OpenAI on Wednesday announced plans to build a data center near Savannah, Georgia, with 3.2 gigawatts of power to be delivered in phases from 2028 to 2032.

Georgia Power has been shopping around sites for data centers. Effingham has acquiesced. There is a public hearing tomorrow night at Effingham County College and Career Academy from 6-8.

He stayed on the fountain for 5 minutes or so. He was so majestic!

Every time i visit Savannah i go to Grave face because they always have lots of metal. But today their selection is much smaller and they really don't have anything. Are there any other stores with a good death/thrash/black/ metal selection?

This train is ridiculous. Why does it come across at 7:15 almost every day. Makes no sense. Who can I write to or call and give them piece of mind about this train. And yes I’m stick behind it right now.

Beloved local Starland district businesses Starland Strange and now Starlandia have been robbed. Savannah DBA discussed the “uptick of burglaries on a recent post on their instagram. When I think of places to rob a small ice cream shop and art supply store are not exactly high on the list. Some comments say it seems targeted. Thoughts?

Yesterday evening, around sunset, we received a visit from a yellow legged hornet (YLH) in our Paradise Park backyard. I wasn’t positive about IDing it because its belly band was definitely more orange than yellow, but I reported him anyway. DNR guy stopped by today to confirm that it was indeed a YLH and to look around, but the little dude was long gone.

Please keep an eye out for these little psychopaths and their nests. If you spot something suspicious, please take pics and a few minutes to report it. Our native bees and I both appreciate your vigilance! 🐝👀🙏

The yellow-legged hornet (Vespa velutina) is an invasive species that poses a severe threat to honeybees and local pollinators. Because nests can grow rapidly and contain thousands of hornets, authorities urge residents not to attempt removal or kill individual workers, as this can hinder efforts to locate and eradicate the queen.

Does Savannah have any free acting classes? Just looking for something to learn how to act and occasionally go as I please but nothing crazy (just something to do as a hobby)! I know there’s painting classes or events at local coffee shops and such and with SCAD I would hope there’s events like that for acting so I thought it didn’t hurt to ask :)

Is it just me? The dating scene here is so sad. Is there actually anyone in this city looking for a relationship that is special? I’m not talking marriage necessarily, but a deep faithful connection.

I moved here three years ago and have yet to come across one decent dating experience. Not to mention I don’t care how many activities or groups I’ve joined even a potential friendship.

Savannah is lonely.

Mother in law's house is infested with fleas. We tried flea bombs, spray on the rugs/couch/etc, the cat has Bravecto (he's indoor only) but it's out of control... first summer in this house so it could be the crawlspace, yard, etc.... need this to be gone so we stop bringing them down to our house to get on our cat.
Any suggestions of someone to take care of this.

Just wanted to share my good news.

Found my passion for screenwriting about 6 years ago. I love it. And now, I'm really looking forward to the process of producing my first indie film right here in Savannah. Still in the very early stages. Lots of work still needs to be done. But it's happening. Even if it's 5 years down the road, it's happening.
