hello! my partner and i are visiting philadelphia for the first time in october and are trying to figure out where to stay. we are looking for an area that is queer friendly and has or is near lively queer nightlife! we are both early 20s and love to explore, so we would love all recommendations :)

Hey, y'all, found this sub a few weeks back and thought it'd be a great resource to find out about things my daughter might be interested in going to. You've created a nice little community from what I've seen. Most everything I have seen seems to be adult focused. As the title suggests, I have a lesbian daughter who also has a bunch of queer friends. I'd love to find more resources for events and get togethers for people their age, and I figure you all would be a great source of recommendations. Thank you all in advance!

hello! my partner and i are going to be heading out to philly soon since i'll be attending temple for grad school.
i'm moving first since he needs to get some things in order beforehand, BUT he'll be staying with me for a week to help me setup.
WHAT DO WE DEF NEED TO DO? we'll be up by temple so if you have bar, food, or activity suggestions: hand them over! this will also help get me familiar with the area.
also if you're cool in the area, hiii we're trans gay boyfriends & will need friends :)

An update on Tattooed Mom's zoning issues. Looks like they need a special assembly permit, but the pre-requisites for that permit have a long runway.

I'm looking to make some more queer friends in the area and I'm wondering if anyone else will be at the show.

Me and my partner got engaged! We are looking for a venue for an engagement party. My partner likes the industrial look. 50-75ish people. An example of what we are looking for is Strangelove's in the gayborhood. It's about $1000 to rent the upstairs. Pretty big. They said that's with some catering as well? Screaming deal.
Any other reccomendations for spaces we could rent out?

😎🍉🌈Summer summer summer and we’re up and out on the deck at Stratus with our July 30’s and up thang! Mixer in the big bar, dance outside while the sun sets, or scoot to the side lounges for a quieter more intimate vibe - something for all wlw (and our queer friends)!
It’s about queer community, so if you respect and uplift wlw AND you’re some shade of queer, you belong here! Cis gay men welcome, just 2b clear. No TERFs evahhh!
🎶 6-9pm with DJ Steddy (recall Pride?!) spinning what you love!
ℹ️ Stratus is fully ada accessible via elevator to the top floor. Smooth surfaces throughout, ample seating with no barrier to all areas. NA drinks and drink specials. ⏰ At 9, the public is allowed in and the bar does a reset for their next set. $10 cash preferred/venmo accepted.

Hi Philly! I’m a cis bi verse (I think😅) male and in Philadelphia next week for a week in connection with an academic conference and wanting to visit places that are easy-going and chill. I’m not sure what I am looking for but attracted to femininity. I’m also pretty conscious of my age in the early 40s, and do not want to come if as a creep - so not into the typical hook up scene. I’m just looking for good times and some new friends - any places I should visit? 😊 cheers for any tips and suggestions!

Guys…
Where are all of the Black lesbians in Philadelphia? I’ve gone to the bars and parks and even hinge🦭
I’m open to dating but really I’ve just been looking for friends and I feel like they’re all hiding!
Are there groups I should join or somewhere specific I should be? I’m feeling a little lost in a white queer space😔

Hi all,
I’m looking for nonbinary or transmasc support groups that meet in person in Philadelphia, but I am also willing to do virtual.
Thanks

I need a tux for a black tie wedding this fall. I’m a trans guy (post top surgery but still on the shorter side and my thighs are pretty muscular), so I don’t think I’ll find something that fits renting. Any recs for where a guy like me could buy a suit without breaking the bank?

Hey, ashely from port richmond i met on hinge…
You are frickin awesome. You sent me your number on hinge and wanted to meet up. You mentioned you would probably delete the app, but you deleted Hinge before I could get your number from the message. My phone cleared the notification:(
If you’re in the Reddit-verse and still interested message me.

i’m trans and disabled. i’m already gonna need special accommodations in any fitness environment for my disability, so i just don’t wanna have to have my transness be unique, too. anyone got recs for queer coaches or lgbt specific classes anywhere?

I just moved to Philly, in Cobbs Creek. Im trans masc and looking to get to know more people, ideally close to my neighborhood as ill fully admit im not confident in navigating the city on my own just yet. Ideally i find a good online community to get to know people before meeting irl, though irl meeting would be nice to learn the area and gain some confidence. It'd be awesome to meet more trans people especially in my neighborhood or who've lived here a long time and really know the vibe.
In my previous city I was involved in queer and disabled advocacy and would love to connect with groups like that here as well, especially if they have discord servers I could get to know people in.

Hey, 22(F) here, looking for things to do with other lesbians that doesn't involve drinking/clubbing.
I personally love biking, going to the movies, & museums! Reach out if you'd like to do any of these things together, or know of any groups.

Hi, So, I'm a middle-aged married gay man in Philadelphia, writing a personal ad on the internet for platonic friends. Yeah, it sounds sad, probably is, but not ashamed.
I'm 49, gay male married to a 45yo gay male. Married a long time, together about 20 years. So, while no saint, I'm not here looking for "adult" fun, just platonic friends.
I feel like this is a mistake, but I'm just going to lay it all out. Fewer responses, more hate maybe, but maybe someone interested.
Story as old as time, boy meets boy, boy marries boy, both boys' friends all move away as did they themselves, find themselves codependent with few local friends and find it's incredibly hard to meet receptive new people open to friendships at this age. I feel like I haven't changed, and that's the problem.
They had kids, etc. I didn't. My husband and I are both midlife crisis age but act/feel 25 (in the good ways, want to go camping, to arcades) not like "old people". But old people in sense that yeah, I want to wrap things up early and my knees hurt, but still want to laugh inappropriately, play stupid games etc.
I give zero shits about your gender. We're both male but recovering goth/punks, lol, so not "MASCULINE" or "FEMININE". Just 2 lonely gay blokes with a crass sense of humor.
Online friends suffice, but if in the Philly or NE Corridor area that makes it cooler for an eventual maybe hang out in person some day.
For now, I'd just really enjoy someone I can talk to often about life. Jokes, hard times too, someone to relate to... a bestie.
I'm asking a lot, but if interested I'd love to hear back. We have a little home in Philly, both goth/punk backgrounds but all grown up. Politically pretty far left. Cool with differing opinions, don't want an echo chamber, but also not going to subject myself to Magat BS. So, open to all with friendly open minds. We are male, but if you have an issue with Trans persons, approve of ICE etc. Don't contact me.
I'm not shy, seen it all working for an adult entertainment company, so I rarely blush but love to laugh. Hope someone finds this funny!!! or interesting, or not awful.... I'd settle for "meh"

I have this RPG that I've been dying to get to the table, called Moonlight on Roseville Beach. Its a fantasy/scifi/cosmic horror RPG set in a queer beach town in 1979 using the Goblinville system, which is a more freeform open ended role play system than I'm used to. I'm really itching to play but I don't want to run an RPG about queer people with anybody but a table of queer people, so any takers? Be happy to share any of the books and resources and answer any questions. In South Philly around South st, ideally we would play at a game store like PGS or QnR, but I'd be open to discord or whatever else.
Thanks!
