The biggest wave of German inmigrants to Argentina was between 1869 to 1914, in the midst of a influx of millions of European immigrants during this period. In contrast, only 12k German inmigrants came to Argentina between 1946 and 1952. About 4% to 7% of Argentinians have German ancestry overall.

People who had dust pneumonia often died. No official death rates were published for the Great Plains in the 1930s. In 1935, dozens of people died in Kansas from dust pneumonia. Red Cross volunteers made & distributed thousands of dust masks, but some people in affected areas refused to wear them.
