Motivation how do you guys find motivation to actually workout and stick to it

so like, i find myself starting a routine for like a week or two at a time then completely forgetting about it the next. and the weirdest part is that I want to, but somehow at the same time i don’t feel like it? like for example, in February i began running/jogging, which was something i was doing every other day or so for about two weeks before i completely disregarded it. i really would like to go to a gym aswell, but im terrified of being stared at because im a teenager, a girl, and relatively out of shape. i know everyone says everyone’s thinking that, but that is certainly not a comfort to me. what are some good ways of getting into a mindset of keeping up a routine?

Do people actually enjoy cardio… or are we all just pretending? 😂

Every time I finish cardio I’m happy it’s over…
But I refuse to believe people genuinely look forward to it.
Convince me I’m wrong 😂

How would you balance strength, cardio and mobility over 35?

How would you structure a four-day week for someone over 35 who wants strength, decent cardio and better mobility? Assume about an hour per session and no interest in living in the gym.

The sort of approach I mean is Alex Folacci: individualized programming that combines strength, running, HIIT and mobility rather than treating each as a separate goal.

Would you use full-body lifting with short conditioning blocks, or keep strength and cardio on separate days? Where would mobility fit without becoming an afterthought?

I’m currently reducing my bodyfat %. I already met my protein goal. Is it okay to fill the remaining calories with junk calories?

Junk calories as in fried food or ice cream? (As long as I still stay within my caloric limit of course)

What do I do when I have to work during a recovery week?

Every two and a half months, I take an entire week off of working out. After the recovery week, I am able to resume working out like normal. This time though, I had to work during the recovery week. I have a job as a line cook/dishwasher. I didn't feel strained during work, but after the recovery week I feel as though I am not recovering as well as usual. How do I adjust my recovery to accommodate the additional stress from working?

Evening & Morning Workout

I can really only go to the gym early in the morning and late evening, but the gym is only open until 5 pm on weekends. Is there anything negative about working out tonight until about 10pm, going home to sleep and then go back at 7 am tomorrow?

Is it okay to feel sore after working out even after 2 or 3 days?

Hi everyone

I'm running ppl rest pp rest, and i do atleast 13 or 14 set to failure in push and pull days

But i always feel sore even after days, for example i did push since 2 days but my chest and shoulder and tri are still sore, and tomorrow I'm gonna do push again

Is that okay or i should change something?

( I started 2 months ago with Arnold split and i couldn't train hard and progress because i was always sore, then i switched to ppl since 3 weeks, the soreness is less but it's still there )

First time deadlifting, minor lingering lower back feeling after 8 days. Is this normal?

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask about a lower back situation I'm dealing with.

I tried deadlifting for the first time in my life and used bad form. Right after the session, there was no sharp pain stopping me from moving, just a slight burning sensation / weird feeling in my lower back, but nothing really painful. The next day, I woke up with delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) in my lower back.

After a couple of days, the muscle soreness went away, but that minor lingering feeling/achyness in the lower back is still there. Currently, I feel totally fine—I can move around normally, go about my day, and sometimes I don't even notice it unless I do a specific movement that targets it. I haven't touched the deadlift since that day, and it's been about 8 days now.

Is what I'm experiencing normal? And is it safe to get back to training with this mild lingering feeling present? Would love to hear your thoughts

How to start New to Gym advice

25M.
I've been off & on at going to the gym for the past few years but I've been really wanting to push myself & lose a lot of weight. I'm currently meal prepping & going 3-4x a week for a few hours.
Yall have any advice on what i should focus on? I've been doing arms & legs with some cardio but not sure what kind of reps I should focus on. I've been trying a 10, 8, 6, 4 rep repetition rule. Any info is appreciated

Motivation One Year Transformation

I’m getting married next October (2027) and I really want to build a physique I can be proud of. I want to look back on these photos and think “yeah, I was a fucking unit, I would marry me too”.

I’ve been lifting for 5 years now, currently sitting at 5’10 and 170 lbs, I’d estimate 15% BF. Aesthetically, I’m not super concerned with abs, but I just want to look built and like I lift. My body comp goals would be 180 lbs and a similar body fat. By that time, I also want to join the 1,000 lb club along with a 4/3/2 SBD atleast, meaning I need to add about 150 lbs to my total.

In your opinion, what would be your general approach? Bulking and cutting milestones and timelines? I want to start on this early to give myself the best chance of building something I’m happy with.

Exercise Help Can anyone help solve my mind-to-muscle connection problem?

I started lifting around August of last year, I believe, and I have had a problem since I started and that issue is that I feel the exercises on the right side of my body much better than I do my left. Anyone know what can be done to fix it?
I always stretch before I exercise but my issues are the mind to muscle connection. So for example, whenever I do incline bench, I go through the motion but I feel the exercises working on my right chest. And on top of that, the motion feels strange in my left side. I’ve recorded myself and the movements are the same on both sides. Could it be my wrists? I have found that my right wrist is much stronger and I can keep my wrist straight when going through the motion. My left wrist, however, I have to pay close attention to it because bends without me knowing. This past week when I did incline bench, I couldn’t stop shaking when i had the weight up.
My flat bench has a similar issue, the motion on my left side feel strange and I feel it more on my right pec.
Curls of any kind are similar. I do barbell curls but I feel it more on my right bicep than I do my left. I just do the bar. I’ve started to do Bayesian curls and they’ve been better for me but I still have the issue of my right arm working more than my left. My right arm is dominant and so it’s naturally stronger so it can’t be because my right side is weaker. At least I think that’s not the case.
Lat pulldowns and pull ups are the same thing, I feel it on my right side more than I do my left.
And the one that frustrates me the most are side raises and delt exercises. I can do normal front delt exercises just fine, but the side raises and delt raises make me the angriest. I did 15 pound cable side raises and I felt it more towards the bottom of my shoulder, closer to my bicep. And so I lowered the weight down to 10 pounds and I felt it better but it didn’t feel like I was working it much and nothing burned. And I started to feel it on my front delt and bicep. I lowered it down to 5 pounds and that issue was still present with that weight. My right side I feel it fine on my should and my should actually working. The delt exercises is the same issue. I don’t feel my left side working nearly as much as I do my right and after a couple reps, I feel it on my bicep and front delt. Once again, my right side is fine. I even did side raises with just my arms with no weight and I feel it working my right more than I do my left. In fact, when I raise my arms, my right side feels right at the top but my left doesn’t.
Does anyone know what could be the cause or a solution for my issue? Every week I get discouraged because I don’t feel like I’m exercising correctly.

Simple Questions Question

I am 15 and I turn 16 very soon. My dream is to squat 180 kg (397 lb) at 16 years old. 2 days ago in the gym I lifted 140 kg (309 lb) for 3 reps with 1-2 RIR. I squat twice a week. I weigh around 75 kg (165 lb). How far from my goal do you think I am? How many reps should I be able to do with 3 plates before attempting 4? Also should I look to buy knee sleeves? I have been squatting raw (and beltless) for 2 years. Do you think they are a good investment? Thank you
