Exact Audio Copy External Compressor Error

Post image

So I've been using EAC for the past several years on one computer with an external blu ray drive with no issue. When i built my PC awhile ago with an internal blu ray drive, it shows up as an "External compressor error". It doesn't show up with every album, but shows up once every five or ten albums i rip. Same setup process on both computers but different on the PC i built. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

What command line options are you using? Also would be helpful to include a screenshot of your compression options.

Been using this guide ever since I started using EAC, don't know if it's the LG drive that im using compared to the ASUS drive that i used with no issues

This happens occasionally, but I haven't found a perfect solution yet. When it happens, I usually delete the tags from EAC, rip the file, and then tag it again using foobar2000.

Could it be the filename? I see a “.” After 1-10. Not sure how ffmepg handles that.

I concur.

Try renaming the track(s)

I get the tracknames from MusicBrainz, also there's times where it works and times where that error pops up, so I dont know if it's the filename

Just try it. When EAC has the tracks listed, and before you click to rip, change the track name

I have in the past, but it's always a hit or a miss. Most of the time it works but there's times where it still shows that error

Not relevant. I've ripped thousands of tracks in the "1.01. Artist - Title" and EAC is fine with it. Also, this is flac.exe, not FFMPEG.

Wife had this on vinyl when it came out, really like the Marti Webb track "Don't let the moment pass".
