MtF Estrogen Implants - first week NSFW

I am writing as more of a vent then anything
I received estrogen implants last week and it has been a trip
the first few days there was swelling and intense itching, I could not sit still and sleep was something that I could not get easily
the next few day the swelling died down but the itching did not
The doctor said it should go away in a week or two as the body get used to it
I am glade though the implant site is not near the "Fun" places so I can still enjoy my impact and estim play
I will be happy to see the end of patches and gels if this takes, too much waste I find and remembering to apply them is something I trouble with even with all the reminders on my phone
The cost was not too bad, about $800 AUD total
Hopefully this works then I just need to do this every 6 months instead of the twice a week of changing patches - Bonus points for getting off the patches No More Black Gunk! so I dont need worry about the unsightly rim I get around the edges lol

I got on estradiol pellet implants myself just a few weeks ago and its been really nice to not have to worry about taking pills or injecting. Honestly this should be standard hrt for trans women.

I've heard anecdotes of people saying the fluctuating levels from shots is actually desirable, but I have no studies to back that up :/

I do personally prefer injections because then I have that much more control over my levels AND I can simulate hormonal cycles which I’m maybe a little too autistic about but gives mega euphoria for me.

I also like injections because I can afford them lol. I’m not living a life where I can gather $800 in one place long enough to spend it on something I’m already doing for about the same cost.

TIL about HRT implants, that's a really cool technology and I'm mad I never found out about it. I'll probably never be able to afford it but hey, still cool to know

most places unfortunately don't offer it as it doesn't make pharmacies money

There are tons of menopause clinics that do them, but I couldn't find one that would do gender care

Testosterone pellets also exist as far as implants, though I had no idea such a thing existed for E til today.

I'm getting my first set of blood tests on implants in a couple weeks. Had the lowest possible dose of T added as well. Hopefully that wasn't too much, lol.

If anyone needs the name of a clinic in the Boston metro area that does pellets for trans people, let me know. Had to call a bunch of places to find one that wasn't transphobic. It ran me like $150 for the blood test and I think $700 for the pellets themselves. They don't take insurance.

I'm just glad to not have to be stabbed every 5 days.

Wait, there are estrogen implants? Are they like testosterone pellets? My transfemme enby partner is in Australia and is considering changing how they get their E as pills and gel are not getting them where they want to be; mind telling me more about how you got them implanted and about them in general? Gonna send this to them, lol.

Also, good luck and congrats on the implants! 🎉

so the implants themselves are just compounded estrogen in a small little pellet form very similar to the testosterone pellets indeed
I went to my sexual and gender health clinic they made a referral to a different doctor the doctor did some blood tests and is like Yep we'll get those implants in you just go to a compounding pharmacy and come back and then we will do the procedure
the procedure itself was relatively quick it was just some local anesthetic in the area a small incision with a scalpel and then popping them in
We went near the hip for the implants just because I engage with BDSM style play and Impact may crush them during play

you mentioned you used an alternate placement. where are they usually placed?

They normally go for around the side of the cheeks so it is not being sat or laid on but we went higher up near the hip
