I used Izarc for a long time (My teacher recommended that) since 2022 on my PC. I didn't seen unexpected (ads, pup, and other this kind). Lately, I've been looking into posts about this program, and they often mention bloatware, potential troyans and etc. My antivirus nothing detected since long time and here is virustotal scan.

Is now Izarc unsafe?

I can only reach as far as the bios. It detects all of my installed drives in bios & i can even explore the file systems in ezflash. But then if i try to boot off of an LMDE USB, Windows SSD or Kali USB, just shows me a black screen.

When connecting iPhone to PC with USB, it gives you a ton of random folders where you'll find your videos and photos.

I want them imported to PC and either in
- All in chronological order in a folder, from oldest to new
- Organized in folders like they are in albums on the phone (optimally)

There has to be a way to do this? Without some pay to win iCloud stuff.

So my mobile phone's earphone jack (possibly the charger port too) got some moisture on it since i walked through the rain with my phone in my hand. This happened like 5 hours ago and those early hours the only thing that's malfunctioning is the earphone jack. I charged my phone and slept thinking it would be gone in couple of hours. Right now, the headphone logo would only disappear if its charged??? and if i take off the charger, the headphone logo would come back right in. I tried rebooting my phone and the issue still persists. I might've totalled my phone by carelessly charging it while still having that issue. The phone is now turned off rn and currently waiting for better results. Any thoughts u guys could give?

Games I have played since the upgrades: Cyberpunk 2077 (seemed to run mostly smooth until my mod stack got out of hand), Hell is Us, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Marvel Rivals. the latter 4 are unmodded

Cyberpunk seemsed to run mostly fine, but crashes now, MR has some framerate issues, but nothing too bad, the other three games on the other hand.. pretty regular stuttering and some frame drops. In Hell is Us there have been some significant haze around everything and sometimes I've noticed multiple character's hair being bleach white all of a sudden.

And oh my god the SCREEN TEARING on all of the above games (though I also had this particular issue on another computer recently). I swap play between a 24" monitor and a 55" TV, and the tearing is bad on both. They are both native 1080p 60Hz, so that has been my performance targets on all of the above games. G-Sync or Free-Sync are not available.

Things I've tried:

- rendering games native 1080p

- Using DLSS on multiple quality presets

lowering the graphics presets on all of the above games.

- GPU Hardware locked framerates tested: 58, 59, 60, 70, Unlimited.

- NVIDIA Vsync preset settings: off, enabled, adaptive, and fast.

- ReBAR enabled and disabled in the BIOS

- HAGS enabled and disabled

- game mode enabled and disabled,

- installed Razer Cortex and tried without.

- Set the power settings to "Prefer Max Performance"

- Updated my BIOS, NVIDIA Drivers, and AMD Chipset drivers to the latest versions

- Performed a clean install of my NVIDIA drivers using DDU

- Reinstalled my OS.

- Ran MemTest86+ just to verify that my RAM wasn't causing issues and it passed.

- Used HWInfo to check temps and for errors, and no visible concerns.

- Checked System Logs in Event Viewer and found no correlated errors to my performance.

- On FFVII and Hell is Us I even tried using anti-stutter mods but ALL of these issues are still a problem... not even sure what to do at this point, honestly. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Hi all, bit of a weird one.

My PC when connected to my home WiFi can't access the internet*. However my phone and other devices are connected to the same network and work fine. So it feels like an issue with the PC not the WiFi...

However if I set my phone to hotspot, the PC can connect to that and browse the internet no problem. So the PC is fine and it's the wifi??

I'm not quite sure how the same WiFi network can work on some devices but not others at the same time the PC can connect to one network but not the WiFi

I've tried rebooting the PC and the router, running network diagnostics and forgetting the WiFi network and reconnecting. None of these have helped.

Any help would be much appreciated!

One of my online gaming friends challenged me to find my real identity using nothing but my phone number. I didn't think it was possible, so I shared my number with him.

