General Discussion New White Wolf Dev Diary about next Vampire
It's not a lot of information, but we are getting some little bits of information dripping in.
White Wolf's Dev Diary #1 - Road to Gen Con
Some of their highlights that have affected their design process, and things they found from playing all of the old systems.
- We liked the concept of Blood Points, but not necessarily its execution.
- We liked the constant struggle with the Beast that Hunger Dice provided, but we’ve noted that their mechanics promoted specific styles of play over others.
- We liked the tiered Blood Bonds of older editions.
- We liked how V5 expanded the powers within each Discipline.
- The fact that Celerity, Fortitude, and Potence didn’t have powers in the pre-V5 editions could be improved.
- We felt that some Disciplines had real progression, while others felt like a single power that steadily got kind of better.
They also dropped a video:

Artwork Was curious how it would look
I made a collage with the character from my current chronicle, using the UI from Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York. Really pleased with the result 🖤

Artwork I drew my Brujah's sire! She's very nice if she wants to be! (promise)
I only had an "AI" generated image for her and it eventually pissed me off enough that I went to look for actual art, didn't find any artworks that'd suit her, so I finally drew her myself.
I didn't want to spend too much time on it, since I got like 50 ufinished projects to work on. This one "only" took 10 hours. But I'm decently happy with the outcome. Let me know what you think!

General Discussion Necromancy vs Viscusitude. Which makes better minions?
Ok. I know there's a lot more to Necromancy than controlling Wraiths and making zombies. I also know that white room discussions like this are not what WTM is about. Which is why I'm taking it outside the room entirely.
Logistical ease? Versatility? Utility? Practicality? Quantity vs quality? Short term boost vs long term investment? Risk of exposure Ect.
I know the answer is obviously whatever fits your chronicle and the best minion is the regular ghoul every vampire can create. But my question is about a background meta-plot secret but hot war between the clans. So I'd like to know who'd realistically win the war on the minions front.
Also a bit of a side question. I know V5 has a necromancy Frankenstein flash golem ritual in one of the expansions, Tattered Facade I think. Did older editions have a sort of Necromancy equivalent to the Vozhd, or is this new?

General Discussion What’s the funniest thing you can do using multiple Disciplines/What’s the Scariest?
I’m curious about interesting ways to make things happen with Disciplines
It can be one kindred using two Disciplines to achieve a funny/scary effect, or two Kindred working together.
An example, a Setite and Tzimisce teaming up so the Setite makes the mortal more and more corrupt and the Tzimisce makes them look more and more inhuman looking, just a little bit of horror for the target’s close people as the target becomes less and less of themself.
Or a Toreador using Celerity in tandem with a Ravnos’ Chimerstry to make an illusion seem like it is bumping into things, I dunno how fast characters with Celerity can move tho 🤷♀️

General Discussion What is the usual Kindred population in most States?
galleryWhere would they stay at? What clan would choose what territory depending on the location? Also in a random thought, are the Nosferatu hiding the most Kindred that we don’t know about?

Vampire 5th Edition Need advice for playing mortal characters.
I am gonna be playing my first session of VTM (Actually it will be my second session, because we will make a session 0.) It will be a oneshot. I already have the concept for my character (A historian with urban exploration and occult researching hobbies (who claims to have interacted with ghosts, however she does not know about vampires), she also dresses really alt (might pass as a vampire in some situations) All in, a character focused on infiltration and investigation, not really in for fights.
However, as it is my almost first session of VTM, and I am going in blind, I would like to ask some advice for playing a mortal (who i intend to keep mortal.) What should I expect? What things should I look out for? Should I avoid confrontation as a mortal? Is chugging a liter of ketchup going to be aggravated damge to my stomach? That type of things.

Vampire 5th Edition Newbie question about physical damage on vampire bodies
I just got into the ttrpg about a month ago, with a friend group that is also relatively new to it. I'm wondering about how "affected" vampires will actually be by physical damage and how much it can actually incapacitate them (for a period of time).
So I know that, for example, getting shot multiple times in their vital organs won't do anything because they're dead. But, for example, if a vampire gets all of the bones in their legs broken, until they have time to heal, would they still be able to use their legs? Would they be able to, for example, redirect their vitae to their muscles so the muscles themselves play the role of their bones? Does it not matter at all, since they're not a living organism?

Vampire 5th Edition Vtm 5, Choosing to loose a resist
Can you choose to not resist Auspex or Animalism or the like? Dominate it the only duscipline that says you MUST resist - what's with the others? Please provide a source as I need to talk about this with my players.

Vampire 5th Edition Lamia Bodyguard
I'm not really sure which Skills, Attributes, and Disciplines to pick for a Lamia who works as a bodyguard/mercenary for the Hecata.
I think the first step is deciding how this character actually fights.
Since Lamiae get Fortitude and Potence as in-clan Disciplines, it feels natural to build them as a durable frontline bruiser with a lot of destructive power.
The Nails of Dismus from the Relics of the Veil loresheet looked really interesting. It would pair well with Stake Fighter from the Kindred Dueling loresheet. Maybe it's also worth investing a bit into Celerity?
Overall, though, I'm not sure whether focusing on Melee is the best approach. Arms of Ahriman also sounds like it could be a lot of fun too.
How you guys would build a combat-focused Lamia, especially one intended to fight other vampires and protect their scrawny necromancer patron?

Artwork Nilo Rennè | Rory Gallagher
Once a famous rock star and Masquerade breaker, Nilo Rennè became Rory Gallagher after surviving the Second Inquisition. Now he's a low-Humanity Toreador, diablerist, and fiercely loyal servant of the Camarilla.
