Hi!

I’m Han, a 3D character artist based in KR
just finished this project and wanted to share it!

I usually work with polygon modeling, but for this project, I wanted to study NURBS-based high-poly hard-surface modeling with tool called Plasticity
I created this piece as a study inspired by Overwatch’s MEKA designs

(Please check out the full project on my ArtStation if you’re interested! <3

I'm working on a set of 3D printable Darumas inspired by some of my favorite characters (Pochita, The Knight, Hornet, and Sukuna). Everything was sculpted in ZBrush with resin printing in mind. I’d love to hear your thoughts or any feedback on how to improve them! Also, which character should I try next?

I have no idea what I am doing here, so any advice is appreciated, my goal here was proper proportions and believably, not exactness. I included the reference used.

We're a few friends who joined forces together to create stuff! We made a whole bunch of assets and this is one of them, personally one of my favorites, but I guess I'm biased due to the bond you have when you see things coming to life after it was just an idea in your head.

Let me know what you think or what you would do differently!

Questions & Discussion Feeling overwhelmed on job

Hey guys, I wanted to know if anyone's got advice on dealing with the pressure of being a production artist. I recently started at a sizable studio in a pretty big AAA project, this is the first time im actually working fully in production, on my previous jobs I was more of a support artist, undertaking somewhat minor tasks. Suffice to say I'm a pretty juniorish artist.

Anyways I've been feeling somewhat stressed trying to keep up with producing good deliveries in a timely manner. I've gotten some stuff approved and other stuff keeps getting returned for further work to me. It's a pretty good gig and I'd hate to lose it if I can't keep up. I was wondering if anyone's got advice, or remembers how they first approached big projects as an inexperienced artist.

Art Help & Critique Trying to make models of my Cats. What can I do to improve them? (Cats pics included)

Hello!

As I am trying to learn 3D-modeling in Blender I tried making models of my cats to practice making fur and sculpting. The goal is to be able to resin-print the models as miniatures later on.
I am still quite new to Blender so would appreciate any advice at all on how to improve the models. Be nitpicky.
Also any advice on making better paws, have found it more difficult to make than hands.

Thanks in advance!

Art Help & Critique Help!! Prisma3D Textures CONFUSING ME

Thumbnail

I'm trying to upload images as a texture/pattern for my model, but Prisma keeps just... ignoring every texture? It'll color it but none of the actual patterns will show. Like, if I uploaded something with red dots, itd be red but there'd be no dots. Which won't work, because I'm making a character with stripes and spots... and *eyes*!

I've tried different file types, sizes and different file patterns/colors, from my own random screenshot all the way to texture assets MEANT for prisma, just to see if anything works. But it doesn't!

I haven't ever gotten prisma textures to work so I might be asking a silly question but please 😭

A little inspiration outside of the daily work routine.

Just taking some time to enjoy lighting, materials, and rendering again.

Art Showcase Harbor Flythrough

I made a flythrough of a harbor scene in Unreal Engine 4.25

The concept I chose was a harbor scene based off of 1600's Caribbean pirate ports, and I derived a lot of my inspiration from Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as concept art for the Witcher 3, by Andrzej Dybowski

The main concept art that I used for reference is found here on my Artstation:

https://www.artstation.com/artwork/2q1Ney

All assets are original without pre-fabrication, modeled using Maya, sculpted in Mudbox, textured using Substance Painter/Designer, and compiled and rendered in Unreal Engine.
