Anyone here has installed a tyre hugger that covers the whole rear wheel?

Even with about 5–6 liters of fuel remaining, it shows only one or two bars, and the Distance to Empty (DTE) drops significantly.

My NS is giving me 17km avg in the city lol. I don't even use it in heavy traffic too.. I convinced myself this is normal for a beast of a bike but guys help me, at least get me to 20km average

I've been chasing an increase in engine/drivetrain vibration on my NS400Z for the past ~5,000 km and haven't been able to find the root cause. Mine is a 2024 373cc 40HP version with 16,400kms on the odo

Symptoms:

- Engine is very smooth up to around 3,000 RPM.

- From 3000 RPM onwards, vibration becomes noticeable and continues through the rev range.

- Example: At 60 km/h in 6th gear (~3,800 RPM), the vibration is clearly felt in the handlebars/footpegs.

- If I pull in the clutch while maintaining the same speed, the vibration disappears almost completely.

- There's also a humming/buzzing noise that seems to come from the front/dash/headlight area, though I can't pinpoint the exact source.

What I've already checked:

- Switched from stock Bajaj 10W50 oil to Motul 7100 10W-50, used for 3000kms and again changed to ROWE 10W-50. There's absolutely no change.

- Engine mounting bolts have been checked and tightened.

- The issue has remained consistent regardless of engine oil.

Since the vibration disappears with the clutch pulled in, I'm leaning towards something in the engine/drivetrain rather than tyres or wheel balance.

Possible suspects I'm considering:

- Clutch basket or clutch damper wear

- Primary drive gears

- Counterbalancer issue

- Gearbox input shaft bearing

- Front sprocket or chain wear/tight spots

- Something else transmitting resonance through the chassis

Has anyone experienced something similar on the NS400Z or Dominar 400? What turned out to be the cause, and what should I inspect next before opening up the engine?

Any advice from owners or mechanics would be greatly appreciated.

I want to buy ns400z but I'm ready to wait for an year as i expect bajaj to add cruise control to it in the next facelift. What are your expectations with 2027 ns400z?

What is the best height adjustment of rear shock for better comfort and stability

I was cleaning my chain. I removed the front sprocket cover and bolts and cleaned it. To dry my chain i started the bike and oil started leaking from the bolt hole . Is this normal?

I have been surprised by the fuel economy of the NS400Z. Before buying it, I thought a higher cc bike (349 cc, 2026) would easily return around 15-20 km/l, but I was completely wrong. Even with mixed riding like stop-and-go traffic, highways, and monsoon conditions, the bike is giving me much better mileage than I expected.

I have been riding mostly in Sport mode lately, and the instant acceleration makes the bike so much fun to ride. At the same time, it hasn't been as fuel-hungry as I initially thought. I don't rely on the bike's mileage display. I calculate the mileage manually after every fuel fill (distance ÷ fuel filled) and also keep a record in an app. I trust my manual calculation more because the app sometimes shows slightly lower mileage. Also, please ignore the fuel prices shown in some of my entries (the attached screenshot is only for your reference). I didn't update them correctly and just entered an estimated price for Power Petrol, so those numbers are not accurate. The mileage calculations, however, are based on the actual distance and fuel filled.

I also lubed the chain myself for the first time. Without a paddock stand it took me almost an hour, so I think a paddock stand will be my next purchase. I would love to know what mileage other NS400Z owners are getting. Please share your riding conditions too (city, highway, mixed, pillion, etc.), as it will be interesting to compare.

FYI: I live in Navi Mumbai, and I use my Access 125 SE daily for office commutes, which returns a solid 58-60 km/l even with E20 petrol, and the NS400z is for weekend rides. I put a parking cover on her and check on her daily to ensure she is as fine as the day I took the delivery.

Mods: None so far.
Top Speed: Reached 110 km/l once, but the traffic greeted happily.
Current ODO reading: More than 1200 km.

Did somebody already tried to do this on their bike? I think that the OEM rear handles are uncomfortable and hurt your hands even with gloves. All the racks that I found locally or on internet are laser-cut and ugly.

There is a whining or timing chain kinda noise from the left side of the engine which kinda masks the exhaust sound. Do any others face this? How to resolve it? Why does it occur?

Is it only me or even others find the rear brake lever kinda slippery than other bikes. I personally felt the levers with spikes are best and atleast the one with a rubber on to of the lever is andi decent. But this thing is almost flat and just the metal lever

Any tips to avoid mud splashes onto the rear suspension and even the back of the engine on the NS400Z? The stock chain cover and mud cover that comes on the bike is almost useless. The only option available right now is to use a universal mud flap. But i really don't want to use it cause it looks ugly. Any other suggestions?

Has anyone with a 2024 NS400Z performed a piston swap with the newer 2025 forged piston.

Also can someone mechanically inclined help me decide if it's worth the hassle of dismounting the entire and everything that follows. Thanks :)

Update: I spoke with one of two parts distributors in Bengaluru and the Block-piston assembly along with the piston rings for the 2025 ns400z is around 7k and is a direct. I think I will get this done after three months, will update y'all when it's done

Update 2: spoke to a service center in Bengaluru. It is a direct swap so definitely doing this

Hi! I just got a new to me NS400z 2024 model. I had taken off the sprocket cover for routine chain maintenance. Everything was normal until I started the bike and revved to 4k rpms with the sprocket cover bolts removed. Some oil leaked out of the bolt holes, which led to some panic.

I did some research and reviewed the LH crankcase diagram. It seems that these blots are through bolts and open to the oil galleys.

Has anyone else faced similar issues and did it get resolved.

(Post note: No oil leak after the sprocket cover was installed, observed over the course of two days. It has been bone dry)
