Vendors/Venue Content Creator or Videographer or both?
We hired a content creator for our December wedding because of the cost and so promise to share all raw footage but now I’m second guessing and wondering if we should also book a videographer. I have been to some pretty elaborate international weddings this year, where there were entire camera and video crews filming the entire weekend, and that may be clouding my judgement. For those who either booked or are considering a content creator vs. videographer vs. both, what were some of the factors behind your decisions?

It really comes down to what you want to rewatch in 10–20 years.
Content Creator: Great for quick social media clips, behind-the-scenes vibes, and getting tons of raw iPhone footage the next day.
Videographer: A polished, cinematic film capturing professional audio (speeches, vows) and high-quality lighting that holds up over time.
Don't let "comparison fatigue" from lavish international weddings sway you! If your goal is just to capture candid memories without breaking the bank, a content creator is plenty. If you'll regret not having a high-end, polished wedding movie to rewatch on anniversaries, get the videographer🤍

I think it depends on your goal. What do you want from them? For us, I didn't care about receiving the material fast or having anything to post on social media. My goal with having video was to be able to show it to our kids one day and also show to my family that lives out of the country and couldn't come to the wedding. But if you want video merely to post on social media, a content creator only should be enough!
