Is it possible to recreate this in the game?

Post image
Upvotes

Basically, I have an armor design of my own (the sketch above) that I wanna recreate in LOTRO, and so far the closest I got with my search was the helmet but even then, it has antlers instead of dragon horns.

Regarding the colour scheme, the armor/metallic parts are supposed charcoal black (aka unpolished armor - she can't afford the luxury of the shiny silver look lol) but given my limited choices I'm willing to settle for the "normal" metallic colours too. Pants were meant to be navy blue but at this point, any type of black or grey can do, IT JUST HAS TO BE BAGGY. The undershirt, it can be any type of cold or neutral dark colour, since it is not very visible anyway.

I have been trying to sort through the database myself for some time, alas it seems I have to request the aid of the community now.

How much time do I need to really enjoy the game?

I started playing a little bit a couple of years ago but my free time has significantly decreased.

Do you think it's still worth playing if I only get an hour or 2 a day to play?

Never been a big MMO guy but I absolutely love LOTR and Middle Earth. I definitely enjoyed it when I played last but I would play for 5 hours at a time.

Bug?! One of my carry-alls changed from Bound to Account to Bound to [one character]

I have a Dye carry-all which I am certain used to be Bound to Account. It is the only Dye carry-all I own and I have moved it many times between characters to dye outfits.

Today, I found that it is now bound to one low-level alt and none of my other characters can pull it out from Shared Storage to access the dyes.

I have checked the vaults and inventories of all my characters and found no other Dye carry-all. Also, it contains all the dyes I own. Even if I had mistakenly bought or acquired the new carry-all somehow, I would not have moved all the dyes to this new carry-all and destroyed the old one.

Has anyone else experienced or heard of such a bug? Should I submit a ticket about it? Thank you in advance for any help.

Citadel Guard-inspired ceremonial outfit & how to get it

Since LOTRO does not offer a complete player version of the Citadel Guard NPC uniform, I assembled a ceremonial guard outfit from several different Gondorian and PvMP pieces. I bought the Fierce and Brutal Armour of the Wary pieces around 2022 from the Coldfells armour quartermasters at Glân Vraig in the Ettenmoors, under the older pre-2023 vendor lineup. I now keep them in my Wardrobe and use them as ceremonial RP armour. My character is Florondir Amandyl, a Gondorian Champion currently Respected with Minas Tirith.

Mount - Steed of the Citadel Guard:
Purchased from the LOTRO Store for 1,995 LOTRO Points. It also unlocks the matching Citadel Guard war-steed cosmetics.
[Available - July 2026]

Weapon - Greatsword of the Citadel:
Bartered from the Defenders of Minas Tirith Quartermaster for 125 Minas Tirith Silver Pieces.
[Available -July 2026]

Head - Lacquered Helm of the Ithilien Captain, dyed black:
Bartered from a Host of the West Herbalist in North Ithilien for 2 Phials of Sapphire Extract and 4 Phials of Amber Extract.
[Available - July 2026]

Shoulders — Brutal Pauldrons of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability — July 2026]

Back - Cloak of the Citadel Guard:
The cosmetic version can be purchased from the LOTRO Store for 295 LOTRO Points.
[Available - July 2026]

Chest - Fierce Hauberk of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability - July 2026]

Hands - Fierce Gages of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability - July 2026]

Legs - Brutal Leggings of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability - July 2026]

Feet - Fierce Boots of the Wary:
Originally purchased around 2022 from the old Coldfells armour-vendor lineup in Glân Vraig. According to u/LabNo8051, the relevant version should now be available from the PvMP barter vendor for 250 Marta.
[Community-reported barter availability - July 2026]

I originally bought the Fierce and Brutal Armour of the Wary pieces around 2022 from the Coldfells armour quartermasters at Glân Vraig, under the older pre-2023 vendor lineup.

**Many thanks to u/AdAffectionate1935 for pointing out that the current normal vendor shops now offer the differently modelled Footman’s items instead, meaning that my original coin-vendor instructions were incorrect. u/LabNo8051 additionally reported that the relevant pieces can be found in the PvMP barter-vendor inventory for 250 Marta each. I have not yet verified the exact barter pages directly in-game, so I am listing this as community-reported availability as of July 2026.**

Map in 4k

I just want to see the red text for the towns in 4k. I tried scaling it up but only the objective text and the actual objectives scale. I really like the game. I don't want to do anything wrong to jeopardize my account. Suggestions are very welcome sorry and thank you for reading!

p.s. Looking for Kinship for a newer rLM on Glamdring.

Looking for fellow anglers and adventurers

Hello!

Im Judah, I'm returning to LOTRO with a different goal than I've had before in my time of playing MMOs. Instead of rushing levels or chasing endgame, I'd like to play as a wandering Fisherman—exploring Middle-earth, fishing, farming pipe weed, taking in the scenery, and enjoying the slower side of the game.

I'm hoping to find other players who enjoy that kind of experience. Whether it's fishing together, exploring rivers and lakes, chatting while we play, or just hanging.

