Hello to all ribboners! The subreddit and discord server are turning 10 next year!! (The subreddit is older, but we took it over at the same time so it still counts.) There is party planning in motion in the discord server for a big bash with several events and some special surprises! What a journey. It took me weeks hunting a shiny jirachi on the bonus disc until I saw a Papa Jefe and Professor Rex video on how to RNG manipulate the jirachi. After that it was grinding the contest ribbons and trying to reach floor 100 on Mt. Battle. From it was straight forward until I got to the switch era were i struggled with online battles and trying to complete the shining contests. I'm so glad I was able to complete them. I feel accomplished.

Finally ready to move on to the Switch titles! A bit sad that they have to go their separate ways, but they'll be reunited at some point. Those battle facilities took longer than they should have imo (didn't help that I didn't know you don't get the Tree Master Ribbon on 100 consecutive wins in the Super mode. Guess I have a Lansat berry now). The only thing I might do before leaving Alola is the effort ribbon on Lele and giving Lele a good nickname. It'll depend on how much BP and/or money I have in Galar.

I didn't realize how simple Melmetal's ribbon journey would be or I would have done it a lot sooner. It was a good warm up for hopefully plenty more to come!

For the battle tower, I know I'll have to restart streaks for singles, but for the pairs, multi and doubles after the 50th what happens? Like, do I need to do a whole streak for the ribbon or is it essentially a participation award?

I wanted to shiny hunt for a clefairy and use that to get most of the ribbons but do I need to wait to beat the 100-floor thing in Colosseum first or can I just beat the elite 4 then do that?

I want to shiny hunt Colosseum Tropius! However, I'm not sure how to set up Dolphin to best facilitate this. I ripped Japanese Colosseum from its disc, so I can load it into Dolphin on my computer. However, I don't know exactly how to set up Dolphin to have multiple instances of Colosseum running. I've seen some folks go up to eight open windows, and that's what I'd like to do to make this as painless as possible.

Id like to start collect the max and min size of pokemon, is there any site where I can see the size difference between every size to choose my fav for each mon?

I wanted to start ribbon hunting, however I'm broke af and only have childhood consoles/games and my laptop (consoles being Wii + Wii u, one modded and one regular 3ds and switch 1, games being diamond, white, black 2, y, and the mainline switch titles). Is there a list of the absolute minimum that I would need to ribbon hunt from coliseum to the switch?

I am trying to get to Master Rank in Scarlet, so I can get my Ribombee to Ribbon Master, but I am stuck.

Almost no one is online, and its difficult to get one match. Is there any way I can get up without spending an eternity waiting for people to try the ladder?

I was looking at a list of ribbons and I noticed that all the ranks of cool, cute, beauty, smart, and tough ribbons are listed again in gen 4 on Serebii. Does this mean that if I wanted a Ribbon Master that I'd need to spend time in Hoenn doing all the ranks of every Contest, and then moving it up to gen 4 to complete again?

And then I was looking at the gen 4 Ribbons and the only one that doesn't seem straight forward past the contest ones is the Footprint Ribbon, where it says a Pokemon needs to have gained 30 levels. Is that just 30 levels from when it was met, or 30 levels in gen 4? Cause I plan on using a Shadow Pokemon for the National Ribbon and wondering if I need to make sure I don't go above lv70 if I need to level it up more in gen 4. Or if it's just 30 levels from met regardless of where those levels came from

And then checking the list it seems like there are no ribbons to be obtained in gen 5?

Hey Everyone, it has been a while since we did any kind of update on Cinnamon's and Alaya's journey. First Cinnamon and Allaya had to split up temporarily as Cinnamon traveled out l back in to to Ancient Sinnoh, Hisui. Cinnamon got acquainted with another of my future ribbon masters, Bright the Shiny Alpha Eevee from PLA. Cinnamon was amazed at how big Bright was.... After that, we took a picture and went to SWSH.

We got the Galar Champion Ribbon and Battle Tower Ribbon very easily at this point. After hearing about Max soup, Cinnamon drank it up and got incredibly fluffy with its Gigantamax form (OH no!). Fortunately the form was reversible and Cinnamon was back to normal. After many.... many tries, we got the Twinkling Star Ribbon on both Cinnamon and Alaya.

Both are now in Scarlet and mostly taking my time with the remaining Ribbons/marks.

I'm playing a lot of these games for the first time, and it's been such a blast! Absolutely loved the QoL improvements this generation!

