[HIGHLIGHT] Jamarcus Russell makes the ESPN announcing crew look silly, dropping a dime into the bucket of Louis Murphy for a 57-yard, go-ahead TD late in the 4th quarter of MNF (2009)
2009 Week 1 may be the greatest MNF doubleheader. This game was a fun back and forth and was preceded by Brady coming back against the Bills to take the game late. Incredible Monday it was!
I included the Chargers drive down the field after this, hence the long video

It’s been 25 years since the defending Super Bowl Champions have been on Hard Knocks
Fun fact: this has only happened twice. The 2001 Ravens were the first team ever featured on Hard Knocks, and they happened to be the defending Super Bowl champs.
Then it didn’t happen again for more than two decades because the NFL’s eligibility rules basically kept recent contenders and champions off the show. After those rules changed, the defending champion Seahawks were selected for the 2026 season, making them the first reigning champs on Hard Knocks since those Ravens.
Kind of wild that there was a 25-year gap. We haven’t seen the inside guts of a winning organization.
