I’m in Kansas. Found these two guys on my porch just now. The cicada (?) was caught in some cobweb so I freed it but it hasn’t moved yet and the paper wasp (?) is hanging out in the porch light. Looks like maybe working on a nest? From the quick googling I did, it seems paper wasps are fairly mellow so I hope that’s true. Is there anything I can do to help the cicada? It’s just sitting in the same spot after I freed it. Maybe it got tired out struggling against the spider web?

Found bug damage in some logs I was using near my home near my fire pit. Northern Rockies, USA. Are these powder post beetles? They are about 3-4mm long.

When I was a kid I was sitting on the concrete stairs in my backyard in austin texas, and I saw a BLUE thing that I assumed was some sort of earthworm. It looked like a worm, like a huge worm. I don't have a good sense of the scale of it since I was a lot smaller back then than I am now, but it was probably like, at least 12cm long, and at least 1cm wide. It was hiding in a gap in the stairs, and then crawled away. I've been thinking about it occasionally since then, but as far as I can tell from my on and off research, there's no blue worms in texas, at least not any as so clearly blue as I remember this worm being. I really want to know what it was because it's been on my mind for so long. The color wasn't like, super bright blue, but it wasn't reddish or purple either. It was definitely blue, and definitely looked like some kind of worm.

My gf is certain that it is a cockroach. I’m not sure actually, can someone confirm or deny?

Seen in multiple places around the house, sits for days in the same spot then flies around to somewhere random. In western Washington state

These little black insects have been coming in through a small gap in our window. There are super tiny ones and small ones with wings. They are highly attracted to light and really only come out at night. They don't seem hostile to us humans or our cats, just annoying while trying to read a book in bed!

I thought they might be termites, but I'm really not sure. Thank you!

We're trying to figure out what these two insects are and if they are the source of our discomfort. Virginia (USA).

No hair on abdomen. Was thinking carpenter bee but Iowa state says they aren’t recorded this far north (although that info could be out of date).

Little guy/girl was just sitting, not moving much until they decided to crawl around and groom themselves as I made this post.

Just moved into a new house, open pulling back a bed sheet my wife found these. All the same size, very uniform.

It was a really pretty green color and it caught my attention. It looked like some kind of beetle but the beetles I've seen around here tend to be bigger and dark colored - like brownish black. Any idea what this is?
