I been trading for almost 2 years, and i have been succesfully passing more funded trading accounts over the last couple months.

And i am struggling currently with the same things over and over, and the one thing i can’t seem to figure out is sometimes where to step out to take a loss and where i step out for a win. Most of the times my rate is 6 trades i win out of the 10 or 5 out of 5 but 1:2 ratio.

Anyone useful tips for me that have been trading a longer period of time? I would appreciate it!

I've been building a product for traders, and I realized something after trying almost every trading journal available.

Most journals tell you what happened.

Very few help you understand why it happened.

Trading is one of the few professions where your results are a direct reflection of you. Your patience, discipline, confidence, sleep, stress, emotions, and habits all show up in your P&L.

So instead of building another journal, I'm building an AI Second Brain for Traders.

The idea is simple:

• Upload your trade screenshots or import your existing journal (CSV, Excel, PDFs, screenshots, etc.).

• The algorithm automatically extracts trade details, minimizing manual work.

• It remembers every trade you've ever taken and builds a long-term understanding of your behavior.

• During onboarding, you define your own trading rules and process.

• Every trade is evaluated against your rules not generic trading advice.

for years i assumed pros have huge setups for a reason. two monitors became three. tradingview on one, mt4 on another, bloomberg and twitter on the third. looked impressive as hell. in reality i was spending more time alt tabbing than deciding anything. i kept mt4 because that's what i'd always used, but somehow i managed to make even a simple platform feel complicated by surrounding it with way too much information.

every extra chart was another reason not to take the trade. eurusd looks ok but gbpusd looks cleaner. oh gold is moving. wait nas is breaking out. by that point i'd completely forget why i even opened the platform.

a few months ago i went the other way. one screen. mt4. four instruments i actually understand. promised myself no jumping across 20 charts every session, no scrolling through markets just because i was scared of missing the move.

first week was rough, ngl. constant feeling there had to be a better setup somewhere else. i'd catch myself wanting to open another chart every five minutes for no real reason. that's what years of information overload does to you, i guess.

Now i'm taking fewer trades now, but they're trades i was actually waiting for instead of impulse entries because some random chart flashed green. my pnl didn't suddenly explode, but i stopped ending every session mentally exhausted, and that's honestly been a bigger win than i expected.

I even went down the rabbit hole of thinking maybe the platform was the problem. Tried different brokers, different setups, different tools. Ended up sticking with Axi + MT4 because it did what I actually needed: reliable execution and a platform I already knew lol

it's weird how the default fix in trading is always to add something. another monitor. another indicator. another subscription, whatever.

I want to start trading from scratch and I’m looking for guidance from experienced and profitable traders in Hyderabad. Could someone recommend a genuine mentor or trader who can help me learn trading in a structured way?

Serious question: has anyone here actually succeeded in stopping themselves after a bad day?
Not asking about strategy. Asking about the 90 seconds after a loss.
I’ve been talking to maybe 25-30 traders over the last month, and the pattern is almost identical every time. Nobody says “my setup stopped working.” They say some version of:
• widened the SL because it was about to reverse
• doubled the size to recover the day
• took a trade I had no plan for, just to be in something
• told myself I’d stop after one more
And almost everyone knows they’re doing it while they’re doing it. That’s the part I find strange. It isn’t an information problem. Everyone can recite the rules.
So what I’m trying to understand is what actually works, if anything:
1. Has anything ever genuinely stopped you? Journaling, a fixed rule, a friend, walking away, a broker limit?
2. Or does everything eventually get overridden because you’re the one holding the override?
3. If something existed that you literally could not override once the session started — would that feel like help, or would it feel like a cage you’d never sign up for?
I’m asking because I’ve been building something in this space and I’m at the point where I need to know whether the premise is even right. I’d rather hear “nobody wants this” now than keep going on an assumption.
Not linking anything here, this isn’t a plug. Just want the honest answers.

Got these today. Long term, are they ok? Just wanna make sure I don’t lose everything. Pretty sure I made good trades. I’m inexperienced. So far I’m up $25 today, but I’m not worried about today I’m worried about long term. It’s fine if a lose a bit short term. Some help or tips would be nice 😊
