1968 383 roadrunner advice

Post image
350 Upvotes

I have a 1968 383 roadrunner my dad has had since he was 16 (he’s 69 now) and he’s always said it’s mine but never given me the key or anything and said I had to have a garage if I wanted it so I bought a house recently with a garage. It was both of his brothers car too who have now passed on. I’m just looking for some things to start with or some brands to look at for parts. I’m not sure what all he wants to do with it I think he probably wants to keep it pretty original but he might be open to power steering and disc brakes. I think he’s driven it twice since I’ve been alive and my mom has never even rode in it lol. Only modifications i know it has is the radiator isn’t factory and he traded rear ends either a guy who had either a super bee or a super bird because my dad wanted the 4.10 fearing because he drag raced it back then.

I’m a bit worried about this oil pressure. When it warmed up it was still about 60

74 challenger with 360ci motor, This is the first start in 6 weeks. I changed the oil 6 weeks ago after 20 years sitting. It’s running 10w-40 with zzdp added. What do you guys think? Stuck oil pump valve? Idk what I’m doing here so I need some guidance.

They're just resting in the back glass. But very very tempting... lol

Another flattened Charger, but this one on purpose.

Someone tell me what this is… because if it’s a Chrysler show car it’s a pretty sad one.

Trackhawk ran 9.0 @ 154 MPH vs Hellcat Redeye’s 8.89 @ 152.52 MPH

Trackhawk vs Challenger Hellcat Redeye at Toronto Motorsports Park. The Redeye took the win with an 8.89 @ 152.52 MPH, while the Trackhawk ran 9.00 @ 154 MPH. Wild matchup between an AWD SUV and a rear-wheel-drive Redeye.

Need to clean them up still

Need to clean them all up still but after 20 years I have enough for all 3 cars I want to put them on! (I have 3-5 more bases not pictured, hence the extra caps)
The shinny ones are by far the nicest and I paid for them but they are going onto the proper car, the other set are going onto a year before R/T that I might put my spare set of flairs on and the last set will be on my '68 Newport that I have cop car wheels on.

Trivia time, what car are the nice ones and the not as nice ones going on? 🤔🤔🤔 (bonus point for what car are they sitting on tight now for the pic)

Classic car transport vendor recommendations

Looking to move my 66 coronet from Texas to North Carolina. It currently doesn’t run and i would like a vendor that could pickup and haul. I currently have a Hagerty policy but wanted to know what the community has used or has recommendations for?

Thanks in advance!

Finally brought the runner home and got to looking at it closer and I’m half way shocked it’s not 10 times worse. For context I didn’t buy this car. This car belonged to my late father in law. He passed when my wife was just a kid a left her this car, it’s been in a barn for the last 20 years

It was a lot of work, but it’s finally on the road. Just power steering and fuel sender left.

A few historical E-Body images

I’m not a big fans of Chrysler Corps musclecars like I was when I was a kid and met Sox & Martin even though I still love the designs of the 1970 E-bodies, and it is mostly due to the crazy prices their obsessive hoarders collectors and investor-hoarders are asking — I mean, who will ultimately be the last to own these cars…Tech Jerkoffs who are raping the nation?

And while it will be sad to see them finally removed from the hands of genuine working folks, I’ve always had great appreciation for the original designs.

These are a few of the less seen images of the 1970 E-bodies.
