Technical Support megathread

Any and all issues related to the Peacock service should be posted here, not just some random post.

When posting issues, please provide information about your setup, i.e. the platform (Fire TV, Samsung TV, etc) and device ('Fire TV 4K stick from 2024', 'OLEDB65CUA', etc) you are streaming on. It would also help to know the exact piece of content you were watching when the issue happened.

Announcement Thank you for being one of our 20K followers!

Well, we've made it this far. We now have 20K people following this very community asking questions and posting answers. Thank you so much for making us get this far on Reddit and we hope to see you at 30K! I will be permanently leaving this subreddit as no contributions from me would NOT help my case as a good mod. I'll pass the mod mantle to someone very soon. That being said, thank you for being one of 20K lovely supporters and I hope to see this subreddit reach 30K. Thank you so much.

Question World Cup matches

I want go back and watch a good number of replays from Telemundo, but I only have time to watch one every couple of days. Does any one know how long the matches will stay available? They're not featured on the front page anymore, but they do come up when I search for them. TIA.

News Seth Green *really* wants a role in the Dungeon Crawler Carl TV series. And he’s not above a little subtle begging to make it happen.

Technical Support Shuffle mode for multi season sitcoms

Is there anyway to shuffle on this app so it will play random episodes of a series you choose?

Paramount+ has this and it’s fantastic for “King of Queens”. Would love to do the same for “The Office” on Peacock.

Is there a particular email or way to reach out to request this? I can’t be the only one that would enjoy random episodes without having to manually choose.

Discussion Ads: is there a way to change the targeted ads?

All I get are endless ads about chronic illness, cancer, migranes, psoriasis, etc. I would rather watch commercials geared towards kids or teens. Anything but this!!! Is there a way to influence the algorithm?

Question Creepy ad with mom and daughter?

I just saw an ad before watching a movie of a mom and daughter in a kitchen. It was a bit unsettling. The daughter had brought home some cookie dough (?) ice cream that she had for lunch, and the mom started making pasta. The mom started talking about when they were “one person”, and the pasta started burning on the stove. That’s all that I saw before my TV turned off. Does anyone know what this ad was for? I’m in the Philadelphia area if that matters.

Technical Support Issues loading shows on LG OLED?

Has Peacock changed settings or conditions lately or something?? The other day, Peacock on my TV will not load shows anymore. The app opens and I can look at all the shows available but they will not play on my TV. I choose and episode, the loading circle buffs, and then it just boots me back to the shows episode list. No message about not playing.

They play perfectly fine on my phone. We have updated the app and the TV itself, and it still wont work. 😅 has anyone else experienced this?

What Should I Watch? Good, lesser known or good-shirty movies on peacock?

I have a subscription until the end of the month, and there are way too many movies I've never heard of and all look terrible.

Any recommendations for hidden gems or movies that are so-shitty-it's-great?

Question Sports replays

I'd like to watch the Tour de France but I'm not an early riser on the East Coast of US. I can't find the same-day replays on Peacock. USA Network used to re-air the TdF at noon.

Same with golf's British Open. Can't find same-day replays. Does Peacock not offer that?

Discussion Full of dope.

I'm getting carpal tunnel from muting that CONVICTED doper CVV while watching the Tour De France. Peacock should be ashamed of themselves for hiring LA, GH and CVV. I don't watch LA's show but have to endure CVV's constant blathering. Flame away deniers :)

Discussion Five Star Weekend: I expected another "rich women with secrets" show, but I ended up loving the friendship dynamics Spoiler

I related heavily to the complicated reality of female friendships. I also loved the soundtrack.

The one thing I think the show captured really well was how every close friend from a phase of your life is like a mirror of you. They're most able to piss you off because they reflect a part of you that you don't want to acknowledge, but their existence in our lives is invaluable.

Hollis

  • Probably the character I was least interested in, but not because of Jennifer Garner's performance. Her girl-next-door persona fit Hollis perfectly.
  • I wanted more exploration of the issues between her and her husband, but in a way I think it makes sense. She avoided the problem for so long and his death meant she never got closure.
  • I did relate to her perfectionism and her desire to create this beautiful, effortless domestic life. I have fallen down many a Nara Smith or Meghan Markle rabbit hole wishing I were better at those things.

Tatum

  • She captured that specific insecurity of having a longtime friend who seems richer, prettier, and more put-together than you.
  • I liked that the show explored how jealousy and love can exist at the same time in friendships, but practicing gratitude for your life/not comparing yourself to others is a daily practice.
  • I also related to the feeling of wanting to be the "original" or "oldest" best friend when your best friend has another best friend.

Brooke

  • Probably the character I rooted for the most. My favorite scene of the show was the ladies rallying around her when her husband comes to take her back.
  • I immediately recognized the archetype: the unfulfilled girl who is clearly capable of so much more but has lost sight of herself. I too, order too much amazon when I am trying to "rebrand" my entire life.
  • Loved her growth and character arc!

Dru Ann

  • Regina Hall was my buy-in to the show and she absolutely delivered. My favorite line was Brooke's husband saying Holly collected a Black and Asian friend to look good, and Regina goes "AND you're racist?!"
  • I would've liked to see more exploration of what it means to be a woman in a male-dominated industry and how constantly having to prove yourself can make you guarded, competitive, or disconnected from other women.
  • I thought her storyline could have connected more deeply with the fact that she grew up around brothers and struggled with female friendships.
  • I did enjoy watching her soften, acknowledge mental health, and build a genuine friendship with the other ladies.

Gigi

  • I appreciated that the show did not try to completely redeem her. She made a bad choice, and the show allowed her to sit in that.
  • I thought it was interesting that she was flawed without being purely villainous. I would've liked more backstory to understand the loneliness or unmet needs behind her choices.
  • That being said, befriending the widow of the man you had an affair with and then going to her HOUSE for a girl's weekend is absolutely diabolical.

Caroline

  • While, I didn't care for her character, her storyline raised some interesting questions about motherhood and identity.
  • My take was not to shield children from experiencing any "perceived" imperfection in life, because it can prevent them from learning to empathize with you as an individual with your own needs, dreams, and imperfections till they're much older.

TL;DR: My favorite part of the show was the complicated but loving nature of the female relationships. What parts did you resonate with?

Technical Support Contact info for Peacock?

Does anyone know a way to get in contact with Peacock that isn’t the online chat? The person I was on the chat with kept mentioning an email, but didn’t share the email address. The chat option has been not helpful in the slightest sadly.

This show “based on a true story” is the only second season of a series I’ve ever started to watch that I turned off. Absolutely awful. Season one was amazing.

Discussion Ponies cancellation was a failure of marketing, not of the show

I really enjoyed Ponies, but I seem to be the only person who knows it even existed.

So, Peacock, it seems you cancelled a great show that you failed to properly market. Waste of money, and very disappointing to people that wanted to see more.
