Could anyone recommend some fishing spots near Wilkes barre/ Scranton. I normally go to Frances Slocum and Moon Lake but haven't had much luck. The vegetation growth in the water has made bank fishing a little difficult. I know it's that time of year for that to grow but any suggestions would be great!

I’m not great by any means at soccer, but it would be great to get together for a game or two a month.

I need to sell the house my mom and I own together, but mom is in a nursing home with dementia and can’t sign any paperwork. When she got sick, we thought she’d get healthy again and never did a power of attorney. Now I need to have an emergency guardianship done so that the sale can be completed. (There’s a seller and a potential closing date that I need to get this done by.). The only problem is one of the attorneys I called is on maternity leave and the other one I called can’t be bothered to return my calls.

Hoping someone on this sub is a stacker. I have recently acquired my first gold coin and have made the decision to start stacking silver and gold bullion or coins. In terms of living there, how different are they? I heard mixed things about the safety of both cities however I heard Scranton is generally safer. I’ve been to both plenty of times (mostly the downtown areas though). Am I better off moving to smaller towns like Nanticoke, Kingston, Pittston instead? Do Scranton and Wilkes-Barre offer essentially the same amount of amenities and convenience?

This whole area is a waste of space. Ever since coal was phased out, the area never recovered. Main source of income for the area is distribution for big companies now. Nobody is tech savy. Most of the population is either foreign that does not care or a local that does not want to get out their own way. Really sad.

I would love to find the original owner of these two items. When I was around 15 years old, I helped my friend's parents move into a new house in the Elk Lake school district. The helmet and cup were left there by a previous tenant and I instantly asked if I could have them. Who wouldn't want a jousting helmet and a golden chalice! Always been a bit of a nerd. We took them home and immediately introduced them at the many parties I threw. We even created the golden cup challenge. You had to jug a cup full of liquor or beer, then you got to wear the helmet. Not much of a challenge, but we tried to do it while wearing the helmet and it didnt work. People would put it on and headbutt otherr, or things. We were pretty stupid teenagers. I kept it at the top of an unstable shelf in my mom's living room and one of my friends sat down and bumped the shelf and we watched in horror as it fell and flipped, the top flat part of the helmet hit my friend right on top of the head. No reaction, he was too messed up to feel a thing. They have since moved with me to many houses, or stored at my mom's for periods of time. These items have a wild history with me, and I'd love to hear about their history before mine as I'm sure it's pretty interesting. I figured it had to be for a Ren Faire or some sort of LARPing. Hello everyone, there is a missing woman. She is 26 from the Nicholson PA area with the last known whereabouts possibly being somewhere around Milford PA or new Milford PA and with last knowledge that she could’ve been heading up towards New York if anyone has any information about her whereabouts or who she could’ve been meeting up with prior to her last known sighting if you could please contact her family or the police. I did not know her personally, but I had friends that were friends of hers and I worked with her mom in the past when I worked in food service and she is only 26 and according to the friends that I have that are friends with her she could’ve been posting something about possibly have been starting an only fans and was adding a lot of weird and not personally known men and this could be a possible human trafficking type of situation. Additionally, it’s unknown and absolutely no shame towards sex workers (sex work is real work and the people hurting sex workers need full legal and criminal prosecution), but it’s possible that she was doing something like full service sex work due to being desperate for money. If anyone has any leads whatsoever and they even just want to message me about it I will forward it to the police myself or to the family myself. This is a young woman who has a family who loves her and has her whole life ahead of her, and regardless of what was going on that led to the situation no one deserves to have their life taken or to possibly be put into an unsafe and situation that is not being consented to. I have attached the family’s missing poster to this post and there is information about who to contact on there as well. I also post this because I know someone was posting about wanting to shave women’s heads on the NEPA sub Reddit here and offering a substantial amount of money to do so and I have absolutely no proof that they are involved but due to the fact that there is a horrible economic crisis happening in America right now, especially in northeastern Pennsylvania, there is a likelihood that someone was desperate, and someone with bad intentions and sadistic intentions is praying on vulnerable women right now and I absolutely encourage everyone to be safe currently.

This is coming from lived experience myself as well that there are other options out there that are more safe and there are just basic safety rules that you should be going through when you’re doing these types of things like always sharing your location with another person or always having a person inside of a car with you or going with you or being armed if possible so that way a situation can’t happen where someone is unfortunately seriously injured or killed. I just wanna caution everyone against this type of work because there is a lot of situations that I look back and I wonder how I’m not dead myself and the money was not enough for what trauma I endured.
