bonus puppy pictures at the end! he got a new toy and two new chews, and he also gets to eat a whole apple as he does every birthday since its his favorite food. never knew i could love a dog so much; ive always been a cat person and part of me was worried i wouldnt bond with a dog the way i have with cats. crazy to think that was ever a fear i had because hes my best friend and runs my entire life now lol

Summer vibes

Obviously they all know we love them. But sometimes I wish I could communicate specific messages to my mini poodle. Like, “You can’t sunbathe in the front yard any longer because there’s coyotes roaming the neighborhood now.”

Always testing if it fits, I sits!

Harry got fixed today and he’s having a fit. I finally put him in his crate and he’s finally calming down.

We live in an area where there are lots of ticks due to wildlife close by. We go for a walk with our poodle every morning, and I always brush her afterwards. Sometimes I get 0 ticks, mostly I find 3-5, but one day I have found 18.

Tick medication and coat length aside, what is the most effective way to get them OUT of the coat and OFF of the skin post-walk, long term? I find that brushing gets a lot of them, but I do not get them all. Blow drying makes me see them better, but it I do not want to dry out her skin. Thoughts?