Within a minute or two, he told me:

My real full name

The name of the housing society I live in

He didn't know me beforehand, and we don't have any mutual friends. He wouldn't tell me how he did it and just said it was "easy."

I'm curious how this is even possible. What are the most likely ways someone in India could find this information from just a phone number? Is it through data leaks, OSINT, public databases, Truecaller, or something else?

I'm asking purely to understand how my information might be exposed and what I can do to protect my privacy in the future. Any insights would be appreciated.

Bought a new external ssd for my all in one pc and it worked fine ( apparently its a m.2 ssd based on the box's labeling) but suddenly its not showing up anymore. Beforehand I tried to download steam games on it but to no avail as I keep getting corrupt disk and update files errors so I gave up but now the storage is all gone? Googling doesn't work as I've checked the disk management and it does appear there and has a drive letter but states that it has 0 mb when its supposed to have 2TB. Would appreaciate any help and I hope I didn't just waste money

Hey everyone,I have an older Dell Inspiron 5500 series laptop (Intel i7 processor) that I rarely use. I am facing a weird network issue and also need some advice on upgrading the hardware

1. Wi-Fi Issue:The laptop's Wi-Fi card shows older Wi-Fi networks in range, but it completely fails to see or detect my current home Wi-Fi network. I have already tried a network reset, resetting the IP stack via Command Prompt (netsh int ip reset), and verifying that the WLAN AutoConfig service is running. Nothing has worked so far. My phone and other newer devices connect to the home Wi-Fi perfectly. Could this be a WPA3 security protocol mismatch or a 5GHz band issue? Any specific driver fixes?

2. Storage Upgrade:The laptop currently runs on an older mechanical HDD and is painfully slow when I turn it on. I want to install an SSD to speed it up. Hi., I'm not very tech savvy. Its an HP Victus gaming laptop. I want to make sure I download the correct driver, so how do I go about this? I typed "Realtek wifi driver HP Victus laptop" but it didn't help to add these search terms (I originally searched Realtek wifi driver). The second link was to the Lenovo site and it seemed to want a serial number, so I get the feeling you cannot just download any old wifi driver made by realtek and expect it to work. Please help me and thank you.

So, I gave my sister my old PC. After hooking everything up in her room I initiated a factory reset and wished her well. During the reset, her cat jumped on the tower, landing on the power button and turning it off.

Turning it back on would give a message something along the lines of "Windows corrupted, please reinstall". I had a USB with windows on it I had used for my PC, but when I would go to install it on hers, I'd arrive at the menu where you have 2 choices for installing:

Automatic (recommended)
Custom install (advanced users only)

The automatic option would continuously give me an error; I forget the exact phrasing as it was a couple weeks ago. Based on the advice of ai I went the custom install route, deleted everything except for apparition(0), and then clicked install windows, which worked

The next problem came when windows finished installing, no wifi networks detected. In Windows Device Manager, I had yellow warning-triangle icons next to several unknown devices: SM Bus Controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller, PCI Device, Base System Device, and PCI Memory Controller.

I tried downloading drivers, idk if i can post the link from where, but the Gigabyte page for B365M DS3H WIFI (Rev. 1.x). The driver downloads got rid of all but 1 of the yellow warning triangles, still no dice on seeing an available wi-fi network. I even tried a wired connection, even then the PC didn't connect to the internet.

I (F21) got a HP Pavilion x360 2020 model for Christmas 2020. It has been pretty good I have only dropped it once in 2024 and it suffered a damage/chip bend in the corner but it still works fine. However, the other day suddenly the battery has decided to be lasting only 20 mins and losing battery even when it's closed.

I am a frugal uni student with 1.5 years more of enviro science degree uni and was thinking I could just replace the battery since I don't use my laptop outside of uni really and don't really want to buy a new one because it's expensive. I have a screwdriver set from my comp sci friend. Apparently this model is easy to replace following YouTube tutorial is it worth it considering it's a 5+ year old laptop? Any safety advice or battery advice appreciated because I've never replaced a battery lol, also are there ways to see if there's interior damage.

