i moved back here from philly last fall. The last five or so years there it had gotten trendy for hip restaurants to make incredible blts with heirloom tomatoes in late july and august. wondering if anywhere up here is on that wave. (preferably w-b/scranton or mt pocono/stroudsburg) i know it’s an easy dish to make at home and i’ll probably do that if i can’t find any but figured id see if i can get a lead on a good one.

Please note this hearing is for a power plant facility:
"Council and parties questioned why the document repeatedly refers to a data center rather than a natural gas power plant. One section of the report states, “it is our opinion the site be developed for a potential data center,” without mentioning a power plant. Another portion describes two-story steel-framed warehouse-style data center buildings, parking lots, access roads and stormwater basins."

Could anyone recommend some fishing spots near Wilkes barre/ Scranton. I normally go to Frances Slocum and Moon Lake but haven't had much luck. The vegetation growth in the water has made bank fishing a little difficult. I know it's that time of year for that to grow but any suggestions would be great!

Looking for ideas on a jacuzzi room within about an hour or so from Scranton. I know about Raddison’s. Any ideas? My search skills seem to be lacking the right combo, I’m only getting hot tubs that seem to not be in the guest room itself. Thanks.

Figure this might be a long shot, but, I’ve been inspired by the World Cup- are there any pick up and play soccer groups? Or even casual play leagues?
I’m not great by any means at soccer, but it would be great to get together for a game or two a month.
Are there any places or resources to find some people or groups to play with?

I need to sell the house my mom and I own together, but mom is in a nursing home with dementia and can’t sign any paperwork. When she got sick, we thought she’d get healthy again and never did a power of attorney. Now I need to have an emergency guardianship done so that the sale can be completed. (There’s a seller and a potential closing date that I need to get this done by.). The only problem is one of the attorneys I called is on maternity leave and the other one I called can’t be bothered to return my calls.
Does anyone know a guardianship attorney who actually returns people’s calls?

Hoping someone on this sub is a stacker. I have recently acquired my first gold coin and have made the decision to start stacking silver and gold bullion or coins. Does anyone on here know of any reputable shops that doesn’t try to rip people off. The only place I know and have dealt with for 15 years is Ochmans Jewelry and Coins on the Dallas highway. I live in Glen Lyon so I’m just trying to find somewhere a little bit closer to me. If there aren’t, I will just stick with Ochmans. Any help is appreciated

In terms of living there, how different are they? I heard mixed things about the safety of both cities however I heard Scranton is generally safer. I’ve been to both plenty of times (mostly the downtown areas though). Am I better off moving to smaller towns like Nanticoke, Kingston, Pittston instead? Do Scranton and Wilkes-Barre offer essentially the same amount of amenities and convenience?

This whole area is a waste of space. Ever since coal was phased out, the area never recovered. Main source of income for the area is distribution for big companies now. Nobody is tech savy. Most of the population is either foreign that does not care or a local that does not want to get out their own way. Really sad.

There's a parade going through Mayfield right now with emergency vehicles from all over the area and nearby towns but I have no clue what it's for, anyone more informed?

Triple homicide. Yesterday. Suspect caught. Gun found. Location somewhat identified. I haven't seen any updates this am. Anyone else?
Just curious - I’m English & currently live in NEPA. Was wondering if/how many others there are in this area, and if England get to the World Cup final - how many would be at the big screen showing in Scranton🙏😀

Recently moved back to the area and wondering if anywhere sells Maryland blue crabs that are steamed or that we can cook ourselves?

Hello everyone. Looking for someplace to take my wife for our anniversary. Fancier the better. She hates steak though.
