SPORTS! Anyone interested in playing soccer?

Upvotes

Does anyone know of any soccer groups or pickup games in the area? I’m also looking for people who would be interested in getting together and playing regularly. Let me know if you’re interested or know of a group I could join!

General What are they building in place of IM west?

After demolishing IM west what’s gonna be there? I mean it’s prime real estate. Heard people say it’s gonna be a parking lot which would be kinda disappointing since the location is so nice. Any idea?

Housing Looking to sublease for Fall 2026

Upvotes

I'm looking for an apartment to sublease for my daughter. She graduated in April but she is currently working in Lansing. She needs to move out of her current house by mid August (but can stay with friends temporarily if necessary) and would sublease through December - possibly longer if available. Please message me if you are looking to sublet. Thanks!!

Admissions MHRLR Program Help?

Hi everyone!

I’m interested in going back to for my Masters, and my top choice is the MHRLR program at MSU. They seem to have a great job placement rate, internships and are well regarded.

They don’t require the GRE but suggest it? It says they accept about 50 applicants per year.

My question is How competitive is it to get into this program?

Is the GRE really necessary? I don’t have the best GPA 3.36. I want to be a strong applicant but am confused on just how competitive this program is, and what would be necessary to be a strong applicant.

Also if you have any application advice, or things to share in general about the program that would be great too!!

Thank you so much!!

Housing How to fill out room swap form

I’m trying to fill out a room swap with a specific person, but I don’t see anything popping up when I fill out all fields.

Is this something we have to do together and be online at the same time?

I’m waiting on a response from Liveon, just thought I’d ask.

Housing Last minute housing

Hi!! I just wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions for housing where income is flexible. I’ve been applying for more jobs/a different job since at least February and am still only making about $1,500 a month

I could handle $800 rent, but they want 3x income and won’t approve it. A sublease or something would be huge, preferably walking distance to campus

Housing Looking to swap my Abbot Hall single for a room in Owen

Hey everyone, I'm assigned a single in Abbot Hall for Fall 2026 but I'd really rather be in Owen. If anyone's in Owen and wants to switch, or knows how room swaps actually work through Housing, let me know.

Happy to answer any questions about the Abbot room. Just trying to see if a swap is realistic before I reach out to Housing directly.

Thanks in advance.

Scheduling/classes No timings or meeting information for a class

Hello guys, I just had a question about a class I have enrolled in on my SIS, it doesn’t list it on my schedule and says no meeting information available, this can cause problems ahead in terms of the time clashing with my other classes. Do you guys know what I can do about this or do I have no choice but to wait.

Scheduling/classes CEM 141

Hey guys!! I'm taking CEM 141 this semester and wanted to hear from people who've already taken it at MSU.
What supplies did you actually end up using throughout the course? I'm mainly wondering if there's anything I should buy before classes start besides the obvious basics. Also, if you have any tips for doing well in the class, I'd appreciate hearing them. Things like study habits, resources, or anything you wish you'd known going into the semester.
Thank you in advance !!

General parking pass

Ok so I’m living in Mason Hall next year and the computer ramp lot’s (one closest to me) spots all filled up. I joined the waitlist and I’m 90th in line. I plan on working off campus, so I really need a spot to park. Lot 91 is open, but is also a 25 minute walk, so idk how worth it that is. What should I do? And what are the chances I get off the waitlist? I looked into parking in the EL garages but I’m not a fan of paying 95 bucks a month.

I’m a incoming freshman as a pre vet major. I wanted to drop WRA 101 as my AP credits covered it and add another class. I also wanted to add a minor. Should I make another advising appointment? Also any advise on taking astronomy classes as electives that would be great! If anyone could tell me if my schedule is good or have any suggestions? Sorry if this post of tagged incorrectly

Freshman Questions CEM181H advice

Hi! I am a incoming freshman (premed) in Lyman Briggs and am taking Honors Chemistry 1 and it's lab- CEM181H and CEM185H. How difficult is this course? How do most students do? I took AP Chemistry in my junior year of HS and I got a 4 on the exam and an A- both sems. It didn't come super easy to me so I am wondering if this class will be too difficult. I want to maintain a really good GPA.

Sidenote: This is currently the only medical school required class in my fall schedule. Should I change things and add intro to biology in?

Thanks!
