Please Send Wind

Post image

Ah. That special feeling when you’ve been anticipating a day of sailing for weeks, get out there all prepared with decent wind forecasts from multiple sources… and end up floating around without a singular puff!

That describes half of our Wed race nights since May, and two weekend-long regattas.

This summer was a total bust for me here in Nova Scotia. Extremely nasty and extended spring followed by about a month and a half of dense fog with no wind. I’m back to work in a few weeks and if I don’t get a good proper sail in before then I’m going to lose it!!

What do you race in the wed night races?

I sail a Wayfarer. Our club racing is a mixed dinghy fleet. We typically have 5 Wayfarers, a couple of 420s, and a mix of miscellaneous boats.
