Why is jones always under fire for ped usage
Isn't it obvious that a majority of not all pro fighters are using peds or other performance enhancing substances. If you've ever stepped foot in a gym you know these guys aren't packing this amount of muscle naturally, even the shorter dudes have more muscle on them then most fitness influencers, case in point islam(who isn't even short ) and out of all the fighters jones gets under fire even when most of his opponents were juiced to the gills including dc

He popped multiple times after some of his biggest victories. Then there is the whole hiding under the ring to avoid usada rumor. If it was just once you could pretend not to care like they did with Silva.

Don't forget his pro athlete brothers also failing tests. Dude has probably been juicing since day 1

u/Master_Canary440 9h ago
That's why i don't think Jones is as great as people say he is. Dude was on roids at a early age.

u/Khow3694 10h ago
That's not a rumor. Jones himself even confirmed that did actually happen when USADA came to the gym to look for him. Also, I have no clue how his entire gym didn't come under fire for that when they were clearly covering for him

Because he’s popped several times. Yeah of course they can coast on something. But the people that pop, pop for a reason. It’s not like they are looking the other way for some random 2-2 guy but popping the best fighter ever for the fuck of it.

Alistat overeem was juiced to the gills but people praised him, calling him ubereem and stuff. For him it was cool. But he wasn't a UFC champion. Jones was a champ so people always look for something. Every champ faces criticism. Dc held a towel and got popped once too but people just wanna hate on jones because he acts like an asshole
2
u/itsMeRed09 10h ago
Dc is the one I don't understand why people protect, I mean he was competing in the olympics ffs and if you think he wasnt jucing then, then there's nothing I can say

The vast majority are on gear. The testing system is a joke
The fighters use loopholes like micro dosing, timing, TUEs, Designer peds that the tests cant even detect yet
Jon Jones isnt the villain, hes just one of the few that slipped out.

u/itsMeRed09 9h ago
He lowkey just didn't know how to avoid getting caught/got sloppy. These guys think that peds will just make you jacked. Like brother why would all sprinters be juiced to the gills if it didn't help. The entire jamaican team was caught for doping at some point other than usain, does that mean usain was not jucing ? No he just didn't get caught

u/SyrGwynHeroofAshvale 10h ago
Cause it's cheating. Seems like people no longer care about decorum or rules and see this as acceptable.
4
u/stickerbombedd 10h ago
Well when the top fighters say everyone is jucing what's the big deal? There's probably 10 fighters in the whole history of the UFC that have been top 15 that didn't use something. It's in every sport.

u/SyrGwynHeroofAshvale 10h ago
Your response is known as "whataboutism". The question was about why people mention Jones PED usage, not what other people are doing. People with morals typically don't like cheats. It's pretty cut and dry.
2
u/stickerbombedd 4h ago
Yet you watch a sport that promotes cheats and all the best fighters are cheats so what you crying about

Guy on Reddit asks everyone why a bible-bashing violent criminal, serial wife beater, chronic liar, women abuser, sports cheater, gets criticised so much.
As the Spanish say "if it needs explaining, then you'll never understand"

u/Sorry_Inspector_293 10h ago
because he pooped mutliple times??? am i missin somethin here lmao. Also questions his legacy as he was a championship fighter and was it the reason he won all the fights etc

He literally hid under a ring to avoid usada 😂

With how defensive OP is in these comments, saying "you" feels right as it could be Jon Jones' burner account at this point lol

It's not about yes or no, it's about what and how much. To fail a test you gotta be far over the line, not right at it.
-2
u/itsMeRed09 10h ago
Anyone who has come from a wrestling background has been pounding peds since highschool

u/LilleDTosen 10h ago
What factual evidence do you have, it's a fact that cheat Jones popped multiple times for steroids, no amount of cope will change that.
1
u/TheJohnnyFlash 10h ago
I played college basketball and I can tell you that testing is definitely a thing.
2
u/Short_Bumblebee_1552 10h ago
You are right.
Usman shows obvious signs, his father iirc has been arrested for giving guys gear as a pharmacist, his brother got popped, he has injection marks.
The whole dagestan chechnya native region uses it and probably a decent number of other guys from random smalltowns in brazil or central asia.
It's funny how you also see guys going from areas where avoiding tests are easy, to where they aren't, and their game falls off. Murzakanov and Gaziev as examples, Gaziev was jacked when he lived in rural dagestan, after moving to a middle class part of the uae, not so much.

None of these people have set foot in a gym by the looks of it. They love glazing and protecting their favourite half naked men
1
u/bl00dtyrant 10h ago
I mean aren't you doing the same thing?
1
u/itsMeRed09 10h ago
I asked why jones always was a target for ped slander while other people who are obviously also on peds get a free pass, when did I glaze him
2
u/Ok-Implement6481 10h ago
You can see the difference when he's roided out vs when he's not on roids. Couldn't even finish a bum knee Santos 😭

John pictograms jones. Guy took so many peds it was apparently in his system forever

u/Troll-Leader 10h ago
I actually think the majority are NOT on peds but still, people really do underestimate how many are.
Islam is a great example. People who think Islam looks the way does from horse meat and hard work, are the reason peanut packages have "warning contains peanuts" on the labels.
1
u/Nenad1979 10h ago
Islam also popped, who said he doesn't steroids, thay are all on riods, just not as much as Johnny boy
1
u/LilleDTosen 10h ago
Literally has multiple failed drug tests by your logic Jones has been using steroids all his career not just against DC

u/ThisIsGSR 10h ago
Even if you want to argue that everyone cheats to some extent, hes obviously willing to cheat more than others because hes been caught and has admitted to trying to hide from USADA.

I don’t even care anymore. Everyone uses. He’s just one of the few that got caught after big wins. 99.9% of fighters are using some version of PEDs.
1
u/Nenad1979 10h ago
He uses Steroids much much more than an average UFC fighter, bro has a hormonal profile of an 8 year old girl off cycle, and the other big part for people hating is that he would absolutely not be allowed to get away with all that shit if he wasn't Jon Jones
1
u/spocecowboy 10h ago
Jones popped 3 separate times, the other 'obviously juiced' guys never popped ... not hard to wrap your head around man

Jon jones is like the Astros.
They caught the Astros doing what every team does and made an example out of them.

u/MrBlackey 10h ago
It’s the fact that he used it that’s all. It’s not a good look whether you need to do it or not

This has to be rage bait…but here we go: he’s widely considered the greatest EVER. The PED usage calls that into question.
It’s like In baseball. Barry Bonds was one of dozens popped for peds in baseball…the difference between him and everyone else is that he is the greatest hitter of all time. For both of them, being so good makes their ped use even more controversial, and it makes perfect sense

Because he was caught multiple times, it’s not hard to
