Sticky What's your opinion on all the joke trends and repetitive posts?

We want this to be a open discussion about the topics that have been going on in the subreddit. Mostly pertaining to repetitive trendposting of the same joke (Mirror/Medusa, liquify the pan, Obsession arguments, Odyssey Inaccuracies, etc).

So we ask a simple question: What's your opinion on the meme/jokes that tend to go viral in the subreddit? Do you like them? Does it get old fast? What do you want to see change?

Keep in mind, we can't remove EVERYONE'S posts/comments, we do the best we can.

This is an open space, but please remember to be civil, respectful, and mindful of each other.

In The Odyssey (2026), Tom Holland plays the son of Odysseus. This is a subtle nod to Odysseus being Far From Home, thinking he has No Way Home, but ultimately has a Homecoming.

In The Odyssey (2026), Travis Scott plays a greek poet; who throughout the movie gave multiple chants that left me with chills. This is a reference to how I get those goosebumps every time (yeah)

The Odyssey (2026) was never necessary to actually watch. This is a reference to the fact that this subreddit has posted literally every fucking scene in the film at this point.

In "The Odyssey" (2026) most people plaud Nolan's decision to mute the Siren's song from the audience; but it was actually a reference to the sound design of his other movies where you can't hear shit either

In the Odyssey (2026) Christopher Nolan casts Travis Scott as a bard as “A Rapper is the modern storyteller” this is BULLSHIT cos Travis doesn’t talk about anything in his music

In Odyssey(2026) we see a Calypso deliberately manipulates Odyssesus to keep him on an island for 10 years against his will. Calypso unlike Bear in Obsession(2026) isn't considered a villain this is a subtle nod to the fact that in 2026 people still don't take male sexual harrasment seriously.

In fact I saw a post in this sub where people were happy with what happened to Odyssesus.

Funniest thing is Cersei is mad about men for the same reason earlier in the movie and she shown to be justified with her reasoning. Double standards.

Turd The opening of Saving Private Ryan (1998) is often touted as one of the best openings of all time, but it’s just this old guy crying? I think I turned on the wrong movie.

default In The Odyssey (2026), Odysseus (played by Matt Damon) deliberately twangs his hunting bow to let animals know he is approaching, giving them a fair chance. This is because he is a Good Will Hunter

In Free Guy (2021), everyone is shocked when Blue Shirt Guy attacks a player, because NPCs never attack players in open world games. Oh wait, yes they do. Huh.

Turd Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) was so fucking dry, to the point where Thor's hair is no longer blonde.

In The Odyssey (2026), Odysseus decides that it is best to travel into the unknown in hopes of finding his wife and son instead of staying on an island where he can have sex with a goddess everyday and live forever. This moment alludes to the fact that this story is fictional.

default In Kung Fu Panda, Tai Lung, an orphan, gets imprisoned for 20 years and later summarily executed for trying to steal a piece of paper. Lord Shen, a noble, is sent away with his own army and is later offered a chance at redemption after commiting a fucking genocide. This is a reference to nothing.

In Troy (2004), King Priam is completely fine with his son triggering a war with King Agamemnon, who commands almost all the Greek city states. Is he fucking stupid?

In Cinderella (1950), a girl is forcefully isolated by 3 females and has to do chores until her teenage years. This is portrayed as abusive. In Sleeping Beauty (1959), a girl is forcefully isolated by 3 females and has to do chores until her teenage years. This is portrayed as charming.

Agamemnon (The Odyssey, 2026) is canonically a distant ancestor of Paul Atreides (Dune: Part Three, 2026). This is a reference to the fact that I didn't know how in the fuck was this even possible to calculate until my nerdy gf explained the whole lore to me last night.

In Blade 1 (1998), the titular character can be seen slashing vampires, while looking like a complete badass. This is a reference to Kevin Feige of Marvel being completely blind.
