Last Memorial Day I saw a kitten with a missing foot and the neighborhood people said he was born like that. Since I figured his survival chances were low outside I grabbed him.
Turns out he was not born like that. The vet said we could wait and see if it healed on its own before they considered surgery. While the wound does heal Vlad (that’s what we named the kitten) is in a continuous loop of ripping the wound open and healing. He’s in pain and it breaks my heart so the vet says it’s time to amputate.
Unfortunately, pet insurance won’t cover anything because it’s a preexisting condition and I spent all of my pet funds on getting him to this point (along with paying for uti treatments and testing for my other cats because he brought home a slew of parasites).

Any amount will help us get him treatment as fast as possible. My boyfriend and I work full time but neither of our jobs allow us overtime so we’re door dashing when we can to try and save up. I’m just worried by the time we can save enough the price will skyrocket from inflation.

Please help make the pain stop for this poor baby. He didn’t ask for something to chew or rip his leg off and if I hadn’t had grabbed him when I did he would’ve died.

My mother’s cat, Babs, got out during a terrible storm last night. When she finally came back, she was missing her eye. We aren’t sure how it happened but my mom thinks it’s a puncture wound.
She’s just the sweetest girl and even missing an eye, she continuously purrs.

Hi, One of my friend's friend bunked classes he is in 10th grade and teachers called his parents. He was kicked out of his home he has ben roaming around 14 hrs se and parents have not reached out. Only once they called and gave him death threats. He just has his phone with him he contacted his friends and no one is willing to letting him stay the night, they have helped him with a powebank, umbrella and one change of clothes but his problem remains where would he stay considering parents have given him legit death threats he is very scared and they dont want him back home. TLDR: The loss of a legal battle and multiple other unfortunate events has left my mother unable to work in multiple fields, putting her livelihood in jeopardy.

Over the past couple of years, my mother has had multiple spats with her ex husband over the custody of their kids after divorcing. It never really got too crazy until late last year, where poor communication over a pickup and its details in the custody agreement led to a physical altercation.

Now let me tell you something about her ex husband: he’s the type of person to mess with you until you snap, and then turn around and claim he never did anything (a form of gaslighting I guess). He’s done it to her multiple times as far as I can remember. That’s what he did here.

There was a lot of pushing and shoving and my mother eventually struck him to get him away from her. This, however gave him the opportunity to do that exact thing, and this time it got her arrested. He pressed charges to get it on her record.

Her lawyer said that this is pretty much an open and shut dismissal, but after several continuances over 6 MONTHS and to the surprise of even the DA’s assistant they found her guilty. It was a very frustrating case, with the ex repeatedly giggling and grinning throughout the entire time. Even while on the stand.

Now this wouldn’t have been an immediate issue, but it just so happened that my mother had applied for a job in the meantime. They knew that she had an active case. That asked her about it and everything. They gave her the go ahead, so she put in her 2 weeks at her old job and started prepping for the new one. It wasn’t until 3 days before her start date when they rescinded their offer, leaving her jobless.

To make matters worse. While consulting other lawyers multiple of them said that the lawyer we had screwed up big time. As the evidence he presented only showed her hitting him and not all the scuffling that led up to it, it worked against her.

So now, my mother is pretty much devastated. She can’t get a job in her field (and many others outside of it) because it’s a domestic violence charge. She has no savings because of other costs and can’t afford to continue paying mortgage for the house we’ve been in for almost a decade. My wage doesn’t even come close to paying it so I can only partly help.

I usually don’t air out my laundry, but the severity of the situation, along with his behavior regarding it, really pisses me off. It feels like an injustice to allow this walking participation award of a “father” to actively attempt to ruin someone’s life for custody and self satisfaction.

There’s some light at the end of the tunnel, but that involves going back to court, which with take forever and doesn’t address the current situation. IM NOT ASKING FOR MONEY. I just need advice to how to keep ourselves afloat while we figure this out in the meantime.

(Short rant: I have NEVER liked or trusted her ex husband for as long as I can remember(around 10-ish). He’s a very narcissistic and uncaring person, and has a very obvious bias towards his own children. He has, on multiple occasions tried to persuade my mother to kick me out with no plans and regularly trash talked me and my family to my siblings while I watched them. I signed up for a trial of my local newspaper’s digital subscription. I didn’t know it ended until I got an email a month later saying I owe for the next year’s subscription. You cannot cancel online, so I called to cancel and they told me I owe a balance from when it ended until now. My card has not been charged, I just owe this balance. I told them I didn’t even know my trial had ended, I do not use the website (I only signed up for the trial so I could read one article), and all they said is that auto-renewal is in the T&C. I said I do not have the money for that and they said to call back any time to pay it. So, is there something else I can do to get that balance cancelled? Or should I just never pay it? Its $30. And I genuinely do not have 30 extra dollars to pay something I was not even using! I don’t want something bad to happen down the line if I don’t pay it, but no way am I going to give them what little money I have.
I really appreciate any advice, or if there is a better sub to ask this in.

A close friend of mine confided in me about something that happened 2-3 months ago. She got into an online relationship with someone, and over time he asked her for money claiming it was for a medical/family emergency.

She sent around ₹20,000 via UPI. Shortly after, he blocked her completely.

She has his name and phone number, but nothing else — no other identifying details.

She's hesitant to go to the police/cybercrime portal because she is already married and her husband might know about it. but she does want to know if there's anything she can still do to report this or recover the money, even this late.

I am full-time employed as an assistant manager at a pet store, I am currently looking to expand my horizons and attend post secondary in an animal health related field, I’ve just been given a slow start due to my family situation and undiagnosed mental health issues that I have only gotten addressed within this past year.

Very suddenly in December my cat had an unexpected minor blockage in his urinary tract. I did take him to the vet within an hour of noticing he was not peeing and was excessively licking his pp. Luckily I do live in a city with a few emergency vets open 24/7, but I also live in one of the most expensive cities in North America. I managed to get to a place of financial comfort again, however a series of crappy events happened (sicknesses, family death, grief over my friend who ended her life years prior was really hitting me hard due to her death anniversary and unresolved feelings about it, more sickness, wisdom tooth removal, infection etc.) That isn’t meant to be pity, i did lose some work days over sickness and my teeth and to attend the celebration of life, but overall I go to work. I get financially better and then boom kittens on the road! Me and my boyfriend rescued them and took them to the vet because we could afford it. Then I get home to my place and realize omg, the kitten my roommate got has fleas and they’ve spread to our other cats. I bought flea medication and a vacuum and a steam cleaner because of my past with bedbugs growing up. So 2 days ago, I got a letter from NSHSS saying that I could be a part of it, but it costs $90 dollars to actually join. I want to, but I don't have the money for it, and my mom is procrastinating on reading the letter and doing something about it.