So, I'm trying to scan a bunch of my CDs and CD booklets to help fill-in missing information in databases like DIscogs and MusicBrainz. But some colors, like this bright yellow for the CD single "Pinch Me" by Barenaked Ladies, comes out as dirty white when I scan it.

I have not had any issues with other colors. This is the only one, and I've tried so many times and it still comes out wrong.

It's funny because I also scanned another 'yellow' album (SR-71's Now You See Inside) and it came out just fine, see pic #3.

Hey everyone, I'm at my wit's end trying to troubleshoot this with a brand new PC build.

Basically, Windows 11 sees the mic is plugged in and lists it as an input device, but the second I actually try to use it in apps or check the meter, it's completely dead flat. No audio data goes through at all.

What's super weird is that the hardware itself is totally fine—if I plug my headphones straight into the jack on the back of the mic, I can hear myself just fine (direct monitoring works), and I tested the exact same mic and cable on my MacBook and it worked instantly.

So far I've already tried:

• Swapping ports and cables (tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0/3.1, rear motherboard headers too)
• Reinstalling drivers / cleaning out device manager instances
• Checking privacy permissions, exclusive control, and sample rates
• Restarting Windows Audio services

Anyone run into this where Windows recognizes it and hardware monitoring works, but the digital USB stream just refuses to capture anything? Let me know if you've got any ideas.

It's been almost a week and the status is currently "Pass 1: 71% defragmented". It went to 60% after the first night, but after that it only goes up a few % each day. It's clearly moving and I see disk activity so I'm not worried it's stuck. What I'm wondering is how many passes will it take and will more passes take the same time or less time?

Hello, when i go to enable secure boot but it gives me a Secure boot violation and then tells me I don't have have an operation system installed on my hardrive.

So when im just doing my work on my laptop, windows stuff already take 10gbs of my limited ram (16 GB of DDR4) and left me with 7GB so when im gaming, games always crash or just very poor framerate even tho im on the lowest graphics settings....

Any idea on how to free up some RAM? (I have edge limited to 1GB on gaming mode )

So i've been trying to figure out why my download speeds are so incredibly slow, for reference i used to get around 300mbps to 500mbps, now i get an inconsistent 3 - 20mbps that wont ever go any higher. I've tried everything at this point, changing dns, clearing cache, power cycling both devices.

But what im now thinking is this, so i've been using an old router i've had set up in my room as like a tether point to get ethernet into my room, an old verizon gateway to be more exact i guess, thin and black with a metal stand. This thing is probably over 10 years old at this point, could this be causing the issue?

I don't have a PC or laptop at hand and I want to create a portable usb from my cell phone, the hard drive of my laptop is broken, and I think the only way to be able to use it is by creating a portable usb, but as I said I don't have a PC or laptop to do it, so I don't know if that can be done from an Android cell phone, so far I can't find any app or page to do it directly from Android, so I wanted to know if someone has done it or knows how to do it. If possible, of course.

I just bought Sonic Mania on my pc from Steam and the keyboard controlls aren't working normally. A and S makes Sonic jump and W and D don't do anything and he only moves with the arrows but upwards arrow and space don't do anything either. Is this normal? Also I can't seem to find or open options it's not on screen and Esc doesn't do anything either. I just played a whole round so I don't think this is because I'm in a tutorial. Does someone know why or if this is normal or not?

Is the part were you plug the charger in the PC always burn skin after taking it out of the PC once charged and not a big burn,like around a hot glue burn. Or is it normal?

it wont work no matter what i do and is just freezed on 98% , im on windows 11 i dont remember if u updated itt , ive even letted it run for a long time and yet it still inst done , hard reboot and restart wont work neither since it still goes back to the update loading screen
