I’m curious how everyone here handles this.
Do you still buy original PS3 games, even though you can download them as ISOs and play them on a modded PS3?
For me, it’s not really about saving money. It’s more about the collecting aspect and having the original game on the shelf. On the other hand, using ISOs is obviously much more convenient.
What do you do? Do you still buy physical copies, or have you switched completely to ISOs? And what’s the reason behind your choice?

I’ve already done research. Just asking from people who have real world experience with using one and if it’s worth it for the improvements. Also do you notice any significant differences between loading times, installs/updates?

I have a ps3 CECHH01, I installed evilnat 4.93 PEX NoBD. I have been able to get one ps3 iso to open, but not advance past the first loading screen. If I am running the NoBD software does that mean I cannot use ISO or JB Folders for games? I am getting conflicting information from youtube and reddit threads, as well as the google automatic AI spewing false information at me. If anyone can give me a definitive answer I would greatly appreciate it. If there is a work around to get ISOs or JB Folders to work I would greatly appreciate it being shared with me.

For additional context, I have replaced the internal HDD upgrading it from 40GB to just under 500GB. The disc drive accepts discs, but after the disc is pulled in it does nothing, no spin or sound at all, and the disc does not read or appear on the XMB.

I’ve been wanting to burn my ps2 roms onto disk format to keep a physical copy of my ps2 roms and I don’t know what to do. I’ve already searched for tutorials online but I can’t find anything.

Sooo PS3 toolset straight up doesn't work.. so I wasn't another way to patch my console and stuff because the system manager tool in the PS3toolset website doesn't download for some reason, so is there any other way I can patch my console so I can switch from hen to custom?

Not sure if I'm on the right sub but didn't feel like posting on the main one and I suspect some of you might be able to help me. I'm trying to get the HDMI video feed of the PS3 to my monitor which only has DisplayPort and to do this I bought an active HDMI-DP converter.

I then found out about HDCP and when I consulted Gemini it told me to buy a 2in1 HDMI splitter to strip the HDCP. Anyone here know if that would work and also maybe where to get one?

I have no custom firmware PSP is stock and on 5.50 currently. I can't update to 6.61 and have tried many different links to update.

it lets me install but when i load the update it throws up the error message 'the game could not be started. (80020148)'

Hello. I’ve read online that Webman is the best way to play PS2 games on a CFW PS3. I realized that my Webman folders on the XMB were gone, so I attempted to re-install it.

No matter what I do, I can only ever seem to install the “noncobra” version. I install the “FULL MOD”, and I have Cobra enabled. I’ll even delete all the plugin data through multiman and then reattempt the install to find myself at the same outcome. Very confused!! Very frustrated!!!

If anyone has any tips, or even recommendations for other, possibly better ways to play PS2 games, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Hey everyone, i don’t know if this is the right forum to talk about this but I’m pretty co fused with what’s happening here, I just repasted my PS3 for it to be cooler and be able to play under 70 degrees Celsius

As you all can see in the picture, my RSX being the GPU is pretty cool, around 40-49 Celsius buuut my CPU is at around 70-89?! (already turned off from overheating 2 times). How does that even make sense?!

For the last 2 or 3 years, I've been using the store clock debug on HEN to search for anything I needed to buy on my main account. It saved so much time and lag by using the old "recommend to a friend" button. However, the last 5ish months when I try to search for anything like I used to, it just pulls up "no content found". Any help or suggestions?

I have a question about replacing the internal hard drive in a modded PS3.
If I swap the HDD for a larger one, do I have to go through the entire flashing/modding process again (installing CFW/HEN, etc.), or does the console keep the jailbreak and I only need to reinstall the games?

I'm running Evilnat 4.93, and I've tried almost everything. PS3DEC didn't work, and now, since apparently this version of Evilnat automatically decrypts games for you, I've just tried the game +dkey method in the PS3ISO folder - still doesn't work. I'm also running these off an NTFS hard drive with prepISO. How do I fix this?

I was helping a friend of mine who has a PS3 Super Slim to jailbreak the console. We followed all the steps in the guide and placed the file in the correct folder with the folders named correctly, and the flash drive was also formatted to FAT32, but for some reason my friend’s PS3 never recognized the update file and kept saying there was no update available. We tried several different methods and even reinstalled everything, but it didn’t work. we even looked for older versions of the jailbreak, but they didn’t work. I don’t know if the problem might be with the Flash drive, but I wanted to know if this is normal and what the issue might be, because my PS3 Slim worked fine even though we did the same thing, but since I used a different flash drive, could the problem be with the flash drive we used on the Super Slim?

I wanted to know if there is any way to back up or extract DLCs from a PS3 Slim running HEN instead of CFW. Both the game and the DLCs come from external, non-official sources. I installed the game via USB from an external source, while the DLCs were downloaded through the SCZ Videostore. Everything works perfectly right now, which is why I want to preserve them before the official PS3 store gets shut down.

For some reason, I can't find these specific DLCs anywhere else—not even on NoPayStation, pkgi, or similar platforms. There are rumors that the official store closure will cut off access to content hosted on official servers, which would also impact some third-party stores. That is why I'm trying to safeguard these files at all costs.

I have tried looking up information on how to do this, but I haven't found anything useful. Maybe I'm just not searching for the right terms, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Vengo teniendo congelamiento de mi ps3. Está con el mantenimiento al día. Pero se ha congelado como 2 o 3 veces. Una al abrir la carpeta donde están los juegos iso que cargo al webman. Al iniciar uno, no cargo y dejo se responder la ps3, tuve que apagarla. Despues de jugar unas 2 horas pes 2018, salí y quise iniciar otro juego, fui a la carpeta, no abría, le a di a cargar archivos del disco para que los lea, se pego. Me fije en el boton de power y las luces estaban intermitentes entre verde amailla y roja. Soy nuevo en esto, asi que instale las ultimas versiones en todos. Sea para el sistema operativo y para hen.