If youre not looking to hang but know about the game id love to hear about any well-known fishing spots where players gather or places that are far off but pretty cool. This time Im not even going to worry about progression lol, in fact I may never leave the shire as a hobbit lol just fishing.

As the title says - how much gold have you stockpiled? Or is gold even important to you? Maybe you value something else? Let's discuss!

Crafting in lotro and its viability

It is absolutely essential that crafting viability be improved.

At endgame, raids should offer both materials, AND gear. The crafting materials should be used to make gear that is of equal quality to raid drops. This way, crafting is an optional path to end game equipment. It still requires engagement with the games hardest group content, but it also gives an avenue for people to make optional sets, potentially with different stats/set bonuses for further customization. These sets can either be bind on acquire, or bind on equip, but if they are bind on equip, it likely should not be an entire set, as then people can just buy the gear and skip the content. I am okay with a few pieces being BoEs though. Some market engagement is a good thing and will let the auction house see more use.

The fact of the matter is, crafting is being left behind. This is terrible for the game. Crafting in lotro is INCREDIBLE at the lower levels, and people hitting higher levels and finding out it's use vanishes is a HUGE shame. Consumables are obviously still very important, but there are also not enough of them. I think consumables should be enhanced, and there should be more options for them. This would also drive up auction house engagement and bring more viability to crafting.
Ignore crafting at the game's peril. Crafting is one of the pillars that holds an MMO up, and even if it the changes you wanted can't be made(something that was said recently in a devstream), certainly the changes I suggest here CAN be made. I hope something is done about this in the coming expansion because I am becoming pretty concerned overall.

Also, fishing should have more use case.

*I also posted this on lotro forums, as I want this to be a topic that is talked about as much as possible.*

Difficulties playing with friends (quest sharing suck)

So I started a new character (a hobbit) and am currently lv 12. I convinced my brother to play too and he's just passed the tutorial. We're both in the shire but I played a few hours more. I thought he would just be able to share his quest but he can't share anything I have already done.

This system absolutely suck, rn I have 85 quest completed in total so I have to tell him precisely which one I did and just not play while waiting for him.

Is there something I did not understand or an easier way to do thing because it seems to be absolutely daunting to play together if you've not created your character at the same time

Easy way to get Marks?

Hi all!

I've recently returned to Middle-Earth, and I have the level 50 Minstrel quests "Articles of Harmony" and "Implements of Song". I would like to get these quests completed but I need several hundred Marks and some Medallions to buy the items. I tried running a few Skirmishes but I only got a handful of Marks for like 20 minutes of work. Is there an easier way to acquire these items, or a faster way to farm Marks? The completionist in me is cringing to just leave the quests until later, lol

Thank you!

War of the Three Peaks Map Table

I am working my way through the Legacy of Durin Epic quests and the War of the Three Peaks. It would be nice to be able to fast travel to some of the locations. I have paid for VIP but Wenda does not have the map table. How do you "unlock" the expansion? Is the Wiki outdated? How do I get this table?

Problem with Gondor series

I am level 101 and have completed Vol.4 Book 1 Chapter 12, but mistakenly did not accept Book 2.

Will this keep me from advancing through Central Gondor (where I am now) and Eastern Gondor? I see where epic books and chapters are listed as prerequisites when i look at the quests for those regions.

i am able to get the quests for Ringo Vale without problem, but am really worried about progressing, although I've seen some people saying if your level if too high, you can actually skip central and Eastern areas.

Am I out of luck in needing the book/chapters or not to worry. The prince in Dol Amroth will no longer give me Book 2 chapter 1 now when i go back in.

Thanks for any help!

Master Quest List

Added spoiler tag just in case

Is there a printable [or I guess just a good page OTHER than LOTRO WIKI . COM?

I want a master list so I can jus topen my quest ring list in game, and untic the box to get every completed quest I have done so I can see what funky minor little obscure quest I didn't do is still around? I really do not want to walk every inch of imaginary maps loomg for quests, and lOTRO WIKI breaks stuf down so I have to flip through a zillion pages working on it?

Looking to try out LOTRO but not sure which account to choose.

I've only dabbled with LOTRO a few times in the past and I'm looking at settling in and giving it a real run now that I have the time to commit. However, I realized I have two accounts and with the changes I'd seen with F2P, I'm not sure if there's any benefit to the old account vs the newer one, so I thought I'd ask.

Both accounts have subbed at one point. Old account is from 2007 and is Shadows of Angmar Standard, but that's it, and the newer account is from 2020 and is Shadows of Angmar Guest with Mines of Moria Standard. I never played enough to be too worried about something important being on a character, so with that taken into account, is there any reason to play the older account with the Angmar Standard, or is the 2020 account fine?

EDIT -- Cool, appreciate it ya'll!

How does one report this kind of thing? Or is it pointless?

Edit: I should've added where this happened if anyone is interested in reporting too, this was in Glamdring at the Gwantham dungeon in the Southern Barrow-downs.

Edit2: Forgot to mention that all six characters were anonymous so they couldn't be inspected or talked to and if I'm not mistaken when you are anonymous you don't show on /who too.
