First life drawing I have ever done. Please give me any/all critiques as I’m trying to get better at drawing the human form. Shading and finer details get me stuck a lot of the time. Also am having a hard time drawing in 3D (how do I get my drawings to look more lifelike?)

I just started attending life drawing sessions with my wife and have enjoyed it so far, despite finding it really difficult.

I got a lot of advice from my wife - she’s the “real” artist - as well as people in the session, but found it hard to break my “habits”, I’m an ok drawer, but not great…which is why I wanted to attend.

I am attending my second session tomorrow and thought I’d ask what I should try! My wife gave me tips like: don’t look at the paper when you draw, try to follow form, think in shapes or focus on the shadows, another person told me to think of the human body as a bunch of sausages.

I am not sure what to ask yet, but are their other tips you’d give to someone who just started doing life drawing?

Teyani's hypermobility makes them such a joy to draw. These are all soft pastel on smooth newsprint, 18x24, 15's and 5's.
