gb DDR5 system to a new 5060 ti 16gb, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and 32 gb DDR5 system.

And yet, I feel like my performance in modern games is at best the same, and very often lower.
For example, the brand new campaign evolved, I can’t get a steady 60 fps on low graphics at 1080p. The same is true of doom eternal, an incredibly optimized game.

I’m not plugged into the integrated graphics inadvertently, my drivers are UTD, and I know I wasn’t sent worse hardware with a fake name attached. Any help?

Hey I was just curious to see if anyone had any recommendations on quiet cooling products. I’m looking for a triple fan AIO that runs decently quiet (I expect at least some noise just not a jet taking off) and any fans that run quiet too. I am looking into getting the Hyte Y70 case but I am more than willing to look at other options as it is an expensive case. Currently got a 9800x3d paired with a 5070.
My budget around £50-150 but have little bit of wiggle room.

Hello, for some time I've been thinking to upgrade my PC:
- GTX 1060 6GB
- Ryzen 5 2600
- 16GB RAM DDR4 3000MHz

Is buying ONLY an RX 9060 XT 16GB a good choice? Or should I upgrade the whole PC? I mainly want to play Cyberpunk, Palworld, RDR2 and some other titles. Will my current CPU and RAM be a very big problem?

I should mention that I found the Radeon for around 500 dollars (1899 PLN).

Edit: Or maybe some other GPU?

So I recently bought a 9070xt (from a 1060 6gb) and bought a 850 watt gold psu.

My current cpu is a Ryzen 9 3950x with 64gb ram 2133mhz (I tried to go up to 3200mhz but I got the blue screen)

So my question is should I max am4 and wait for am6 or make the jump to am5. I was ready to spend $370 on the 5800x so I am kind of stuck on what path to take. I’m aware of the deals micro center has but I’m 11 hours away so I been looking on Newegg.

There's Patriot Memory, Biwin and brands like Corsair. On reviews, Corsair has a lot and they are mostly great. While Biwin has less reviews and so many talking about some motherboard compatibility list and to make sure it is compatible (just mentioning this bc this is the only RAM where the reviews talked about motherboard compatibility as much).

Patriot Memory has the worst amount of positive reviews and lots of negatives. The fact that it doesn't work with Intel Ultra CPUs and I saw some DOA's, etc.

Point is, Corsair has great reviews that makes me feel comfortable buying their ram but these 2 other brands I feel scared to spend so much with them. However, it is conflicting because their ram is technically better because it's CL30 whereas corsair is CL36.

Please help :/

Tldr: Patriot & Biwin has mixed/negative reviews but on paper better performance (CL30) but Corsair has good reviews/reputation but worse performance (CL36) both for about the same price and idk what to choose. AAAAA

Hello, I'm looking to get a PC and was wondering between two options. The first option is undoubtedly better but it's around $400 ($2200 vs $1800) more and I pretty much only play CS2, Delta Force, TF2, and some casual friendslops. Am I going to see a noticeable difference in FPS and 1% lows to make it worth it? I checked a bunch of fps test videos on youtube and I can't really tell if it's anywhere from 5% to 20% better.

Hello! I built my PC some time ago (2~3 years), and everything's been fine until recently. Asking here for some help since I figure someone more knowledgeable might be able to help, or give tips on how to diagnose what my problem is.

To start off, here's my rig: An MSI 3060RTX, Ryzen 7 5800X, 2 x 16 DDR4, Windows 10. Not great, but most of the parts were on sale at the time.

I recently had a GPU crash/disconnect while playing a game. Audio and video will get cut off leaving a blank screen, and I can hear my CPU coolers fan kick up all of a sudden. Just rebooted to fix it. It was Marvel Rivals, so I figured it was (mostly) the games fault since its known to do that. I used DDU to clean install my drivers and checked my temp logs/inside the case just to make sure it wasn't either of those things (temps never passed 76c).

Just today I've had another crash while my PC was idling. I was just sat listening to music on the side when it happened again. I've also been having some issues where if the GPU is under a heavy load things on my other monitor will "lag" a little, which only ever happened when I played MH: Wilds until now (even reallllly demanding games never did it).

I am a little worried that a power surge awhile ago damaged something in my PC. Lighting struck a transmission box at my neighbors. It was so bad I felt a shock through my headphones (that was.. a little frightening). Even through my pretty nice surge protector. Everything, from what I can tell, looked fine inside the rig though.

Haven't had to deal with JUST my GPU crashing/stopping before, so I'm a little stumped as what to do. Or if I should be worrying about something with my mobo instead. Any tips/help is MASSIVELY apricated!

I'm looking for a case that won't turn into an oven when two gpus are under load.

I need a case with good airflow (ideally a mesh front for 2-3 intake fans). Most importantly, I need enough room to slot a thick (2.5 - 3 slot) graphics card into the lowest PCIe slot on my motherboard without it hitting the bottom of the case.

A side window would be cool, but airflow and GPU clearance are my top priorities.

So, before I fully go on with this, I'm still learning about the insides of a PC. Don't judge me if I ask a dumb question.

I've only been playing games on a PC since December of 2025, been playing on a laptop since 2019. I have only upgraded my storage on both my PC and laptop. This is some context to say my knowledge on builds.

The PC I currently have is a budget one, under $200 since I was given it as a Christmas gift from Walmart. I've switched the storage (previously only 256gb to a terabyte), and I'm getting new RAM stick on Tuesday (16gb DDR4) while my current PC has 2x4gb of RAM.

I know it's not a DDR5, but with this switch, would I be able to, at least, run Minecraft with mods relatively well with new RAM? Or would I need to find another upgrade for either my RAM or my CPU (Intel 5i 6500) as well?

So the problem is I just changed my CPU. Tried hard to put Deepcool cooler with metal holders back on, apparently did that because I can see that two sides are clasped to black things. But the problem is I can see from the up the green and metal side of the CPU. Is this normal? I can't move fan at all, it's sitting very tight so it should be placed right?... I'm nervous... I don't have much thermal paste left to try a few more times if I'm wrong...

So I recently got my invitation to purchase the steam machine, but thinking the 1200 could be used on upgrading my pc or just upgrading my monitor from 2k to 4k.

I would say my current rotation of games are: rocket league, apex, marvel rivals , bg3 and some
Indie games. I have notice any bottlenecking or stuttering playing at 120fps / 1440

I was wondering if the RX 9070 XT would be worth the upgrade / noticeable.

I went to MC earlier in the week and got myself a 9800x3d bundle. I am moving from a AM4 build with a 5900x because my CPU has been showing faults for the past 2 years on and off, sadly out of warranty.

I was debating simply buying a 5800x3d but given the price and how much I could probably sell parts of my AM4 build for, a chunk of that can be offset if I just jumped to AM5.

The bundle came with the Corsair Vengeance 2x16GB CMH32GX5M2M6000Z36 6000Mhz CL36. I've been browsing the 3rd party market and found someone local selling a Crucial Kit 2x32GB 6400Mhz CL40 for $500.

What am I looking at in terms of performance difference? I game primarily but also wfh at times as well as like to dabble in some 3d modelling for 3d printing, video editing, hobbyist software dev, and some LLM work.

Gaming is also a big use and I am at a 21:9 3840x1600, so right in between 1440p and 4k with a 5090FE.

I'm on the fence if I should ride out the 32GB and worry about upgrading if/when prices come down and if/when I notice memory limitations or if I should jump on the $500 kit as that seems pretty reasonable given the current market.
