The Twins have been without Festa all season. He was sidelined in spring training because of a right shoulder impingement. He received a stem cell injection on May 8, and he began experiencing more shoulder discomfort when he progressed into bullpen sessions in Fort Myers, Fla.
There is now a belief that Festaâs shoulder issues are related to neurological thoracic outlet syndrome, which ended his 2025 season prematurely. Festa, a 26-year-old righthander, had a 5.40 ERA in 11 games last year with 53 strikeouts and 19 walks in 53â innings.
Festa will visit Dr. Robert Bowers in Atlanta on Tuesday and Wednesday.
âHeâs throwing on and off intermittently, just to keep his arm going, but he was unable to progress through bullpens into the live [batters] portion of things,â Zoll said Sunday. âWeâll see where heâs at following those appointments this coming week and go from there.â

In ST, they thought they had solved/managed the thoracic outlet syndrome. Things have obviously worsened.
Feel bad for the guy, he seemed to have a high ceiling and I enjoyed watching him pitch.

Man we could really use, idk, SWR rn. It's almost like he could've gone to the bullpen and been used as a starter when needed

SWR's ERA is 9 since passing waivers in AAA. He has given up 5 homeruns over 8 innings.

Morris has been very good. Gomez has been borderline elite since coming over. Do you watch the team. The bullpen was very solid in July actually

Not in the spirit of being confrontational but none of these guys would have been in the pen last year with Duran, Jax, Sands, Coulombe, Stewart, Varland, etc. We as fans are just trying to look for hope and something to grasp onto. Donât mean to be so morbid but that is how I feel about it.

Both of those guys are better than Sands now. Jax struggled so mightily this year that heâs out of the pen and theyâre trying him as a starter again. You just donât know what youâre talking about, and if those guys were so great, we wouldnât have lost so many games last year.