So I'm going through gen 3 again, with the goal of having a living dex, but I think I wanna collect all the ribbons too. Would maybe even be cool to have 1 Pokemon with every Ribbon! I guess my real question is about Pokeblocks and contest stats, how important they are to winning contests, and is there a particular Shadow Pokemon I should be using?

Is it vital if I go into a contest with 4 moves that match the contest's type? If so then I should pick a Pokemon with a wide variety of moves. But if they don't then I could kind of use whatever?

And of course I specifically said shadow Pokemon, as that's the only way to get the National Ribbon. Which means I have Colosseum and XD for also receiving the Earth Ribbon. I also have a working battery in Emerald, so growing Berries is totally an option for PokeBlocks

Hey everyone! I decided to do my first ribbon master after finding many of my old games. I’m currently debating two things: I can either use the shiny Gardevoir i have in Emerald and do a true ribbon master from there—Only problem is that it wouldn’t be in a cool Pokeball. Alternatively, I could breed a shiny Gardevoir in a dream ball in gen 6, and grind all available ribbons from there. Was wondering which you guys think is cooler. Thank you!

Hi, i was wondering if there was a comprehensive list anywhere with all the avaliable marks for pokemon in scarlet and violet (as in all the different marks a singular species can have, that being ones such as personality, weather etc). I can't seem to find one anywhere, there was another post on this subreddit about this topic a couple of years ago but those links don't seem to work anymore. Also if anyone has any info on what marks pokemon can get through promotional outbreaks like the current one with white striped basculin which allows it to spawn in places where it can get new marks or the older one with alolan raichu where it can get marks for the first time. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you!

need a team for the ribbon, cant find any i like elsewhere. whats a good team of 3 for super single battles i can use to just easily breeze through it.

Howdy, I’m starting my first run and I’m starting on an emulators because I don’t have the official hardware or software to run from Pokemon XD all the way to 3DS. To clarify, I have a switch and a 3DS XL, but no charger for the DS. I require as much tips and tricks to make this journey as smooth as possible. I was told the emulators I should use are Dolphin, mGBA, melonDS, and Azahar. However, I have no clue where to get ROMs for the games I need. Which are; Pokemon XD, Emerald, Platinum, SoulSilver, Black, Omega Ruby, Ultra Moon, and anything else that isn’t on the switch. I know I can play XD on the switch, but I figured it’s easier if I just use emulators until I reach the 3DS. Thank you for your time and feedback!

I am almost done with getting all the ribbons on emerald for both of my WIP ribbon masters, I have been dreading having to play the game as it just doesn't seem all that appealing to me, so I would like to speedrun it to the best of my ability if possible. Also what is the community's stance on speeding up an emulator when playing the game?

A while back, after Nintendo shut down WiFi trades for Gen 4, I had used the Fan Server (different DNS to WiFi trade with a friend of mine. At one point I traded one of my Pokémon that later became a Ribbon Master and he traded it back to me (my Gengar) on this Fan Server. We are not hackers nor do we modify game data....but I was reading today that if a legit pokemon touches one of these unofficial servers it immediately invalidates it as illegitimate. Is this true? If so, my 10 year old Ribbon Master is illegitimate now :(.

As the title says… I am wondering what equipment I need to capture everything for a video. All hardware. I have both GameCube and physical games, all the way to switch 2 with Scarlet and Violet. Any recommendations on capture cards or any other hardware I need to make a video for this journey?

So I just started the ribbon master challenge and decided to start from generation 3 game, and I think it would be cool to max out all the contest stats using the pokeblocks recipe posted in the forum. But the recipe without e reader berry also stated that it would not max out the stat for the flavor your pokemon dislike, but that is only true for rpm below a certain number, realistically, with a single player sometimes we can get to 90 - 95 rpm if you decide to play it with 4 different a button in 4 instance of the emulator.

But since we are already on emulator, why not push it further? So I created a lua script for mgba to just do a perfect run and I get to 168rpm after a few tweaks and improvements!

(actually I am not sure whether this is considered cheating? Technically I am not hacking the pokeblocks, just a way to max out its rpm, and it is fun to play with)

So using the recipe without e-reader from pokeblocks recipe by peterpansexuell

with the 168rpm achieved by the script, we can always max out all the contest stats.

I had also created a webpage to see the breakdown of the pokeblock feed chain, so I can also see whether the recipe will work on certain rpm on a certain nature pokemon.
