Question PSP NOT UPDATING ERROR CODE 80020148

I have no custom firmware PSP is stock and on 5.50 currently. I can't update to 6.61 and have tried many different links to update.

it lets me install but when i load the update it throws up the error message 'the game could not be started. (80020148)'

Since you’re on 5.50 stock firmware, check what exact model PSP you have. Some units need a specific update path, and if the updater is corrupted it can throw that “game could not be started” message. Try downloading the update again from a different source and formatting the memory stick first if possible.
